where everything's nice!. this is the greeting you get when you walk in -sweetspice, where everything's nice. and it is - i am now addicted to their jamaican meat pies and have sent several people there specifically to try them - all feed back has been great. the oxtail is the best and the portions are huge. i love this place and stop by at least once a week to feed my addiction to the meat pies!! they are hands down the best in savannah.

i’m in from out of town and i’m gluten free - so it’s not easy finding a spot to eat. sweetspice was very helpful and the food is outstanding! two could eat happily on one large entree. jerk chicken and sauce rule!

you will imagine you are anthony bourdain when you sit down to a platter of jerk chicken, curried goat, and oxtail at this charming, small, and modest casual eating spot. this is an eating adventure that is so authentic you'll think your in trenchtown, jamaica. the food is exotic and delicious. the smiling brown face of the owner/chef, and his hearty laughter will charm you from the first. then the flavor of thesweetspices will warm you. enjoy this place!

good and spicy. we visited thesweetspice restaurant just before closing and had the 3-item combos. the jerk chicken was great, followed by the curry chicken. we were the only customers there, so it was peaceful. this may not be the norm. the service was good and the owner/chef came out to meet us and chat for a while. a good restaurant to go to, to avoid the ordinary and the crowds. worth a repeat visit.

tiny but mighty. sounds weird but both my tummy and mouth were smiling.
the owner's a sweetie and the service is good.
what a great lunch (sample platter) at a great price.
the shrimp issweetand perfect. the pineapple ginger juice unique. i wish i'd had some rum to add to it.

if you go, do not miss the bread pudding. i could roll in it.

gotta try it. my group stumbled across this place as we were looking for something different. our expectations were far surpassed. the food is amazing, the staff is very kind and helpful. i am not a dessert person but the owner asked me what was looking back at me from the cooler. i gambled on the key lime cake and it was unbelievable, didn't even make it home before i finished it. i look forward to going back and highly recommendsweetspice to the community.

fantastic place to eat!. i normally don't take the time to write reviews, however this place was so good, it would be a disservice not to share it. it is a tiny little place, with very big flavor and service. you are pleasantly greeted by the owner as you walk in the door. he came and sat at the table with me to go over the menu, make recommendations based on the type food i like, and to take my order. very personable, pleasant and helpful. it wasn't long until the food arrived and it was wonderful and reasonably priced! i had the jerk chicken with vegetables. it was just the right amount of jerk spice and i had asweetsauce with it too! the gentleman that runs this little restaurant is a jamaican chef and he knows what he's doing! put this on your must do list if you are visiting savannah!

best jamaican/carribean food in town. if you are looking for authentic and flavorful carribean foodsweetand spice is the place to go! i was first recommended by my sister to go for lunch and i have been back twice in one week and took my husband with me! their jerk chicken is a-mazinggg and their mac-n-cheese is just as good (as well as their other menu items such as the brown stewed chicken). we will never go anywhere else for carribean food in savannah after trying this place, and we have had a few places that we have visited but not really worthy of a second visit.... and definately pick up dessert before you leave, their italian cream cake is absolutely delicious! it's also very cheap and you get a lot of food... who doesn't like to have a little take take home eh??

all in all this place is definately worth a try! =)

give it a shot. first, i would like to say that good or even great customer service is getting more and more rare nowadays but the customer service atsweetspice is outstanding. the staff is geniunely warm and friendly. now, on to the food. i highly recommend the curry chicken and curry goat. the curry sauce is not spicy at all but very flavorful and the portion sizes and prices are reasonable. there are a couple of other options in savannah to buy carribean food butsweetspice is the only place that gets my business. the quality of the food and the customer service are always consistent.

delicious. i took my son to college in savannah, and after a very exhaustive day getting him registered i was hungry. i drove around but only found the usual fast food, as i was driving down waters ave i saw a sign "sweet spice" and decided to stop. i found out it was a jamaican restaurant, i couldn't believe it , so far away from the hustle and bustle of decatur!! i ordered the jerk chicken and usually i don't like chicken breast because it is too meaty and dry...not so this time, i found it to be moist and succulent, and seasoned to the center, i actually enjoyed it, my son also had the oxtails and wanted more.....this is the best jamaican food i've had in ages!!! keep up the standardsweetspice!!!! i will definitely be back..

wonderful dining experience!. interested in an international taste treat and relying on urbanspoon advice, we had diner atsweetspice. we were greeted warmly and quickly engaged with the staff about the menu. there were so many things that sounded good it was hard to decide…..so (with the help of the staff) i went for the sampler plate!! i was not disappointed! i had tilapia, shrimp and chicken along with rice and plantains. very tasty and plenty of food ! if the food wasn’t good enough, the staff was friendly and engaging, though not intrusive. if i lived is savannah, i’d visit next week…since i don’t, it will be on be “go back” list next time i am in town.
