superior seafood & oyster bar

overpriced, uncreative. it's a chain from baton rouge. it tries its best to be a cheaper, casual version of galatoire's. it fails for the most part. i've had the shrimp and grits and the roast beef poor boy. both tasted okay, but the prices are more than they should be. i'll leave this place to the tulane students who think they're taking their parents to a nice restaurant when they go to superior.

an enjoyable experience. we recently had company who ate a couple of times at superior seafood and raved about the place. so with their recommendation we decided it was time to try the place for ourselves. we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the food and service. normally we stay away from these sort of "big box" restaurants, especially living a city with so many fine smaller options. we ordered off of the main menu rather than the limited brunch menu. overall, the food was well prepared, attractively plated and very reasonable priced. several serves kept up well hydrated on what was a record breaking temperature day. overall, it was an enjoyable experience. the crabmeat stuffed mushrooms were fantastic!

excellent food and great atmosphere. ate brunch and tried char grilled oysters, spinach dip, fried green tomatoes with crab meat, oysters benedict and cochin de lait benedict. excellent food and experience. group also had steak and eggs, crab cake benedict, and nutella pancakes.

great for frozen drinks at happy hour. food is overpriced, small servings, and nothing special. i sis not enjoy my shrimp salad at all. it came with five small, unseasoned butterflied shrimp, cold, soggy, and stale tasting fried feta, and 2-yes two plain pecan halves on as much lettuce that could dress a burger...all for $14. go for happy hour, eat somewhere else.

horrible service, expensive bland food

great food, great service, cool place with great ambience. did i mention it was great?

the wait staff is very friendly and the food... excellent. if this doesn't tickle your fancy, i have no idea what will.

forgot to mention the food my sister in law got lobster and said it was like shoe leather very average food! i am so embarrassed to have insisted we go to this restaurant for law school graduation when everyone we invited have so many restaurants they love...cannot believe we wasted a night like this in new orleans at this restaurant. food average, at best.

great location & great food. when people bitch about the prices of a place it makes me laugh. 1, there is a menu outside & 2 prices are on the online menu. if you go out to eat and complain stay home or cook at home. bbq. is to die for. po~boys are great and great prices for fresh food. try the carrot cake. wow !!!!!! ask for matro nice guy.

four visits. i have visited here four times
-first time i had crawfish&crab bisque (very good) and 1/2 shrimp poorboy (bread too hard and not much taste to shrimp)
-second time i had trout amandine (i really enjoyed this but the entree has now been changed to what ever fish they have/drum/mahi mahi)
-third visit i ordered grill shrmp sesation/i came with blacked shrimp which were much too salty and not what i order/i complained and the shrimp were removed and the same salad sent back with grilled shrimp on it/i did not like this salad had too much feta cheese
-fourth visit i order the superior cheese burger /medium well/it was burned/4 people in the party order this /one was suppose to be medium/they were all burned and inedible.
i will not returned here again the food is very pricey for the value

worst seafood in the area. i've been here for lunch on two separate occasions with a group of coworkers. the building and location are great but that's about it. it is located for all to see off the street car run and i think that's one of the only reasons they will stay in business. i'm sure tourists will keep the place alive. anywho, here is a list of my complaints:

-crawfish etouffee was very soupy and lacked flavor
-their other seafood seems to be prepared by simple line cooks instead of an owner/operator cook that you will find at other good places in the area.
-service was sub par - they don't bring you enough bread/butter and don't refill it promptly enough
-portion size for the money is simply not worth it.
-try to give a fine dining experience without having truly good tasting food
-napkins are extremely "linty" and get all over your dark clothing
-did i mention this place is way too pricey?

not a fan.. i went for happy hour and the oysters were not very good. the price is unbeatable, but it is the only food they serve at a reduced price. they say 2 for 1 frozen mojitos which is a huge rip off. what they actually mean is you can have a regular sized drink instead of a teeny tiny sized drink. my server did not give me any hint of this, which infuriated me. i have never had such an expensive cocktail. the prices on the rest of the menu are exorbitant as well. i will not be returning

great service and lively establishment. seemed popular and my party was very happy with the shrimp and crab cakes. the frozen pomegranate mojito was excellent on a hot day! our server was ryan and she was on point that day.

a saturday afternoon reminds me alot of a boozy brunch in nyc. 1/2 priced alcohol and lots of it. not the biggest fan of the scene as it was terribly crowded, loud, drunk but having said that the 50 cent oysters and the 9 dollar bottle of wine were better than expected. i had the salmon salad and it was pretty good. very busy very loud and sloppy tables but still fun to watch a football game on a saturday

nice ambiance, great waiter, ok food.

the food took a long while to be served given the restaurant was empty.

pricey for "ok" food. there are too many other choices if you want to spend good money on ok food.

go somewhere else.
