shrimp were a little overcooked but scallops were spot on. and when they say "how you want it all cooked,blackened, grilled, or fried?" they mean all of it. i found out that i am not a big fan of grilled oysters. overall the food was okay. hushpuppies were good. most sides change daily so dont go by the website menu. go for lunch to try it for a much better price.

outstanding food. as they are very busy, the line is long. as one table/group leaves, another is let inside to (1) order, and (2) sit down. it is a basic concept that some reviewers apparently do not understand. you wait, you order, you sit, you eat. in that order. easy to understand; and, the food is fantastic. not to be missed.

me and my family waited in line here for an hour and a half. and it was well worth it. every aspect of the food was amazing. the fish, the sides(i recommend the lima beans and extra hush puppies) and even the ice for the drinks was great. we were only here for two days, and went here twice. amazing.

the sea shack is eaten at multiple times every year on our vacation. the line is looong (we usually wait at least an hour) but the food is good and reasonably priced.

some people just don't get it!. i've been coming to the sea shack for years and today will be my last time. my family and i tried to enter the door and had to stand in the door way due to a group in front of us. all of a sudden a worker yells shut the door! ok i would shut the door if i could i'm thinking. once inside my wife decides to get one of the few remaining tables while the rest of the family waits inline to order. she no sooner sits down and the manager says you can't sit there because there are customers ahead of you. we promptly walked out the door. the manager didn't care at all as a matter a fact he smiled as we left. well i'm smiling now. this is my first ever review. people like this do not deserve to stay in business. i am a business owner myself and you can't treat people like this and get away with it. it doesn't matter how good the food is it's not worth being treated like this.

horrible!!!!!! not worth the wait! wait staff is rude! fish was awful. fries were waxy and bland. hot tarter sauce was gross. it should be cold. i will never come back or recommend!

great seafood! great deal!. this is the kind of hole in the wall type place that i love to visit! the seafood is great with a large selection of both seafood and sides. everything we had was good, from soft shell crab to clam po'boy. would recommend biking to for lunch, rather than wait in the line for dinner. small place, so the staff prefers that customers form a line outside the door so the order line doesn't congest the small dining area. also seems to be one of the better food deals on the island.

be warned ... very long wait. everything on my plate was absolutely delicious! i tried the flounder with a crabcake appetizer. both were some of the best i've ate, especially the flounder. my wife tried the catfish and shrimp. catfish was good, but the shrimp wasn't all that. definitely had better shrimp. sweet potato cornbread and hushpuppies takes this place up a few notches for me. awesome!! but be warned, we arrived at 10 til 5. (10 mins before they open) , we still waited an hour and a half!!!! food is very good or some of it is at least. but it's definitely not worth that wait!! i would try next time to arrive 30 mins. before they open, maybe that would shorten my wait to 45 mins!!

food was reasonably priced and very good. the wait is pretty long for dinner so we sent someone ahead to wait for us but the entire party mustbe at the doorwhen you are ready to enter. shrimp was very fresh and had excellent flavor.

don't go!. i have vacationed in hilton head for over 12 years and this place keeps popping up on the "have to go" list. well guess what....it is terrible. greasy, greasy and more grease and even the sides are bland. i went early hoping to avoid the crowd and that was good but the food was such a let down. never again. i tossed it all into the garbage.

a must stop when you are on the island. do not let the outside fool you. go inside and be very surprised by the food. eat here every time we come to hilton head.

sea shack splendor. my husband and i had lunch at the sea shack during our stay in hilton head. the place was full of locals so we were hopeful upon arrival.

the food didn't disapoint. i had the salmon and crab cake and my husband had the fried shrimp po boy. everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. we will be back!!

put your snobbishness in the closet. outstanding! from food to concept a great experience. just put your restaurant snobbishness in the closet and go and enjoy a true sea shore experience. this is what seafood restaurants used to be. abundant seafood at a great price. want great service? go else where. want to enjoy great seafood? this is the place. i ran into one of the wealthiest businessmen in the us the night i was there. he waited outside in line like everyone else and was served like everyone else. he knows quality and value! my wife and i operated 2 seafood restaurants in central ohio that were second to none. until now!!

good if a little bit expensive. we've eaten here twice in the last couple of days -- both times impressed by the fish (especially blackened) and the hush puppies. yum!! today i had gene's special which included 3 filets of fish, two sides, and 3 hush puppies. with a drink it was over $18.00. would eat here again but try something a little cheaper.
