it's all great!. i've been here twice this summer (on the beautiful patio)
the food and service are both wonderful.
the first time i had the butcher burger, the second time i had the tomato and basil gnocchi both are great!
will certainly return!

went there for brunch and will be returning. was extremely pleased. tried the eggs benedict and my meal was very tasty and cooked wonderfully. my only complaint would be that the hostess tried to sit my fiancé and i at a table next to the kitchen when the restaurant was only approximately half full. we moved. problem solved : )

went as part of a bachelorette party - excellent service, especially for a large group. food was great - a little more expensive than what i would typically spend on a meal out, but a nice splurge for a special occasion. beautifully decorated, i will definitely be back next time i'm in waterloo!

the vibrant food presentation was very appetizing. i enjoyed each component of the dish, puree, confit, vegetables, potatoes….all with the exception of the ingredient that should have taken center stage --- the pickerel. the pickerel was overcooked. each bite had to be paired with another component in the dish to reduce its dryness. the server’s response to the dehydrated fish was “this is the way it should be...pickerel is usually a tad bit dry.” the pickerel was more than “a tad bit drier”. i had a fair share of succulent pickerel in my life. delicious moist pickerel is actually achievable. as a customer service personnel, it is always better to be open for feedback than to take offense.

lovely restaurant for brunch. went back for their smoked salmon benedict twice and i am always pleased. the biscuits pair very well with the eggs and salmon except the home fries, overly roast. other than that, service is good and the restaurant ambient is lovely.

did i mention they have lovely oreo biscotti at the bauer cafe? very delicious and excellent pair with a cup of joe.

have this place the benefit of the doubt, twice. place is nice, service is good but food way overrated. french onion soup was cold, tasteless steak was hidden under over salted sauce. had better food at a place like the keg for a lot less. will take a place like milestones or baton rouge anyway. don't believe the hype!

great place to have a peaceful meal, great food is just a bonus.. went there on a monday by myself around 6:30pm. the place was one third full. the dinning room was tastefully decor with the original old factory left over parts. the building was an old factory before converting to an office building, shopping area. the tables and chairs are very comfortable. how comfortable, clean and interesting the place is almost as important as the food to me. service was great too.

had their daily soup, it was steaming hot when it was put in front of me. a very nice touch. the bread were warm. duck confit next, veggie and potato were just right. the duck was excellent. as good as the first two courses, the dessert was the one i remember the most.

it was the chocolate nemesis. chocolate after chocolate and more chocolate. it comes with a small cup of spicy chocolate sauce. it was just spicy enough to tickle the throat but not enough to burn. be aware i am a person who can eat half a dozen of suicide chicken wings and not break a sweat. use that as a guideline.

all three courses came out fast enough but not too fast. i have managed to read a few pages of my book in between courses and enjoyed myself within the hour and a little bit while i was there. a place i will certainly go back.

dessert at tbk. recently, we were spoiled at the bauer kitchen. not only was our waiter allen warm and friendly, the chefs presented us with a sample of tasty dessert. here's our thoughts on each one..
lemon cake - this lemon cake with a tinge of orange was by far one of my favourites! the lemony – orange flavour was consistent throughout every moist bite. the carmelized slice of orange used as a garnish highlighted the unique flavour combination.

apple dessert - who doesn’t love the sweet taste of apples? this layered apple dessert was my absolute favourite. it was light and juicy and the flavor was insanely delicious! on a sweet note, it was the perfect finish to any meal.

flourless chocolate brownie- one small wedge of this decadent brownie, delivers a big dose of rich chocolate flavor! i couldn’t help but to eat every last morsel including the drizzled chocolate syrup.

ginger cake - although it didn’t make my top ten list of desserts due to its lack of moisture, it certainly made my top 20 list. the undertones of various ground spices blended nicely with the overtones of ginger. the ginger taffy was an added bonus. adding homemade whipped cream may help with the moisture.

whiskey crème brulee - this rich and indulgent, boozy crème brulee definitely hit the palate! the added whiskey was perfectly proportioned and the texture was spot on!

my colleagues and i will certainly be eating here more often!! we love it!

classy. the bauer' kitchen is definitely a step up amongst the charcoal group; tbk is a complete turn around of wildcraft. the atmosphere, the hospitality and quality of food meets expectations of such a reputable establishment. although the pizza was a bit simple, the steak was cooked to perfection, and food was brought out on time. as for the fondu, the combination of cheeses were ideal, where the caramelized onions complimented all the flavors. at the same time, the courteous champagne for anniversaries is highly appreciated as well.
