sizzling tandoor restaurant

i recently attendedsizzlingtandoor on a friday night it, we had a reservation for 7 ockock for a party of two. we stood in the door way for about 35 minutes waiting to be seated as we understood it was the friday night after a public review so we expected considerable volume. once seated we were promptly approached by the manager who thanked us for our patience and happily took drink orders as his serving staff was very busy. our food came after a tasty complimentary appetizer. i cannot say enough good things about the food. i ordered the roagan josh, a recommended dish, a mulligatawny soup which i have to say was the best i have ever had. overall the evening was a few hours long, but perfect aromas, pleasant music with non overpowering conversation around us. it was a great date night. i have even recommended this to my parents who are coming in from out of province. we both had our own menu appetizers, our own entree, shared cheese naan and alcoholic beverages and enough left overs for a large lunch the next day. in the end the evening cost about fifty dollars for the two of us. as we payed our bill the manager thanked us for our business and asked that to tell my friends about my expirience. i happily obliged.

a must try!. thesizzlingtandoor restaurant doesn't disapoint. i have eaten there several times and i have tried many of the menu options and everything was absolutely delicious. i have to say i am now addicted. i crave their food on a daily basis! if you haven't tried it yet you are missing out! my personal favorites are the coconut curry and the cashew korma.

i went tosizzlingtandoor with my friends and had a great meal.  the service was very kind and attentive.  i had the beef vindaloo and it had nice big chunks of lean beef and a great vindaloo sauce.  i ordered it hot and it was indeed hot, with a great complexity of spice and vinegar.  my friends ordered various other curries and they're younger people who can handle spice but i think they found that mild and medium both leaned more to the "hotter" side of things.  bathrooms were clean and sanitary.  there are a lot of great looking options on the menu.  good naan and roti, delicately brushed with oil and with a good soft texture.  i'm not sure if it's my absolute favourite for indian food in victoria but it is certainly very good.  it's nice that they have a vegan menu for my vegan friends.  drinks and food all seemed appropriate in value for the level of quality.  nice atmosphere, good music, not too loud or busy.  a great place for a fine meal, especially with some good company!

first time at thesizzlingtandoor. had the buffet lunch with the family. it was very good and tasty. the service was very good also. will return for sure.

thesizzlingtandoor restaurant is one of my favourite restaurants in victoria!  we have been eating here at least once a month for the last 5yrs and the food is constantly always excellent!  friends have dragged us to "other" "highly rated" curry restaurants and the food has always fall short of the quality ofsizzlingtandoor!  seriously its that good!  my favourite - coconut curry!  lamb rogan josh melts off your fork!  their vegetarian options are wide and delicious.  this place is a gem - service is friendly and knowledgeable - and you can order take out!  you will not be disappointed!

good service, great food. we live thesizzlingtandoor. but unfortunately last night we ordered take out and the restaurant forgot to put enough sauces in the order, not a big deal. just inconvenient as its dinner time at home and we have kids waiting. they were super awesome about it and when we ran back tto get it, they gave up an amazing extra appy with this note. great service. real people. i appreciate that!!

good food, great service. i eat the lunch buffet at bothsizzlingtandoor locations, and i have to say it is probably the best value in town. always a good variety of authentic indian dishes. i definitely would recommend this place to anyone. the service is great and so is the food.

sizzling tandoor!!. amazing food, great service, and good prices makesizzlingtandoor one of my favourite restaurants in greater victoria. if you like indian cuisine and you havent been here you are missing out!

the lunch buffet is fantastic, good price for a lot of good food makes it the best lunch buffet around.

another great meal. had the butter chicken with naan. has to be the best butter chicken ever. good was amazing and the atmosphere was second to none. the wait staff took extra special care of our daughter allowing my wife and i to truly enjoy our meal out. will be back for sure.

amazing food. my wife and i went to thesizzlingtandoor based on word of mouth coversations about how great the food was here. figured if so many people said it was great that it would be a good night out! we were pleasantly suprised! not only was the food good....it was amazing. the level of spice did not take away from the flavour of the dishes. everything was served hot. every bite of the food was full of flavour. we had to wait a bit as the restaurant was swamped but very much worth the wait. would recommend this to anyone. we will definately be back!!!!

awesome people with awesome food. i went tosizzlingtandoor last nite with my friends and i ask the server for some recommendations at first she is kinda embarrass cuz i'm a regular visitor their bt then she recommended me rogan josh., aloo gobi, channa masala, spinach potato wid the perfect blend of spice...... i would like to thank tht indian girl (server) she meet and greet people wid a perfect smile on her face... and food of course add flavor..... just perfect food wid perfect service.

the best indian food i've ever had!. as a person of south asian descent, i am very particular when it comes to indian restaurants. i can honestly say that the food here is amazing! i have been here several times over the past few months, and the food has been consistently awesome. the curries are so flavorful, and the garlic naan is a must try. well donesizzlingtandoor, keep it up!

yumm!. i really enjoyed my meal fromsizzlingtandoor. the naan bread is excellent!! the portions were a bit smaller than i expected, but i will know to order more for next time. spices were just right.

curry nirvana!. always delicious, fresh and exciting food atsizzlingtandoor. we searched in vain for good indian food in victoria and were thrilled when this place arrived a few years ago! divine experience for the taste buds every time. i highly recommend the naan - especially the paneer and garlic naans. i've had everything vegetarian on the menu... all is tasty. the korma and eggplant are never fail delicious. if you eat only one meal in victoria - eat here!

that sucked. i've been to the downtownsizzlingtandoor for the lunch buffet a couple of times and thought it was fine so decided to try it for dinner last night. in short it was awful, the chicken wings and naan to begin were ok but the biryani and vindaloo entrées were abysmally bad. we're talking not feeling well and throwing out the leftovers bad. the food is always central in my view but the service although friendly enough was inept and things were incredibly slow. not planning to darken their door again for love or money.

i visited this place few months back. i was highly impressed with their service,liquor they served.my taste buds were enlightened and most importantly the prices are very genuine. cant find anything cheaper than this.sizzlingtandoor rocks!

best indian cusine in town (almost better than my grandma used to make!). i have been twice and i can tell you the food is absolutely to die for. the first time we went we had the lunch buffet at the downtown location. at $12 per person the buffet was of really great value, especially since i fell in love with the butter chicken and helped myself to three servings! it was such an interesting experience, a busy little resturant that attracts people of many different ages and cultures. our server was very professional and attentive given how busy it was at the time.
we visited the new location in uptown mall and were very impressed by the upscale decor. it was a truly fabulous dining experince. we came in 15 minutes before closing time and the owner personally served us with great charisma and enthusiasm. i had the butter chicken and my friend had the chicken vindaloo. i think that i liked his even more than mine! it has a very fresh and creamy taste of cashew. we had naan bread, and even though we were there late you could tell that it was made fresh to order.

we are very impressed and will be loyalsizzlingtandoor customers for years to come.
