very famous for their high tea and recommendable to visit during evening.
try to get in early to grab sea view seating as there are limited tables and it's on first come first serve basis.
it's very beautiful to sip their different varieties of tea and enjoy evening sunset with your loved one.


i would definitely recommend to visit sea lounge when you visit taj mahal palace mumbai.

my husband had made a reservation at the sea lounge just for the famous sunset view. unfortunately, when we arrived, all the 3 tables by the window were taken. the usher told us she would call us if any of the window-side tables were available again, but to our dismay, they remained occupied well until after sunset.

we were lucky to watch the sunset from our room at the taj though. the sea lounge has another area which was closed for service due to the covid restrictions. but we were able to take some photos of the gateway of india from the windows there. the main tea lounge has windows that start from above the level of seating, making it difficult to peep out and enjoy the view.

had been on the my birthday i loved the view as i got the great place to sit down ❤️super view❤️great food, great view and great hospitality 😋good thing about this place it’s not that crowded🥳would love to visit it again

spectacular views and excellent spot for high tea or simply to enjoy the epitome of luxury that taj offers while enjoying a scrumptious snack with tea or coffee in the evening, watching the sunset with the gateway of india in the view.

words fall short to describe the epitome of class and sophistication in bombay india that this majestic yet understated sea facing lounge feels like ...i visit here often either with mom or with very dear friends once in a while .. we are always delighted by the staff and chefs leave no stone unturned to surprise us with best in india that the taj mahal hotel of apollo bunder has to offer... the hotel is majestic and if you love places with a lot of glamourous international history and the best crowd the city has to offer, look no further ♥️♥️♥️

the sea lounge, in all it's elegance, offers a brilliant view of the gateway of india. located in the iconic taj mahal palace hotel, the lounge is well known for its high tea where customers are treated to an elaborate spread of the most delicious food. i visited the lounge twice in consecutive weeks and had a great time. my friends decided to go with the al la carte menu and for tea, ordered the taj house blend, which as the name goes, is a blend of assam tea & darjeeling tea. the aroma was rich and heavenly. smoothies are all good. one needs to arrive a little early for a window table to enjoy the majestic view of the gateway and the arabian sea.

i visited this place on 1st jan. i asked the staff for seat for 3, but directly she said u are here for tea and coffee so u can visit our other restaurant “ shamiana”.
do i need to look rich to visit this restaurant whether i can afford it or not. the lady was so rude, i m never ever going to visit this place again. you are discriminating, who are you to decide whether i ll only eat or can have tea or coffee, but that much only o can afford???

we had avocado toast: avocado toast has come to define what makes food trends this decade.it’s healthy and yet ever-so-slightly indulgent.it stems from the british breakfast.
avocado sub:soft oozing avocado,sitting plump on gorgeous soft subs.
cheese toast:cheese on toast is a snack loved by all.the balance of cheese,ever so light sitting on feather-light bread makes it yumm
bombay-toastie: soft white bread is topped with a vibrant chutney masala spices with layers of cucumber, onion and tomato.the sandwich is then toasted until golden brown, concealing an oozing cheese
bhel: wet bhel is called as ‘geela bhel’ in hindi. this recipe is for the wet bhel puri where chutneys are added along with onions, tomatoes and boiled potatoes.
samosa-chaat: this lip smacking chaat made with samosas,chana masala, various chutneys and spices.this is one of the popular chaat snack ever
pav-bhaji: this mumbai style pav bhaji is super delicious to taste and similar to the pav bhaji one gets in mumbai.
aracini:these perfect fried rice balls used with best left-over rissotto and decadent cheese.whts not to like!

taj mahal palace, an iconic hotel, with an even iconic restaurant called the sea lounge which is located on the 1st floor of the old taj section. this place will never fail to amuse you as the ambience is pure class and elegance. also, when you visit this place, you would want to pay for the scenic beauty more than it's food menu. i tried various dishes here, the best ones being the classic cappuccino and also the dahi puri. no doubt, this place is bound to burn your pockets, but this place is definitely worth a try.
but on the lower side, the waiters are more attentive to the foreigners rather than the native crowd. so it wasn't quite a homely feeling. rest, it's a thumbs up.

my friend simran luggani and i thoroughly enjoyed the view and the food. special mention to the scones (served with clotted cream and home made strawberry jam), chaats (tell them to make it more spicy if you like it that way since they also cater to foreigners and make it more sweet for them) and of course, the tea. we had the buffet which was really good. a most visit place. oh and did i mention that the view of the sea was beautiful?
