excellent experience!!. thisplaceis great! the food is homemade and the portions generous. the menu is not extensive, but there is plenty to choose from especially with breakfast being served all day. on the downside, the dining room is noisy. it’s an open space with about 30 booths, so there is nothing to stop or deaden the sound. if you are looking for a quiet intimate experience, look elsewhere. i feel compelled to address the poptarts since it’s a signature item. they are more-so filled rich shortbread cookies than the traditional poptart. that’s not necessarily a bad thing considering it’s a delicious huge filled cookie...it’s not a poptart.

cosy casual meal

saw the reviews for thisplaceand booked. would not realise restaurant was there if not told as the front looks like a cafe and the restaurant is in the back. the waiter was friendly and engaging and theplacewas full with couples and families. i had the cob salad which was huge but tasty and my husband had the meatloaf. meals were reasonably priced. this is a greatplaceto go for a casual meal.

if you like your burger big and juicy with a toasted bun and savory fixings, thisplaceis for you. two burgers are named after president obama and first lady michelle, maybe because this is a favorite of theirs.  their fries have rosemary on them which you'll either like, or not; no one's in between. (they come without the herb as well).  shakes are thick and sinful, a young person's delight.  with fries, and a drink, you'll pay about $15; or $7-$9 for the burger by itself.  music is too loud for me,  but others seem not to notice.  it's always packed, but large enough you'll find a seat either upstairs or outside. try it, you'll be back.

restaurant and bakery stop. the good thing about thisplaceis you can just swing by and take some baked treats to go or sit down for a meal. i swung by and picked up the salted caramel and brown sugar pop tarts. was it tasty? yes. did it give me a glimpse into what a non-processed breakfast classic should be? yes. was it spectacular? not so much. i probably wouldn't get it again but would recommend others to give it a try. it's at least an interesting thing to try.

wow - my new favorite dc area breakfast restaurant!!
had a bit of a wait at 945 saturday morning but this is expected.
atmosphere is a modern tribute to a rustic 30's theme.
service was professional with a smile!!
food - nana's beer biscuits and gravy are worth every delicious calorie!!
coffee - they left a carafe of wonderful hot bold coffee on the table - yes the way it should be served.
drawbacks - tiny bit loud but so what!!
thisplaceis the best breakfast restaurant in dc & i will be back!!!

the second outpost of ted’s bulletin is opening on monday, august 19th on 14th street nw. it’s a great addition to the neighborhood as it will be one of the few places serving breakfast during the week, in addition to lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks. the team opened the doors to the media last tonight to check out the new space, and to sample some of the delicious treats. blueberry cheesecake pop-tarts… are you drooling yet? additionally, the new ted’s will have a bakery that will feature donuts, cookies, and other pastries that can be taken to-go. a perfectplaceto pick up an impressive dessert for your dinner party without having to be stuck in the kitchen baking all day. in addition, the new restaurant is quite spacious with a huge bar area that plays to the old-school malt shop theme, and has comfortable booths for larger parties. ted’s bulletin is located at 1818 14th street nw. follow them on twitter: @ tedsbulletin .

at first glance, i thought ted's bulletin was just a glorified diner dressed up like an extra on boardwalk empire. after all, what do 19 year-old baseball players know about places to eat since, well, they're just 19 and all they've been doing is playing baseball. it turns out they know a lot or at least they know that everyone should find a go toplaceto find a reliable, comforting meal. ted's bulletin is such a place. from the well done comfort food to the eternal breakfast, everything that comes out (sometimes too quickly though) will always leave you satisfied. personally, i could probably just stick to the milkshakes and pop tarts.

great place. i have been twice and both times were an absolute success. both times i had their "adult" shakes and they were great. had the nutty professor and the bailey's caramel macchiato. the burger was favorable and the chicken fried steak decent. would def recommend thisplaceto visitors of dc. worth the wait if there is one. great service.

news! news! we love ted's!. wow. just wow. from the miraculous interior salvaged from a philadelphia civic center, to the great diner-ware, to the fabulously friendly service, ted's bulletin seduced us in short order. pancakes were good (if a little chewy--don't overwork the batter, ok?), the sausage was amazing (sweet, then really spicy, then mmmmmm), and the hashbrowns shockingly crunchy and creamy at the same time. wondrous.

the only complaint: the biscuits and the homemade poptarts were bone dry, stealing most of the anticipated enjoyment from them. i know the biscuits went with the sausage gravy (nice!) but they were dry like the sahara and about as absorbant as linoleum. it was ok but with a serving of 4 biscuits--oooof--it was too much dryness. same with the poptarts: crumbly, not flaky; granular, not pastry-like.

small, tiny, minor issues: thisplaceknows exactly who it is and its clientele. we plan on coming back!

there are some places you go to because the food is good and others that you tolerate because you like the atmosphere of the place. at ted's bulletin , i'm happy to report that you can get good food in an irresistibly adorable olde timey atmosphere. ted's is the comfort food purveying cousin to matchbox and dc-3 , and everything about theplacescreams old fashioned comfort, including the baker making fresh "pop tarts" in the front window... and the fixtures reclaimed from the old philadelphia civic center. it's undeniably adorable and unlike anyplacewe've been in dc. with this much atmosphere, it wouldn't be a surprise if the food didn't measure up. however, we found ted's menu of comfort food classics (and a few original twists) to be worthy of a return visit. i could drink an unsafe amount of their "adult" milkshakes spiked with alcohol. indulge in a boozy grasshopper (mint) shake or a creamy white russian. if you don't wish to imbibe, ted's serves non-alcoholic classic shakes too
