this is an amazing place that serves gujarati snacks along with a few other regional snacks. it's been there for i suppose more than 1.5 decades and it's still going strong. and i love this place. though the rates are a little on a higher side, but the taste of the food is just amazing and it has been consistent over these 15 years or more. i couldn't find a reason to complain. and, if you visit it during lunch hours, you'll have to wait for sometime as the place is always buzzing with a lot of customers.

we ordered

panki: this is one of my favourites and a signa6dish for swati snacks. you might not find this kind of dish elsewhere. even if you do, i'm sure it won't be as yummy. though it's a very simple dish where one feels nothing can go wrong, it's not so easy. panki is a batter of besan ka atta mixed with curd which is then spread in bana leaf and then steamed. as i said it's a simple dish but when it's served with bharela marcha and green chutney, it tastes outta this world. it deserves a 5/5 🌟

sabudana khichdi: i liked this sabudana khichdi which was served with curd which was delicious and singdana ni dheeli chutney which was also good. but it could have been more awesome. i'd give it a 4/5 🌟

thalipith: oh this was again another amazing dish. this is maharashtra's staple item. it's a paratha made of mixed flours of dals n jowar etc. it was served with green chutney, lachko mag ni dal, n bharela marcha. it was yummmm. 5/5 🌟

chola methi na dhokla: just like panki, this is another signature dish by swati. the dhoklas are served with fresh grated coconut & coriander on top & khatti kadhi. the dhoklas are just melt in the mouth. you won't find bitter taste in these dhoklas (coz it does have methi in it). and they're just amazing. i'm at a loss of words. the khatti kadhi is infused with onions & has a prominent taste of garlic and when drizzled over dhoklas, both these things taste outta this world. i've started drooling over it all over again. i'd say it was 5/5 🌟

we also ordered chhash n sugarcane juice which were really yummy (sorry not in snaps :/) it's 5/5 🌟

go visit this place. i'm sure you'll like it.

my colleague had recommended me swati snacks when i was visiting ahemdabad. i tried baked masala khichdi , sugarcane juice and panki chutney.
each and every dish i tried was totally worth!! panki chutney was something new for me. it is served in banana leaf with green chutney and chillies .it was pure bliss.
sugarcane juice was refereshing and tasty. baked masala khichdi is another dish that was different and totally tasty. i was so engrossed in eating the khichdi that i even forgot to click a picture. but trust me , panki chutney and baked masala khichdi is a must try dish.

today i visited this place at law garden with my colleagues, we were total six. food was delicious, very authentic..
the staff was in a hurry to take our orders, and around 3 waiters were standing near our table, waiting for us to order something..waiters were too impatient for taking our orders. after lunch also they were repeatedly asking for dessert and sweet.

we have orderd pavbhaji, dhaan sak bhaat, thalipith, saptpadi roti and gatta sabji, samosa, panki chatni, but in this much food only it was too difficult to manage 5-6 dishes on the table, the dinner table should be sufficient enough for food for 6 if the table sitting arrangement was for 6 people on that table.

the food and the service are really good, only the waiters need to be patient and give the customers their time, and maybe their privacy while ordering and enjoying their food.

had been to this place when i visited ahmadabad. very clean and nice place. we tried only panki chutney and patra, as our tummy was still full with thali we had for lunch. panki chutney was awesome and patra was little on sweet side understanding gujaratis like it that way. we wanted to have tea unfortunately it was not on the menu. since we came from hyderabad chef obliged and made awesome tea for us and it was really a great chai. it was memorable for my whole family who enjoyed the short break at swati snacks. please keep chai in your menu. it was too good.

this place was crowded when i visited today with my friend. the order was quick d the food was tasty. the only downside is the waiters who i feel are always standing on your head for everything. if this is solved, i will definitely visit again

it's the most simple looking restaurant i have ever come across in ahmedabad. yet it manages to pull crowd like a magnet. you will have to wait for atleast 10 mins before you manage to get a seat here, and this is irrespective of the day you visit this place. always crowded and lively. don't forget to try panki chatni and baked khichdi here. though this place is a bit pricey when compared to others, but its worth all the money.

ahmedabad is booming with great restaurants and eateries opening everyday, making the city a food heaven for gastronomes like me! yet swati manages to top the game! it has to, has to be my favourite place in ahmedabad undoubtedly. being a foodie at heart and soul, this place is a sheer paradise for me! it has maintained its standards ever since the time i remember visiting it (been almost 8 years now).

ambience :
it’s a nice, cool place, with a very simple, yet comfortable seating. it radiates a very homely and friendly vibe. brown benches and tables, with few yellow elements, and a metal framework ceiling, gives it a nice subtle look.

food :
oh my my!!! they serve such ambrosial delicacies. the taste of that, which i had before 3 weeks, still lingers on my taste buds. it was so divine!! the best thing i like about swati is, they serve traditional dishes with top notch taste. the food is flavourful, healthy, and also has a very homely taste and feel to it. it’s very rare to find such a combination at a restaurant. their menu is only two pages, but i promise, whatever you order, you won’t regret it! they still manage to offer a great variety and range of options. every dish is delightful and authentically prepared. so now, here’s what i had in my last visit-

• bedai roti : this was quite an interesting dish. i tried bedai roti for the first time, and i loved how it turned out to be. so it’s basically like a laccha paratha, the dough of which, is marinated in a masala with different types of spices, and the paratha is crumbled a little before serving. it’s served with aloo sukhi bhaji and shrikhand. the sukhi bhaji was yummy, typically north indian to taste. the shrikhand was freshly made, rich in saffron and on point in sugar. now, i found something missing, so i asked them if i could get some kadhi as an extra.i had to mention about this kadhi as it was one of its kind. what a unique preparation! it was rajasthani kadhi with sautéed onions. this was very piquant in taste. it was hard to pin point as to what i loved the most about this kadhi, but it was absolutely scrumptious!

• vada pav : utterly butterly delicious! loveeed how this one tasted and how it was prepared! the vada was super fresh, soft and scrumptious, and the vada pav had a special chutney on the inside. it was served with dry lasan (garlic) chutney powder. reminded me of the amazing mumbai vada pav. this was even better.

• masala dosa : i love south indian food and dosas are one of my all time favourites! this one was very appetizing! super crispy (exactly how i’d asked it), with a palatable aloo-onion masala and coconut chutney. the sambhar was perfect in consistency and on point in flavour! absolutely loved it!

• panki chatni : after such a long time i had panki, and it was one of the best pankis i’ve had so far. super light, and the salt and thickness was perfect. it was served with green chutney and pickled green chillies!

• pav bhaji : i’m running short of words now! it was the best pav-bhaji i’ve had in a very long time! it reminded me of mumbai’s pav-bhaji. the bhaji was top notch in flavour, with very less amount of oil and the pav was heated very well. it was very sapid in taste!

• patra : soft and fresh patra, garnished with grated coconut and lemon. it was steamed and sautéed in oil with mustard seeds and sesame seeds.

• sabudana khichdi : classic upvas dish, sabudana khichdi is served at very few places. it was made with crushed peanuts. the spice level was mild and the salt on point, garnished with coriander.

• bafla : summers are here and so are summer drinks! special kacchi keri bafla, with a nice flavour of jeera, salt and sugar!

• coconut punch : yum! coconut water blended with the rich tender coconut, added with some chia seeds! this was super refreshing!

• sugarcane juice : swati’s sugarcane juice is one of the most famous in ahmedabad. it’s very hygienic and available all round the year!

service :
excellent service! i was extremely impressed by their hospitality and generosity. it’s very unusual to find a place where they’re not counting every extra bowl of sambhar or extra masala that you’re asking for. infact, the kadhi that i asked for, with the bedai roti (which wasn’t even a part of the dish), they didn’t charge me for that either. i’d had two bowls of it, yet i wasn’t charged a single penny. i was surprised! when i insisted my server to take the charge for that, he denied with a smile. the best part is- they serve with a smile. their servers are very polite and courteous. they’re warm and humble and are very prompt in their service. amazing service! 6/5 for the service!

recommended:

swati snacks - a name that i have heard from many, so decided to visit this one.

so ordered the following :

dahi sev puri : decent. request that the yogurt should be chilled so that one could enjoy the same in the scorching heat.

bhel puri : average!

bedai roti : average! the srikand served along was creamy and had the perfect sweetness.

baked masala khichdi : something different. pulao mixed with pulses. layered with curd and fried onions.

spent 900 rs at this outlet for these 4 dishes. out of these, would recommend baked masala khichdi and srikand at this outlet, which one shouldn't miss.
