give it a shot. first, i would like to say that good or even great customer service is getting more and more rare nowadays but the customer service at sweet spice is outstanding. the staff is geniunely warm and friendly. now, on to the food. i highly recommend the curry chicken and curry goat. the curry sauce is not spicy at all but very flavorful and the portion sizes and prices are reasonable. there are a couple of other options in savannah to buy carribean food but sweet spice is the only place that gets my business. the quality of the food and the customer service are always consistent.

delicious. i took my son to college in savannah, and after a very exhaustive day getting him registered i was hungry. i drove around but only found the usual fast food, as i was driving down waters ave i saw a sign "sweet spice" and decided to stop. i found out it was a jamaican restaurant, i couldn't believe it , so far away from the hustle and bustle of decatur!! i ordered the jerk chicken and usually i don't like chicken breast because it is too meaty and dry...not so this time, i found it to be moist and succulent, and seasoned to the center, i actually enjoyed it, my son also had the oxtails and wanted more.....this is the best jamaican food i've had in ages!!! keep up the standard sweet spice!!!! i will definitely be back..

wonderful dining experience!. interested in an international taste treat and relying on urbanspoon advice, we had diner at sweet spice. we were greeted warmly and quickly engaged with the staff about the menu. there were so many things that sounded good it was hard to decide…..so (with the help of the staff) i went for the sampler plate!! i was not disappointed! i had tilapia, shrimp and chicken along with rice and plantains. very tasty and plenty of food ! if the food wasn’t good enough, the staff was friendly and engaging, though not intrusive. if i lived is savannah, i’d visit next week…since i don’t, it will be on be “go back” list next time i am in town.

what a jerk!. i mean the chicken. it was perfect. ;) we rode by one day on a random scooter excursion and made a note to stop back at sweet spice for dinner. finally got around to that today and we're so glad we did. i'd never had caribbean food before today and don't especially like fish but now i'm hooked on this place. the owner/chef made us red snapper and brought a sample of the jerk chicken. everything was stellar. we're looking forward to going back for some jerk tofu! i recommend this spot. clean, upbeat and tasty.

was not impressed with curry chicken dish. it was really dry

-----07 jun, 2012-----

customer service was great but the curry chicken dish i ordered, not so much. the chicken was very dry and poorly seasoned. i also was upset there was no gravy from the chicken to put on top of my rice. the macaroni and cheese was fantastic though

perfection. i work around the corner from sweet spice and have developed an obsession. first of all, let me say i am a foodie. i come from asheville, nc, the land of locavore haute cuisine and craft beer. moving to savannah has made my tummy very sad. everything is just deep fried and tossed in old bay for the most part. this place is divine. everything is amazing. you can taste the layers of spice and seasoning. it is actually genius. if i could just put my face in a tub and nom nom nom on plantains without judgement, i would. today they were out so i tried the green beans and rice and beans. this guy has managed to turn something as simple as rice and beans into a meal on its own. i always get the jerk chicken or curry chicken, but it is all good. the food here is better then anything in downtown and for 6.50 you just can't beat it!! the other awesome part about this place is the owner. on my 2nd visit i was greeted with a warm (and genuine!), "welcome back!" and today was "i'm so glad to see you again". this guy has to be the happiest and most friendly man on the planet. you just simply can't been sweet spice. unique, delicious, and super inviting!
