you have to be a flaming moron to not enjoy this place. from the fresh baked smell that welcomes you at the door, to the friendly service, to the food - you can't go wrong here. there's plenty of "down" time when there's nowait- so if there is a line out the door is just come another time. i had the 10oz steak and it more than met my expectations. do not leave without a ted's tart - even if you're too full and must take it to go. i challenge you to find a homemade pop tart any where else.

fun family atmosphere with retro tv shows like i love lucy playing on silent screens. the food was all wonderful. the braised pot roast is incredible. parmesan chicken is delicious and enough to feed two people. chocolate cake is huge and moist and oh so chocolatey. we also shared a chocolate peppermint milkshake that i'll be craving for weeks. we can'twaitto return!

the ambience and food were exceptional. thewaitwas almost unbearable. call ahead!!! since there were no seats, we stood around for an hour and enjoyed some drinks (nonalcoholic since they can't serve alcohol before 11am - argh!) while we waited. my son said the oreo shake was the best that he's ever had!

the portions were huge! wished we would have tried the ted's tart, but our meals didn't come with it and we were just too full to order one.

wow - my new favorite dc area breakfast restaurant!!
had a bit of awaitat 945 saturday morning but this is expected.
atmosphere is a modern tribute to a rustic 30's theme.
service was professional with a smile!!
food - nana's beer biscuits and gravy are worth every delicious calorie!!
coffee - they left a carafe of wonderful hot bold coffee on the table - yes the way it should be served.
drawbacks - tiny bit loud but so what!!
this place is the best breakfast restaurant in dc & i will be back!!!

clever art deco and a fun take on classic american. grade: b+

ted's bulletin grabbed our attention from the outside. the menu in the window in this mosaic district eatery was filled with traditional american favorites presented with a playful twist, such as homemade pop tarts, a menu full of milkshakes, and a sunday pasta special with "meatballs as big as your head".
booths are spacious and offer a bit of privacy, although there is a bit of a din that can make it a bit hard to hear. art deco lamps and pseudo-antique tvs on the wall - complete with foil-wrapped bunny ear antennas - add to the appealing style of the interior.
everything looks potentially good, from the anytime breakfast choices to sandwiches, salads, and entrees. nightly specials include pot pie (monday), tv dinner (thursday), prime rib (friday-saturday), and family style pasta on sunday. the salad dressing choices include the old school classic, a creamy garlic and herb green goddess.
the pasta special was a huge bowl with huge, moist meatballs that include italian sausage, overcooked spaghetti and a good red sauce, and thick pieces of garlic toast.
most pleasantly surprisingly was the reasonable, non-dc prices. we loved ted's and can'twaitto try them for breakfast.

fun, quality but casual. the first thing i heard about ted's was that thewaitis very long, but we went around 9:30 am on sunday, put our names in, were told 30 minutes, and went to get coffee until they texted us that the table was almost ready, 20 minutes later. not bad. the rush hit shortly after that. what's important is that the food and service were great. those specialty pop tarts are a fun treat, the greek yogurt is an awesome fresh fruit parfait, the omelet was yummy, and all the ingredients were fresh and good quality. definitely recommend.

"family" restaurant. don't be fooled by the sign on the door - this is a family restaurant in the loosest sense of the word. we were visiting d.c from kansas city and staying in the eastern market neighborhood. we realized quickly that this was an area where most restaurants catered for couples - not a huge surprise given the demographics of the area. so we sought out a restaurant that would suit our family, three kids aged 6, 4 & 2. we had walked past ted's bulletin the previous night and thought that it looked great. the cautious father in me decided to call in advance (at 6:30pm on a sunday night) to confirm if a) they have a kids menu as this can't be seen on their website despite the adult menu being visible and b) if it was necessary to book a table as kids under 7 generally don't have the patience towaitfor a table when they're tired and hungry. i was assured that there was a kids menu and that there was no need to book a table given we planned to arrive within the next hour. we walked in 40 mins later and stood in the front bar area for 10 mins expecting at least an acknowledgement from the bar staff or perhaps a host. instead, we waited in no mans land in the middle of the front dining room behind what may have been a line for the main dining room or just a few people waiting for friends. after ten minutes and no sign of any service, we jumped when a kind chap and his kids vacated table nearby and suggested that we take it. unsure if we needed to be seated, we decided to accept given there was no discernible line and the hosts were apparently m.i.a. we started to clear the used plates to one side and after another 10 minutes a server appeared. he asked if we had been seated by a host to which i responded "we haven't laid eyes on a host for 20 minutes we've been in here". he refused to serve us until we checked in with the hosts in the next room. i complied to be told there would be a 50 minwaitfor a table. so maybe we were unlucky to hit an unexpected influx of customers, or maybe the staff are just incompetent. my gut feeling is the latter. good luck.

great place. i have been twice and both times were an absolute success. both times i had their "adult" shakes and they were great. had the nutty professor and the bailey's caramel macchiato. the burger was favorable and the chicken fried steak decent. would def recommend this place to visitors of dc. worth thewaitif there is one. great service.

thewaitfor a table at ted's bulletin was nearly hour, and all i wanted on that rainy, hung-over sunday morning was some comfort food. so we waited. and stared at the milkshake machine and the homemade frosted pop tarts behind the retro counter. what is this place? have i stepped into a 1940s diner? why is everyone so happy ? i nipped to the restroom to clear my head and nearly ran into a woman who was smiling and gazing at all the old black-and-white photos on the walls of the hallway. "that's my dad the
