tucked into the yemek pazar in eminonu, this place is known for their great, high quality cag kebabi, an erzurum style, rotating kebab. this style of kebab is made of lamb. marinated with yogurt and onions for 24 hours, and then roasted on a rotating spit, with small slivers placed on a skewer, and then served with lavash bread, and sumac infused onions. the menu is purposefully simple, as you can only order this one type of kebab, but its very well executed. i had ezogelin soup, a lentil and mint variety, which was perfectly seasoned, and super tasty. the bread that came with it was soft and chewy…turkish bread is hard to beat. the simple tomato and cucumber salad was very fresh, and the cag kebab was delicious. the kadayif dolmasi was simply luscious. it's a dessert made of shredded wheat that has been formed into a cylindrical shape, filled with nuts, and then baked, caramelizing and hardening the sugars in the roll. after it comes out of the oven, it's covered in syrup again, and served. the cay was also very good. the service is wizard-like fast, and professional. its fun to sit there, watching the myriad of freakish looking tourists pouring through the passageway.
