i'm new to savannah and have been driving by the waters st location every day. today i tried it. delicious. they even have roti :) as far as i can tell it's only one kind served as a side, but it's good. make sure if you want the small order to say you want the small. i inadvertently got the large and just hope it's stillgoodreheated!

everything was fantastic!. we found this restaurant on urbanspoon. from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles andgoodhumor. suggestions were made for drinks and entrées. the pineapple and ginger drink was yummy and refreshing. i am exclusively gf and there was lots to choose from. the best thing (not gf) was the open face bob marley borrito. it was huge! the jerk and curry chicken was yummy as well.
you must try this! it's mighty convenient if you are traveling. its right off the interstate.

simply amazing! went here on recommendations from a lot of friends. this particular outlet is a little small for dine-in so we took the food to go. the staff were very friendly and helpful. we ordered the jerk chicken and curry goat with rice and plantains. the portions were quite big and definitely lived up to all the hype. the jerk chicken was my favorite. the meat was so tender and marinated well. there was a nice kick of spiciness. the curry goat was alsogoodbut not too spicy. i loved the plantains!

nice place, nice food & nicer people. had the shrimp, beef rib & jerk chicken all meats were nicely flavored and cooked well, not hot but if you want hotter scotch bonnet sauce is available if you want more heat. at first look the portions seemed small, but with 3 meats on the sampler there was quite enough food even for a big eater like me, i did not leave hungry. rice & peas were good, maybe a bit shy on the red peas, and the cabbage & carrots needed no additional flavorings like so many cabbage dished do. had the fruit punch to drink, it wasgoodenough to be considered a desert. the waitress and cook-owner could not be more nice and friendly. this place lived up to what i had heard. and for the one review i saw that said it was expensive, i would disagree, i thought it was a wonderful value for great scratch cooked food.

good and spicy. we visited the sweet spice restaurant just before closing and had the 3-item combos. the jerk chicken was great, followed by the curry chicken. we were the only customers there, so it was peaceful. this may not be the norm. the service wasgoodand the owner/chef came out to meet us and chat for a while. agoodrestaurant to go to, to avoid the ordinary and the crowds. worth a repeat visit.

incredibly good!. great food at agoodprice!
tiny but mighty. sounds weird but both my tummy and mouth were smiling.
the owner's a sweetie and the service is good.
what a great lunch (sample platter) at a great price.
the shrimp is sweet and perfect. the pineapple ginger juice unique. i wish i'd had some rum to add to it.

if you go, do not miss the bread pudding. i could roll in it.

best jamaican/carribean food in town. if you are looking for authentic and flavorful carribean food sweet and spice is the place to go! i was first recommended by my sister to go for lunch and i have been back twice in one week and took my husband with me! their jerk chicken is a-mazinggg and their mac-n-cheese is just asgood(as well as their other menu items such as the brown stewed chicken). we will never go anywhere else for carribean food in savannah after trying this place, and we have had a few places that we have visited but not really worthy of a second visit.... and definately pick up dessert before you leave, their italian cream cake is absolutely delicious! it's also very cheap and you get a lot of food... who doesn't like to have a little take take home eh??

all in all this place is definately worth a try! =)

give it a shot. first, i would like to say thatgoodor even great customer service is getting more and more rare nowadays but the customer service at sweet spice is outstanding. the staff is geniunely warm and friendly. now, on to the food. i highly recommend the curry chicken and curry goat. the curry sauce is not spicy at all but very flavorful and the portion sizes and prices are reasonable. there are a couple of other options in savannah to buy carribean food but sweet spice is the only place that gets my business. the quality of the food and the customer service are always consistent.

wonderful dining experience!. interested in an international taste treat and relying on urbanspoon advice, we had diner at sweet spice. we were greeted warmly and quickly engaged with the staff about the menu. there were so many things that soundedgoodit was hard to decide…..so (with the help of the staff) i went for the sampler plate!! i was not disappointed! i had tilapia, shrimp and chicken along with rice and plantains. very tasty and plenty of food ! if the food wasn’tgoodenough, the staff was friendly and engaging, though not intrusive. if i lived is savannah, i’d visit next week…since i don’t, it will be on be “go back” list next time i am in town.
