sweet spice restaurant

everything was fantastic!. we found this restaurant on urbanspoon. from the moment we walked in, we were greeted withfriendlysmiles and good humor. suggestions were made for drinks and entrées. the pineapple and ginger drink was yummy and refreshing. i am exclusively gf and there was lots to choose from. the best thing (not gf) was the open face bob marley borrito. it was huge! the jerk and curry chicken was yummy as well.
you must try this! it's mighty convenient if you are traveling. its right off the interstate.

simply amazing! went here on recommendations from a lot of friends. this particular outlet is a little small for dine-in so we took the food to go. the staff were veryfriendlyand helpful. we ordered the jerk chicken and curry goat with rice and plantains. the portions were quite big and definitely lived up to all the hype. the jerk chicken was my favorite. the meat was so tender and marinated well. there was a nice kick of spiciness. the curry goat was also good but not too spicy. i loved the plantains!

very happy they have a pooler location 15 mins from my house. the food is very authentic and the staff isfriendlyand they treat you like family. i visit weekly

authentic caribbean food. superfriendlyand polite staff/owners from jamaica couldn't have been nicer! i had the jerk chicken lunch and my friend had the curray chicken. both we're excellent and with two sides for $7, great deal and healthy! adding to my lunch and takeout dinner rotation.

a trip to jamaica in savannah georgia. i went out one saturday to get a sandwich and found jamaica-sweet spice restaurant. i had the escoviech fish with cabbage & plantains. wow! they have really good food, the service is great didn't have to wait long for my food although they were very busy. everyone wasfriendlymade a promise to myself to eat there once a week...okay maybe twice :0

feels like your eating at family's house. we browsed reviews for restaurants in savannah to find a seafood and steak restaurant. we found this restaurant. we called and made a reservation for 14 people. we got a call back later to confirm our reservation. they informed us that they only had 17 chairs in their restaurant but they would be happy to accommodate us. when we arrived we were a little skeptical. however, when we entered we felt like we were eating at someone's house with friends. donovan was great. we were waiting on another couple to arrive, he asked what their names were and met them in the parking lot inviting them in. the food was spectacular! the staff are sofriendlyand personable. the food, i can't say enough about the food. i wish i lived closer so i could make it a weekly stop. we have already told friends and family how much they have to eat here. the prices are very reasonable. the red velvet cake was amazing. my grandmother loved the carrot cake (and she is a very picky desert eater because she makes amazing deserts herself). they cater and they also deliver if you are interested in that option. but they do have a nice sitting area in their restaurant. you must eat here if you are around savannah!

curried goat was delicious! nice serving of goat and two sides. i had the peas and rice and the mac and cheese, both very good.friendlyfolks,friendlyservice. a great but small neighborhood joint but serving people from all over the city. highly recommended. real food.

delicious! ackee and salt cod was my favorite dish in jamaica, so i tried it here. it did not disappoint. in fact, everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful. the service was extremely warm andfriendlytoo. we will definitely return!

wonderful dining experience!. interested in an international taste treat and relying on urbanspoon advice, we had diner at sweet spice. we were greeted warmly and quickly engaged with the staff about the menu. there were so many things that sounded good it was hard to decide…..so (with the help of the staff) i went for the sampler plate!! i was not disappointed! i had tilapia, shrimp and chicken along with rice and plantains. very tasty and plenty of food ! if the food wasn’t good enough, the staff wasfriendlyand engaging, though not intrusive. if i lived is savannah, i’d visit next week…since i don’t, it will be on be “go back” list next time i am in town.

perfection. i work around the corner from sweet spice and have developed an obsession. first of all, let me say i am a foodie. i come from asheville, nc, the land of locavore haute cuisine and craft beer. moving to savannah has made my tummy very sad. everything is just deep fried and tossed in old bay for the most part. this place is divine. everything is amazing. you can taste the layers of spice and seasoning. it is actually genius. if i could just put my face in a tub and nom nom nom on plantains without judgement, i would. today they were out so i tried the green beans and rice and beans. this guy has managed to turn something as simple as rice and beans into a meal on its own. i always get the jerk chicken or curry chicken, but it is all good. the food here is better then anything in downtown and for 6.50 you just can't beat it!! the other awesome part about this place is the owner. on my 2nd visit i was greeted with a warm (and genuine!), "welcome back!" and today was "i'm so glad to see you again". this guy has to be the happiest and mostfriendlyman on the planet. you just simply can't been sweet spice. unique, delicious, and super inviting!
