definitely a no frills kind of place. the service is a little surly and the menu is a bit confusing and pricey if you try to do anything outside of their presets. that being said, the food wasgreatand this is the only place on the island that i found to get she-crab soup that isn't just a cup of heavy cream. enjoy!

i have being coming to hilton head island since 2000 and lived in the area for five years now. a co worker had talked about the sea shack and said it was amazing. he had heard about it per the rachel ray show. well today i went with my co workers and this restaurant is totally amazing. amazing is putting it mildly. upon entering we were made feel very welcome and we were not rushed at all when looking at the amazing menu posted on the wall when you walk in. i am from dublin, ireland originally and traveled all over the world. i certainly know agreatsea food restaurant. well the sea shack is both amazing and great. i had the shrimp bisque and the fish and chips. we also shared the gator bites!!! a must try when you visit. the soup was amazing and honestly brought back memory's to 1980's ireland where i experienced amazing sea food soups. now here is what really made my day. the fish&chips were amazing. i know my fish&chips again from my days in ireland and my travels all over the world. i applaud everyone that is involved in this operation. everyone from the management team, kitchen staff and wait staff were outstanding. i certainly will be returning here very soon. also my co workers had the same experience. the sea shack certainly rates five stars and more. very clean,greatservice,greatfood and outstanding customer service. well what are you waiting for. a must visit if you are living or visiting the hilton head island, bluffton, beaufort, savannah and charleston area.
looking forward to my next visit and the sea shack is now on my list of favorite restaurants.

get there way before they open or you’ll be waiting for an hour. the food is worth the wait though. fish and chips was the best ever! the menu isn’t up to date on this site and the prices are higher. the shark attack wasgreattoo. pass on their deserts.

usually a wait, but so worth it. no frills eating place but the prices are very reasonable for suchgreatseafood. always a stop for us when we visit.

my family and i dined here a few nights ago on a recommendation and it was awesome.  we had been looking for a place like this while on the island for several days and striking out but finally we made it.  we live in nashville and and frequent local meat and three restaurants.  we were looking for the equivalent with seafood and this is it.  the seafood is awesome, the sides weregreatand they had the best hush puppies we had tried so far.   we took a slice of key lime and a slice of blueberry key lime as well.  the key lime was a perfect finish to agreatmeal.  i had also eaten at the "lowcountry backyard" as well and there the food was carefully crafted to have a unique flavor that perfectly complements all the ingredients of the plate.  at the sea shack the seafood was just  fresh, cooked right, simple, and extremely tasty.  two different restaurants but both ultimately satisfying results.  i tried the key lime at both and preferred that of the sea shack, it was the best key lime we had on the island.

wonderful taste andgreatprice. yes, there is a line. yes it takes a while. or you could call in your order and pick it up. listen this food isn't fine dining quality but it is wonderful for the price. i got the shack attack and paid $18. for everything i got i would have had to pay at least $30 anywhere else on hhi. it was grilled perfectly. it may have lacked on seasoning a little but it was wonderful for someone who doesn't have seafood often and that does not want to pay an arm and leg for un-seasoned food somewhere else. for anyone that wantsgreatseafood at agreatprice this is your place. if you want fancy then this isn't it. overall, we eat here 3 times a week when we come down.

reggies diner meets the soup nazi. i had agreatshrimp po boy on a perfect roll with a few decent sides. it is a bit like seinfeld's soup nazi but if you work through it, you'll have a good meal that is priced well. this place does get too much hype so keep your expectations proper for a small seafood joint and you'll be pleasantly satisfied. two thumbs up

hype is misleading. we read all the reviews and because of those and the price range, decided to try sea shack during our recent (july 2014) stay on hilton head island. first time we tried was a friday night about 6:00p.m. but the line went out the door and across the parking lot, so we skipped that night. went back the next day for a late lunch (about 1:00p.m.) and got right in. however, from that point on we were rather disappointed. don't get me wrong - all 3 of our dishes were good and they included grilled scallops, fried frog legs, crab cakes and other seafood. but considering the abundance of reallygreatseafood restaurants here and how highly sea shack was rated in online reviews, it was a real let down. a small diner with very few tables all in close quarters, once they seat you the food is served quickly. but no one came by to see if we needed anything else and the food, while good, was by no means superb. of the 4 seafood meals we had on hilton head, this was our least favorite.

great quick lunch. this was recommended to us by a local, and we always know to trust their taste! we weren't disappointed, this no-frills establishment hasgreatfood and easy prices. we enjoyed a plate of alligator as an appetizer, and i had a wonderful shrimp burger with collard greens and delightful hush puppies while my partner enjoyed swordfish and cheese grits. everything was delicious and fresh. there was a line forming when we left, but they seem very efficient and i think the food would be worth the wait.

we always question if the hour + wait is worth it and then we eat 2 lbs of grilled shrimp and the answer is yes!greatshrimp and the sides of cheddar mashed potatoes, black bean chutney and seasoned rice top it off very well. this is must do every year we come

love sea shack!. love this place,greatsides,greatseafood, just everything perfect. its my go-to seafood place on the island. moved to hhi from charleston and was missing my fav places but sea shack filled at least a few cravings!

this was our first meal in the island, recommended by a local. super fresh seafood and a fun atmosphere. very casual and small. there will be a line but it's totally worth the short wait.greatlocal spot.
