an amazing find in a city with a shortage of jamaican cuisine. from the warm welcome to the interest expressed in helping you find what you want, one of the highlights of this gem is its owner and his wife.

as someone with previous exposure to jamaican food, i expected at least the staples to shine:jerkchicken, curry goat, fried plantains. imagine my surprise when every. single. thing. was worth going there for. from the drinks -- sorrel, for my dining partner, and the pineapple ginger for myself -- to the beef patty (think a savory, flaky hand pie with delicately spiced filling) -- all of the supporting actors provided a balance of flavor enviable by anyone who's tried their hand at cooking jamaican food. where another cook may fall prey to the trap of oil and grease, the food we had today was so delicately balanced in spice and texture that it had no need for more heaviness.

haven't tried jamaican food before? you will enjoy this introduction. so much variety is available, whether in entree or sides. meat not your thing? try a tofu dish, brown stew or curried. don't miss the cabbage and carrots, and though you'll be satisfied for sure by whatever you eat, save enough room for the bread pudding.

everything was fantastic!. we found this restaurant on urbanspoon. from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and good humor. suggestions were made for drinks and entrées. the pineapple and ginger drink was yummy and refreshing. i am exclusively gf and there was lots to choose from. the best thing (not gf) was the open face bob marley borrito. it was huge! thejerkand curry chicken was yummy as well.
you must try this! it's mighty convenient if you are traveling. its right off the interstate.

i’m in from out of town and i’m gluten free - so it’s not easy finding a spot to eat. sweet spice was very helpful and the food is outstanding! two could eat happily on one large entree. jerkchicken and sauce rule!

simply amazing! went here on recommendations from a lot of friends. this particular outlet is a little small for dine-in so we took the food to go. the staff were very friendly and helpful. we ordered thejerkchicken and curry goat with rice and plantains. the portions were quite big and definitely lived up to all the hype. thejerkchicken was my favorite. the meat was so tender and marinated well. there was a nice kick of spiciness. the curry goat was also good but not too spicy. i loved the plantains!

nice place, nice food & nicer people. had the shrimp, beef rib &jerkchicken all meats were nicely flavored and cooked well, not hot but if you want hotter scotch bonnet sauce is available if you want more heat. at first look the portions seemed small, but with 3 meats on the sampler there was quite enough food even for a big eater like me, i did not leave hungry. rice & peas were good, maybe a bit shy on the red peas, and the cabbage & carrots needed no additional flavorings like so many cabbage dished do. had the fruit punch to drink, it was good enough to be considered a desert. the waitress and cook-owner could not be more nice and friendly. this place lived up to what i had heard. and for the one review i saw that said it was expensive, i would disagree, i thought it was a wonderful value for great scratch cooked food.

sooooooooooooooooooooooo good. best jamaican i've had! i went here a few weeks ago with family after reading the stellar reviews and folks, it did not disappoint!! i had the curry goat,jerkchicken, and oxtail. sides were cabbage and plantains. holy crap, everything was excellent. thejerkchicken was delicious with the perfect amount of spice, but the curry goat was my favorite. i also had the fresh pineapple juice which was out of this world. i really wish i lived close by or had a place like this near me. this will definitely be my #1 priority during future trips to savannah.

you will imagine you are anthony bourdain when you sit down to a platter ofjerkchicken, curried goat, and oxtail at this charming, small, and modest casual eating spot. this is an eating adventure that is so authentic you'll think your in trenchtown, jamaica. the food is exotic and delicious. the smiling brown face of the owner/chef, and his hearty laughter will charm you from the first. then the flavor of the sweet spices will warm you. enjoy this place!

good and spicy. we visited the sweet spice restaurant just before closing and had the 3-item combos. thejerkchicken was great, followed by the curry chicken. we were the only customers there, so it was peaceful. this may not be the norm. the service was good and the owner/chef came out to meet us and chat for a while. a good restaurant to go to, to avoid the ordinary and the crowds. worth a repeat visit.

one of the best places i have tried in town. every aspect of this place was spot on. the food was amazing, the staff very nice and accommodating and the other diners where very friendly.

i had the three meat two side offering and it was just packed with flavor. the ribs were nice and tangy, thejerkchicken was nicely spiced and the shrimp was very nice. the simple green beans were so flavorful and my wife had the plantains that were the best i have ever tried.

this is a must go to place when in town.

authentic and reasonably priced. i had thejerkchicken and the first bite transported me to a beach on jamaica! just the right amount of heat to enhance the other flavors. this is a dining "must experience" while in savannah!

the food was so delicious i had the sampler with ox tails,jerkchicken, and the curry shrimp. the owner came out to make sure everything to our liking. i will definitely be back!!!

authentic caribbean food. super friendly and polite staff/owners from jamaica couldn't have been nicer! i had thejerkchicken lunch and my friend had the curray chicken. both we're excellent and with two sides for $7, great deal and healthy! adding to my lunch and takeout dinner rotation.

we searched for a restaurant in savannah and saw this on urbanapoon. what a great place food was awesome and the service personal. i had the curried goat and my husband had a sampler ofjerkchicken curried goat and oxtail. all was so flavorful great tastes. would suggest to anyone!!

delicious!!. thejerkchicken is to die for!!!! absolutely delicious. for delivery they took longer than the time they estimated but it was worth it. portions are huge!! will definitely order again.
