really good!!!. try the extra large vermicelli noodle bowl - excellent. the wonton soup was very tastey. friendly service. we'll be back.

a real gem !. best vermicelli bowl in the city !! perfect amount of fish sauce---the fresh basil leaf on the cold rolls makes all the diference in the world --absolutely delicious!! won ton soup broth very flavorful and wontons excellent ! don't take our word for it --stop in and try for yourself ---then spread the word among your friends and family !! and they are open 7 days / week !

always delicious!. i moved from the city centre to lawson heights this year, leaving behind my favourite "within-walking-distance" vietnamese restaurant. i was pleased to discover summer roll close to my new digs so i promptly tried it out. pad thai was my first dish and i had never tasted better. since then i have eaten there many many many times (that's a lot of times!), and i absolutely love the food. the servers are always friendly though it can be quite busy at lunch and supper times so i often try to make it in just before or after the rush.

insider review. i got a job at the summer roll about a month ago and love the family that runs the place. they provide a great atmosphere and the best part is- i get to eat there every day! i have tried just about every single dish on the menu and have not been disappointed once. they offer a whole range of gluten free dishes like summer rolls, vermicelli bowls and soups. they can make anything vegetarian by substituting their pan-fried tofu.

i think my personal favourite so far is the pad thai, satay soups and of course- their namesake summer rolls. the pork ones are best! they charbroil the pork which gives the noodles an awesome flavour. vermicelli bowls are definitely the most popular- they all come with deliciously flavoured meat and a couple spring rolls on the side (vegetarian rolls are available- taro root, potato and veg.. yum!)

i've spent a lot of time travelling through different parts of asia and find their food very authentic tasting. the kitchen is always clean and the food is always fresh. i like working in a place where i know every dish coming out of the kitchen is one to be proud of :)

summer your roll!!!!. first time! was recommended by my boyfriend. hospitatlity was amazing. food was delicious. porportions were more than adequate. i highly recommend this place to anyone whose looking some great vietnamese food. we had the summer roll, spring roll, pad tai, chicken and shrimp cabbage salad, chow mein and ginger beef (that actually tasted like ginger beef). all these dishes were delicious. thanks to the owner and staff for such a wonderful food experience. i will be back. i will be brining friends by very soon. :)

the truth about customer service. the food may be good, i don't know. waited 45 minutes for a takeout bowl of pho and some spring rolls. trouble is, they told me it would be ten minute wait, then after 20 minutes that it would be a couple minutes order was getting put together, then after 35 minutes that it was being packed up and would be out in a couple minutes. people who arrived after me and ordered the same meal i did got their food so after waiting an additional seven minutes i walked out.

delicious! busy but service was excellent. friendly staff. food was fresh. vermicelli bowls awesome . hot and fresh rolls were fantastic! highly recommend to try. will be back!

excellent!. while in town from calgary visiting my family in saskatoon i had the pleasure of eating at summer roll and it was excellent i had the shrimp vermicelli bowl as well as their pork fresh rolls, ginger beef and pad thai which were all simply delicious...all of those items were gluten free which is awesome as sometimes it's hard to find gf in saskatoon. the lady who owns the place is so nice as well as her daughter she said next time i'm in she would spend more time explaining gluten free items. i can't wait to go back! i'm craving a fresh roll from there right now-if only i could find a place like this in calgary!

tom yum ...again. was here right after they opened and had tom yum soup. it was the best i've had...(not saying much, i hadn't tried it much before...i've tried it in several restauraunts since and always longed for summer rolls version) now several months later and several tom yum's later i tried their's again. i was disappointed in how much lemongrass flavour was in it, it wasn't bad but you couldn't taste the more subtle flavours i enjoyed in march. i spoke to the owner and she stated they had changed the receipe but could prepare it like they used to, if requested.....good news to me for next time!
this place still has great customer service.....they really care!!!! i've only been in three times this year and they know my name!!!! the decore is pleasing and the food is priced well.

decore was nice...soup was better. the restaurant is very relaxing, greens and slate. they still are putting the finishing touches on but the decore was light and inviting not over done or not done as in some other restaurants of this type.

i had the tom yom chicken rice noodle soup. i've only had this soup twice before at two different restaurants in saskatoon so i have no idea how 'authentic' summer roll's version is...but as i've said before 'i likes what i likes!'

sr's tom yom didn't have as much lemon grass flavour so i was able to taste the broth base which was very good. the meat seemed to have been pulled off the chicken rather than chopped up chunks. and i don't know very much about asian noodles but these seemed somehow creamyer???? the best way i can describe the overall taste was it felt really home made. ;)

there are a lot of intruiging items on the menu i'll be back to try.

this place rules.. this is my favorite vietnamese restaurant in saskatoon. i have been there for lunch quite a few times now, and the food that i have had is always very good. the presentation is very good too - much better than other comparable places. the service is a little iffy because it's a family running their butts off when the place gets busy, but i can easily overlook that. they are so friendly and sweet. they also have homemade lemograss chili oil at the table, and it is delicious! this is different from other chili oils in town, and as far as i know, they are the only place that makes it this way with herbs and spices instead of just chillies and oil. good pho, good noodle bowls, good presentation, all in all this place is very very good.

i have officially found my go-to vn place in saskatoon! try it out, you won't be disappointed. this restaurant is a cut above all of the others.

owner with history. i went with a friend for lunch today at summer roll and it was excellent. i had b2 pork vermicelli and it was delicious. i had a chance to talk with the owner and this is the 5th restaurant she has opened. the food is excellent quality and the atmosphere pleasant and we were seated right away.

a great addition to the north end dining scene. i've been in four or five times since they opened and the food has been great each time. we typically order a handful of dishes to share. they usually trickle out one at a time. i'd prefer to enjoy them together but the food really is excellent and the owners are beautiful hosts, warm and appreciative of the patronage. try the pork summer rolls, served with fresh basil leaves for wrapping.

best asian food restaurant in saskatoon. clean atmosphere, fantastic staff both friendly and offer great food suggestions, food was prepared quickly and was obviously fresh and good quality. food comes mild but they offer 3 different hot sauces you can experiment with at your table. wonton soup, summer rolls, chicken and vegetable stir fry, and ginger beef were all exceptional! will definitely return as the quality is great and prices super reasonable.

fantastic place. excellent place to dine, friendly staff, modern decor and most important - awesome food. love the pad thai, ginger beef, singapore noodles! if i could convince my co-workers to go out everyday for lunch this would be my restaurant of choice. some people need to relax.

great food, disorganized service/seating. i have reviewed summer roll previously - and once again, the food is fantastic.
however - if you are bothered by disorganized chaos with respect to seating/service, this is not the place for you! it is a family run business - they take great pride in their restaurant/food - but they have become very popular and busy - and they need to realize that the various family members darting out of the kitchen, having no idea what they are doing, is not conducive to good business. if you aren't in the mood to laugh about it, it is very frustrating. of our party of four, two of us did not receive our food until the other two were done eating, and only when we asked about it. we heard this occuring at other tables as well. they try hard - and are very apologetic - but that doesn't help when you aren't eating.
also important to note for some people - they are not licensed. so if you want a beer or a glass of wine with your meal - dine elsewhere.

fresh and delicious. we ate at summer roll this evening for the first time and we will definitely return.
i had the lemon grass chicken vemicelli bowl, and my husband had chicken stir fry with rice. the food was fresh and very tasty, vegetables plentiful and crisp, meat tender, flavors robust, presentation very nice.
the restaurant was spotlessly clean, the server extra-friendly, and the female owner very nice and visiting with patrons, expressing appreciation for our business and sincerely looking for feedback.
a very welcome addition to our neighborhood!
