good not great. for us, ted and wally's has been hit and miss. we have visited several times and sometimes have been impressed and sometimes nonplused.

on a recent visit i enjoyed a very good avocado icecreamand while my fiancé and parents enjoy more traditional options such as lemon custard (excellent) and butter pecan (pretty good). on another visit, the flavor selection was un-intriguing and non-inventive.

the staff has generally been helpful, though on our recent visit one staff member couldn't figure out how to give proper change to my father and tried to argue with him, before eventually admitting she made a mistake.

overall, its probably omaha's best local ice cream, but i have enjoyed much better other places.

not so special. okay...the building is pretty cool and being set in the old market is awesome but the few times my wife and i have stopped in the service was terrible and the icecreamit's self while having varied flavors is nothing out of the ordinary...it's ice cream..i have made tastier with my old hand crank icecreammaker...ben & jerry's is still better than ted & wally's.

this place is too cute!!! it’s a step back in time here with the old olivecreammachines on display and rustic seating. they had great flavors and were happy to share samples. after tasting several flavors, i went to for the vegan mint chip (i’m not vegan, it just tasted really good)! the sign says they locally source as many ingredients as possible which makes me feel like a responsible consumer. i only wish it wasn’t $5 a scoop.

love that ice cream. absolutely the best icecreamin omaha. in fact, i can't remember a better icecreamanywhere: texture, flavors, and butter fat content are perfect. plus the location, employees and interior are very cool.

fantastic. this place is the best! such creative flavors, so rich and creamy. employees are typically friendly. i love the blueberry cobbler ice cream, and the salted caramel toffee, and the guiness, and the oatmeal cookie, and the....oh gosh it's all so good. just go! and eat! and be merry!

terrific. this is one of the last bastions of real icecream- forget maggie moos, this is the real deal! where else can you get guiness ice cream? love it. i wish the staff was a bit more professional and nice. they're boardering on rude....thank god you only deal with them for 2 minutes.

yum. i like ted & wally's. the icecreamis good, but it is a good idea to get a sample before you commit to anything. some flavors are really awesome and some, not so much. just try it before you buy it! the coffee is good as well. as others have mentioned, the seating is extremely sparse and it is old market pricey. but, you do get quite a bit of icecreampacked into your waffle cone. i've not had any problems with the staff being rude but like many other places, it is a good idea to go when it is less busy.

meh.. can we please take ted & wally's off of the pedestal that omahans have put it on?! it's okay. just okay. just because they make the icecreamthemselves and it is located in the old market does not automatically make it great.

flavors are imaginative, but then, they have to be when you're paying for two scoops what an entire half gallon of premium icecreamwould cost you at the grocery store.

parking is awful.

lines can be long and employees bark at customers when the lines are long. it seems their solution to long lines is to treat their customers like idiots and publicly berate them. if they don't have the patience for a endless line of distracted customers, then they should probably find another line of work.

seating is scant.

mostly it's just average. some flavors are good, some are okay, and some are bad. is it worth the old market parking and crowds and the elevated cost? i think not.

we’ve been in omaha since november and i can’t believe i haven’t made it to ted & wally’s before now. located in old market, ted & wally’s premium homemade icecreamoffers delicious icecreamand most importantly, at least one of the daily varieties is vegan. what dairy allergy? enjoying vegan vanilla icecreamat ted & wally’s ice cream. coming from a mom of a boy who has a dairy allergy, this is exciting news. we can now go as a family into an icecreamparlor and order icecreamfor both of our boys. woo-hoo! so, after a trip downtown this past weekend, the boys and i headed over for what i told them was going to be a surprise. it did not disappoint. from the eclectic artwork and bright interior to the helpful staff and nice combination of unusual and traditional icecreamflavors, ted & wally’s was a wonderful treat. the vegan flavor of the day was vanilla. my youngest got chocolate and i ordered the thai tea ice cream. del

tasty ice cream!. we were in omaha for a family reunion and came across this fun icecreamshop with really good ice cream. i would like to go back and try the interesting flavors. they have specialty flavors plus toppings too. my daughter enjoyed the rice crispy treat icecreamand the schmitty's was good too (malted chocolate with coconut). the place was packed on a thursday night.

sincere and worth every penny. i don't know what it is about cold weather that makes me want to go downtown and get ice-cream, but every time it snows i have to find this place (and fight for parking) and treat myself to something delicious.

the icecreamat ted and walleys is not always perfectly smooth, in fact i occasionally get a small ice chip, but the experience is never bad. it reminds me of the ice-cream i ate at church as a child. you can taste good intentions and positive feelings. it's not super fancy and snooty acting, the staff are always 150% happy and helpful in their suggestions. in fact, ive never seen any of those guys ever frown. when you walk in, they ask you how you are and talk to you like a friend, not a client. this is missing in some of the other newer spots downtown. you can buy fancy machines and displays, but you can't buy heart. ted and walleys has miles and miles of heart.

really?. i cannot understand why anyone would prefer maggie moo's over ted & wally's. granted, the staff is young & surly (hey, anyone else remember when they were 19 years old), but the quality and flavor choices for the icecreamare fantastic! if you really need to avoid the hipster aspect of t&w's, just order at the counter and walk out. my wife and i get a pint or two to go from ted & wally's every week; i just wish i could make that pint last longer than the night i buy it!

they're local, they're fresh, they're inventive, they're great. you will not find a better icecreamexperience in omaha.
