the ambience was great,the live music was average.we were fortunate enough to get the best table in the restaurant overviewing gateway after waiting around 10 minutes for a table. being year end it was already booked.
special mention of their orange juice,it was the best glass i ever had.
coming to food, we had ordered tomato soup,chicken soup both of which were good. where as the chicken soup was mentioned to be served with garlic chips,it was missing garlic flavour altogether.
however,when we shared this with server, the head chef came to us with another bowl of soup which was too yummy.(and aroma of roasted garlic flavour bursting through)
the head chef was very courteous. needless to say,we became a fan of the level of the commitment they are showing towards customer feedback.
for starters we ordered dahi puri and paani puri. dahi puri was very tasty and was plated the same way as your average dahi puri, paani puri was just average.
in main course we ordered truffle omelette which had really good amount of truffle and served with rocket leaves and asparagus salad.
the other main course was prawns with roasted potatoes and veggies which were served with hollandaise sauce. prawns were really fresh and the sauce was very good as well.
the service was bit slow throughout dinner and it was a hard time getting ahold of the staffs to add anything to your order.
one star in this review is purely for the hospitality of the head chef, people like him make dinner in taj an experience rather than just food.
