food is excellent. attitude is not.. there is so much great independent pizza in the south hills, i don't think i've had chain pizza in years & slice's quality is among the best. the pizza & subs at slice are really great & seem to be of a really high quality. my husband and i have had the plain red pizza; the frisky billie goat - amazing meatballs, goat cheese (maybe a little too much for my taste) & roasted red peppers; and the green monster - basil pesto, spinach, artichokes, again with too much goat cheese & roasted red peppers. all of the pizzas were end-to-end really great, toppings, sauce, crust. we have had two subs: the venetian & the florentine. both were excellent. bread is top notch, house balsamic is very flavorful, hot sopressata is solid.
for as great as all the food has been, the attitude has been the opposite, minus our first order, when they first opened, they seemed very friendly, but each experience after has been subpar. i don't need anyone to suck up on a phone in order or when walking in, but acting severely irritated certainly won't win anyone over. this is what both my husband and i, on separate occasions and together, have experienced. each incident involves the same woman, at least in person i know it is the same & she seems to be the one answering the phone. she is consistently rude, annoyed, & exceptionally unpleasant. i can take a little grumpiness, but this is over the top. i don't really want deny myself the goodness of this place, but i can't justify giving my money, albeit not millions, to people who act like this when there are many local businesses who i really enjoy supporting.
