thehightea is itself an experience, the staff is always willing to serve better. the menu has so many options and the quality is great. it's definitely worth an experience.

the legendary coffee shop with a fabulous view of the arabian sea.
if you are looking for a relaxing cuppa coffee with great snacks if perfect luxury this is where you have to be..
tried their makaibari tea which was served with amazing coconut and almond chip cookies.
also their veg mesclun salad tasted really good...the dressing was refreshing and totally worth it.
as all lux places a lil heavy on pocket but as its one of the most soothing places you will be in u gotta pay up.
p.s. go for thehightea buffet totally worth the price.

visited here on tuesday evening forhightea buffet...i suppose this is one of the rarest places famous forhightea buffet...

it has good ambience and staff is courteous... buffet spread is ok...food quality is also ok..visit this place for evening view...suited for family n friends..it usually full with tourists...

u will surely njoy evening coffee / tea at sea lounge...

after a spot of shopping on the ground floor, we decided to take a short tea break at the sea lounge, taj mahal palace in colaba, mumbai. walking up the (red) carpeted stairs transports you into an elegant world ofhighteas. the  place is graceful and sophisticated.highceilings, beautiful arches, precious carpets, a musician gently playing the piano, you get the drift…

if i had an option i would rate this place 10/10. and this is not just because it's the taj, but also to do with a fact that the ambience, the service and the whole experience of havinghightea takes you to another level. apart from the food options and the presentation of the the cakes counter, what caught my attention the unconventional team that was at our service. so courteous, well mannered and personalised service without being conscious about their looks these gentlemen demand respect. amazing place. kudos to the management and the whole team

colonial charm. if u looking for a quick and light sunday brunch in luxury - you are at the right place. can't get better. more of ahightea menu - but sufficient menu for a lunch on a normal day. and all of it in perfect fine dining setting with an english feel. service a bit compromised. and live music adding to it. awesomeness.

this is one of the besthightea experiences i ve had in my life so far.. they serve ahightea buffet best enjoyed with the amazing view of the place... the variety of snacks on the buffet was great!...it was a mix of local and continental snacks... had some great cakes and pastries as well... this is an ideal place to go on a weekend and enjoy some real quality food!

what do i start with!!! ambience, service, view, spread, taste... everything was excellent. we came here for thehightea and it was every bit that we had expected. from indian fare like chaat, gujarati farsan, pav bhaji, vada pav, tandoori chicken, mutton kathi roll to international cuisine like scones, quiches, variety of sandwiches and rolls... yummy!!! and don’t even get me going on the dessert spread. top it all with a variety of teas, jasmine being my favourite. peach tea and pinacolada tea were also worth a try. definitely worth a visit again!!!

spent the day showing a visitor places around colaba. he wanted to see the taj and i thought what the heck..despite of staying in mumbai for so long i myself haven't been inside even once! so we decided to go for an afternoon tea. 

this place speaks opulence and has colonial charm thanks to its rich history. when i visited,hightea was in progress and the ambience was exactly as you would find in any top end restaurant in london duringhightea hours. i was in love with the pastel walls, rich upholstery, soothing music and the breathtaking arabian sea view. sea lounge has a huge collection of teas and coffees around the world. the service is quick and the staff is polite. the coffee and milks hakes we ordered were delicious and worth every dime we spent. i will soon visit forhightea and looking forward to adding that experience in this review! i am sure it will be worth additional half point rating :)

sea lounge is my first memory of a restaurant my family loved visiting. the space, the ambience, the service, the food (i still taste the egg toastie and smell the melted cheese pizza from that era).
the piano man playing the best tunes from lara's theme to abba to everything else.
in recent times, it saddens me no end that the menu looks tattered, the serving staff jaded with age and the greenhorns inept at handling a place of this stature. sad. very sad.
i wish the management or the powers that be and decide would respect and counsel their old staff that they are the ones that make this place what it is.

however, do visit for theirhightea. :)

breakfast if you are staying in the taj palace wing orhightea if you are not, both are just beyond awesome and totally worth it at the sea lounge. taj has a class of its own, be it the staff’s politeness, helping nature, or the taste of the food, the spread, the ambience- everything is just perfect.
you need to surely book for hi tea in advance specially if it’s a weekend.
if you are just two, the seats near the window overlooking the gateway are a no brainier.
hi tea has a wide wide spread of cakes - must have along with the other items.
breakfast is like a standard five star breakfast buffet spread.

sea lounge is an experience! so quaint , artistic n stunning! the service, live music, vibe , food, view .. all of it is excellent.

we opted for thehightea and just devoured it ! the desserts were my fav part and the chocolate pebbles were just out of this world!

shoutout to their staff and the girl who sings and plays the piano!

can’t wait to come back!

this place is known for the view!
such a spectacular view of the sea and gateway of india is unmatched.

i went here on a weekend evening forhightea and snacks. opted for the buffet option.
great spread of tea cakes & desserts. i'd say savory options were limited.
in savory, they had dabeli, paneer crispy, vegetable skewers and chaat. on the platter, they also served quiche, vegetable puff, scones and another cheesy dish.
lots of tea cakes, chocolate dipped strawberries, many other tarts too.
overall , love the view. decent dishes. they charge about 2500 per person for thehightea buffet.

food - 7/10
price - 7/10
view - 10/10
ambience - 9/10

very famous for theirhightea and recommendable to visit during evening.
try to get in early to grab sea view seating as there are limited tables and it's on first come first serve basis.
it's very beautiful to sip their different varieties of tea and enjoy evening sunset with your loved one.


i would definitely recommend to visit sea lounge when you visit taj mahal palace mumbai.
