had lunch with a friend on friday 23 march. had made a reservation telephonically - was asked to spell my name etc. when we arrived there was no booking. not a busy lunch there were 2 other tables. ordered sparkling water and wine. the second bottle the waitress poured into the glasses without checking - it was still. no effort was made in correcting the mistake. the starters were good had sushi, the only disappointment was the soy sauce was very salty and watery not kikkoman. the main course arrived - my husband had ordered a bouillabaisse- an orange-pink creamy thick "soup" was served - definately not a bouillabaisse - which is a clear fish broth -classical recipe to be found in every good cookbook. please call it signature fish soup , this had nothing to do with bouillabaisse. my main course arrived , a fillet steak with basting- i want to taste the meat and sauce . the bearnaise sauce was a cheap hollandaise with no flavour not to mention tarragon. the steak was sent back - i received a bleu steak and not medium - rare. i ate it only because i was now hungry. i asked the waitress which other sauces there were , she said mushroom, pepper, mushroom& pepper and cheddamelt ? i had seen a truffle sauce on the menu which i ordered - what came was a purple concoction tasting of balsamico and wine -poor truffle. the lamb dish that our friend had was fair. after ordering wine by the glass , which was poured at the bar and not at the table .the manager had said that it is actually standard that it gets poured at the table. why not ?? the waitress kept clearing all the crockery and cutlery , even trying to take my half full cappuccino.!! i think the service andfoodis overrated and totally overpriced for this. it was in plain english - a disaster .never agai
