i have been a long-time customer who frequents the restaurant at least once a month (not including bi-monthly take-out orders). i have always had a wonderful experience, until tonight.
i had ordered a dish that was too spicy, i had requested it be mild. the server graciously took it back & provided a new one. it was also to hot but i didn't mention it again as my friend didn't mind the spice & there was plenty of other dishes i enjoyed.
just before i finished what was on my plate i noticed a hair mixed with the food (it wasn't mine). i told the server when she came to the table, i wasn't angry, or rude or loud. she brought it to another server where they conversed for sometime at the front counter. to add insult to injury, the server came back & said they couldn't find a hair, although it could be seen from across the table by my friend. i simply smiled & said ok.
i was then presented with the full bill. our table was then ignored for about 15 minutes (the restaurant was not busy at this time). the server who had inspected my plate came to collect payment at which time i paid the bill without question and without tipping.
i would have expected something like this at a restaurant i had never been too before, but i have been a loyal & frequent customer for the past 15 years without incident. had they had taken the $16 dish off my bill i would have added an extra $16 to the 20% tip i usually leave.
very disheartening....i will not return after such treatment.
