sea lounge - the taj mahal palace

visited here on tuesday evening for high tea buffet...i suppose this is one of the rarest places famous for high tea buffet...

it has good ambience and staff is courteous... buffet spread is ok...food quality is also ok..visit thisplacefor evening view...suited for family n friends..it usually full with tourists...

u will surely njoy evening coffee / tea at sea lounge...

as you will enter theplaceyou will see this dreamy decor with everything perfect all around, the walls, the frames, the doors even handles. i loved the interior of sea lounge

the best part is sea view from the side, this kind of view is not available any where else in india. it ultra gorgeous.

taj has maintained the heritage symbol quite honestly & also the legacy.

make sure to try there delicious ‘chocolate’ & ‘mango’ shake, probably the most refreshing i ever had.

after a spot of shopping on the ground floor, we decided to take a short tea break at the sea lounge, taj mahal palace in colaba, mumbai. walking up the (red) carpeted stairs transports you into an elegant world of high teas. the placeis graceful and sophisticated. high ceilings, beautiful arches, precious carpets, a musician gently playing the piano, you get the drift…

this is one of the bestplacein our country... i love it.. what can you expect out of a food place.. a greatplaceto sit and superb food.. you get the best of them here.. while looking out to the ocean and gateway..

i love the taj tea and almond cookies... they are best in the town.. i don’t know how they make this tea but it is mesmerizing ..

ordered jamaican blue mountain coffee. got the table near the window. its really amazingplaceto be. the lounge is very spacious and tables are at proper distance. the coffee was at perfect temperature, and they gave some biscuits with it. the ambience is calm and serene. there are no loud people talking, you can just relax and enjoy the coffee with an amazing view of the sea.

if i had an option i would rate thisplace10/10. and this is not just because it's the taj, but also to do with a fact that the ambience, the service and the whole experience of having high tea takes you to another level. apart from the food options and the presentation of the the cakes counter, what caught my attention the unconventional team that was at our service. so courteous, well mannered and personalised service without being conscious about their looks these gentlemen demand respect. amazing place. kudos to the management and the whole team

this is one of the best high tea experiences i ve had in my life so far.. they serve a high tea buffet best enjoyed with the amazing view of the place... the variety of snacks on the buffet was great!...it was a mix of local and continental snacks... had some great cakes and pastries as well... this is an idealplaceto go on a weekend and enjoy some real quality food!

so i visited thisplaceon tuesday.., the ambience was as classy as it gets as it is in the taj itself... the staff gave us a window table n i hav to admit the view was epic.. the food quality was too damn good.... the staff recommended us falooda(cool wave) n cold coffe n they were great,especially falooda was the best i ever had. the aalo tikki was also quite good.. the hospitality of management was too good n they were very friendly. overall loved the place...will visit again surely... must visitplacein mumbai surely.

spent the day showing a visitor places around colaba. he wanted to see the taj and i thought what the heck..despite of staying in mumbai for so long i myself haven't been inside even once! so we decided to go for an afternoon tea. 

thisplacespeaks opulence and has colonial charm thanks to its rich history. when i visited, high tea was in progress and the ambience was exactly as you would find in any top end restaurant in london during high tea hours. i was in love with the pastel walls, rich upholstery, soothing music and the breathtaking arabian sea view. sea lounge has a huge collection of teas and coffees around the world. the service is quick and the staff is polite. the coffee and milks hakes we ordered were delicious and worth every dime we spent. i will soon visit for high tea and looking forward to adding that experience in this review! i am sure it will be worth additional half point rating :)

sea lounge is my first memory of a restaurant my family loved visiting. the space, the ambience, the service, the food (i still taste the egg toastie and smell the melted cheese pizza from that era).
the piano man playing the best tunes from lara's theme to abba to everything else.
in recent times, it saddens me no end that the menu looks tattered, the serving staff jaded with age and the greenhorns inept at handling aplaceof this stature. sad. very sad.
i wish the management or the powers that be and decide would respect and counsel their old staff that they are the ones that make thisplacewhat it is.

however, do visit for their high tea. :)

visited thisplacewith a friend . it has a lovely ambience and surrounding . perfect sea side view , ideal to visit during monsoons or early evening time .
however , food was unreasonably expensive for the dish and the quantity served . not worth spending on food , but it is a perfectplacefor a coffee or a small starter just to enjoy the vibes and ambience and perfect music !

the sparkling tea is a must have! the buffet speak is good.
i would recommend to visit thisplacefor its food, view and hospitality. date wort place!

this lounge is in the most prominent hotel "taj mahal palace" in mumbai. thisplaceis known for the view. watching the famous "gateway of india" and the sea while having breakfast is tranquillity. food was tasty and of good quality. thisplaceoffers a wide variety of foods. as every corner of the popular taj hotel this lounge is situated in, this lounge is super clean. service should improve. a goodplacefor breakfast and afternoon tea.

everything here is magnificent. few items like omelette and paratha aren't included in the buffet. you'll have to order from the menu.
