wonderful. i have celiac disease, so eating out at asian restaurants can be a bit daunting for me. sukhothai has been one of the most comfortable and delicious experiences i've ever had. i go there at least once a month, because almost the entire menu is open to me, and the food is just incredible for a great price. yes the staff can be slightly aloof, but it has never ruined the experience for me. the coconut rice is to die for.

nice environment, horrible food. we ordered 5 dishes in total, and you can tell the same seasoning were used for all of them. in my opinion, too much sugar was used. and curry was not top quality. portion was small yet price was high. for a shrimp dish that had about 7, 8 medium sized shrimps, it costs close to 20.

staff is nice and friendly, environment is cozy. but to get authentic thai food, i would never come here again.

we used to go here few years ago and it was pretty awesome. but lately when me and my bf came in for some dinner, we were told that our table has a reservation in an hour from the time we sat down and we had to "leave" before the reservation time. food was 5/10 nothing special now. not worth the money. there are more thai restaurant in town that offers better than this place.

looking for a new thai eatery. i'm torn because we used to eat here a lot. then we had a few instances when we would pop in for a quick bite and they explained that we did not make a reservation so we couldn't stay. the place was mostly empty each time. they were rather rude in explaining this so we have not been back for years. it would be nice if they would save some tables for walk-ins. i'm now looking for a new thai place that hopefully has better service. hopefully i can find one where the food is as good....

good food, 1 particular server is rude. the first time i went to eat here, we were served by a gal who did not even introduce herself. tone of voice was kinda rude and we felt rushed by her. food took long to arrive, and she didn't even bother asking if we needed anything else. food was good tho, and the place is cozy. that particular server didn't even bother coming back to ask us if we needed water refills and what not. she just kinda left us after the food was served. the second time i went, we were served by a different lady (thank god!) and she offered great service!! waaay better and friendlier than the first server we had encountered. other than the service, food here is good. :)

i've heard the food was great here, so my fiancé and i chose thus place for date night. not realizing reservations were needed, we stopped in at 7:00 and were told it would be an hour and a half wait in a very rude way. the problem was that there were only 2 tables be v occupied, the rest of the restaurant was empty. terrible service. if they had reservations coming in, they could have sag us, served us and had us on our way within 30 minutes rather than turning paying customers away. because of the rude service, i will not be returning to this restaurant.

bad, very bad.. food is just awful, of the lowest possible quality, unfortunately the portions are large which meant we wasted a lot of the rubbish we were served. the service was quick, which indicates that very little effort went into the preparation. i would not eat here ever again.

so-so. it is usually pretty good but if you go on a busy night don't expect the same quality of food. everything was a big step below on my last meal. the sauces were watery with not as much flavour. beef and veggies were overcooked and even the rice was off. the pad thai was still good even though the shrimps were underdone.

it is still good normally so i will update the review when i get a better meal next time. i just didn't expect poor quality just because it was busy.

yum!. this place always looks like it isn't open when you're driving by lol.. but it is! the lighting is just dim inside. the food is really good, although it's on the pricier side of thai food compared to other places in the city. the servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and are willing to provide recommendations when you ask. no complaints.

best thai food in winnipeg - hands down! & as a bonus, it's super clean with modern decor. the prices aren't over the top either!

rip off. sorry, the pad thai had four shrimps and a few flakes of chicken on top of a mound of overly sugared rice noodles: pure carb overload. such decisions are based on maximizing profit and not pleasing the diner. for the price they need to add more protein.

have always had a delicious meal here, highly recommended to say the least. not one single complaint...but just be careful and don't try to be a hero on the spice level. start at a 1 or two if you aren't familiar but either way it's delicious.

i'd been here a couple times before, but after last nights experience, i will never be back. worst service i've ever had at any restaurant. 10 minutes before someone came up to ask us for how many, restaurant was still packed at 8:30, we say down and it was at least 15 minutes before our server came. she didnt ask for drinks, she just monotonously stated "are you ready to order" then took our order. we both god pad thai, one chicken and one shrimp, with heat levels of 5 and 8. food took at least 45 minutes for the appetizer (veggie rice rolls - raw) and another 20 after that for the meals. not only did they take long, she they mixed up the spice levels on two different variations of the dishes. we ended up switching meals because it was so overbearing. she never asked us how it was or if anything was okay until 20 minutes after we were done eating. needless to say, she did not get a tip. food is decent, i sure there's somewhere better in the city.

yum!. i went here with a friend the other day. it was my first thai food experience and it was fabulous! the décor was amazing, not hat i was expecting at all! the staff was very friendly. they have a very tasty and well priced lunch special. for just 10 dollars you get an appetizer and entrée from their selected lunch special menu. it was absolutely delicious! perfect for lunch with a friend. the pad thai was so incredibly good! it did not taste to peanut-y and i got it at a level 4 spice, which was a nice heat. it was quiet and sophisticated and keeps you full without overstuffing you where you have to unbutton your pants! i will definitely be back and i definitely recommend this place!!

good value with a group of friends. six of us made last minute reservations on a saturday night and were surprisingly accommodated. we were seated with other larger groups towards the rear of the restaurant in the largest room. the atmosphere was modern, very clean with the table settings thoughtfully arranged including napkin rings. the only problem we encountered was that the room was noisy probably due to the lack of any wall decor to absorb the sound. the restaurant was also full that evening.
as we did not know what to order we confidently left that up to our knowledgeable waiter.
starters were: rice rolls with shrimp along with a rather bland peanut sauce, but most of us enjoyed them. vegetable spring rolls were also good.
the unanimous favorite of the evening was kaeng phet ( red curry soup with coconut milk broth). don't miss this! we were charged $12 for a large bowl for the group. plentiful!
entrees: pad thai beef was very good as was the panang curry chicken. mee krob pork ( crunchy noodles), pad nut puck shrimp
(cashews with large shrimp!) and pad keang puck (ginger beef) were tasty but we agreed that we would not order it again. steamed rice for 6 people was only $3. we would have enjoyed the coconut rice, but we will order that next time.
all dishes came hot, the ingredients were fresh and vegetables were not over cooked but retained their bright colours and crunch. every dish was appealing and well presented.
we all left satisfied, the food was good and fresh, we only had water but was served in bottles and did not have any after taste, the service friendly and helpful, the atmosphere clean and pleasant and the biggest surprise was the price for each person was $20 which included the tip!!!
great value, especially with a group as you have a larger selection of dishes to choose from. we'll be back.
