terrible!!. not sure why my original review was removed but this was the worst dining experience i have ever had. to start out iorderedthe chicken and shrimp wrapped in bacon and the chicken was raw. not just under cooked, it was raw. next our steaks were both bloody although they wereorderedmed well. my wifeorderedgrilled shrimp with her steak and was given fried. she told them not to worry about it and they then brought her grilled as well and then charged us for both. it took so long to receive our food we didn't bother sending our steaks back.

was there last week. took 25 minutes to get spinach and artichoke appetizer. took another 35 minutes for main meal to come out. steak was good but had to ask for butter and sour cream to fix very dry mashed potatoes. another family memberordereda chicken salad with no egg, came with egg on it. manager came over offered to make a new one but was told we would rather not wait to get a new one and he could go ahead and take the original back because it was no longer wanted. did not comp the uneaten salad. seriously poor customer service.

i read a lot of reviews that were not so great especially in regards to the service but our waitress was wonderful. melissa was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. we got our food in a timely manner, i got the sirloin and my husband got the prime rib. the sirloin is the better choice mine was a nice thick cut of meat and cooked correctly. the prime rib was thin and served on a piece of bread. prime rib may be a thin he has neverorderedone before. prices were about average for a steakhouse.

had a great dinner here. started off with a wedge salad that is big enough for a meal in itself! it was really good! the 6 oz filet was very tender, but just a tad undercooked. iorderedmedium rare and got rare. i didn't send it back, because i never send food back. too risky in my opinion. it's not good to piss off the chefs. the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome!! we were too full for dessert! i will be back when through this way next.

last time we went there was the last time we went there.  had been there several times.  we live one city to the west.  so it is a drive for us and a walk after you find a parking spot, which is a block or more away.  all was well and we had enjoyed and we had taken guests.  but this time it was just us and my husband had driven so i did not have my id with me.  weorderedcocktails and browsed the menu and the server said she had to see our id's.  so my husband showed his id and i said mine was at home. we are in our 50's and would you believe the girl said she could not serve me without an id.  i said i am over 21, anyone can see that.  she said sorry, those are the rules.  we got up and left and i called the next day and asked about it and they said you might be undercover officers checking on us and i said no other place does this to a person obviously over 40.  so, they lost us for good.  we will never be back to eat their fatty prime rib or their frozen french fries.  plenty of other places a lot closer.  good luck.  and bye.

from the time the staff opened the doors until the minute we left was a great eating experience. the staff was very friendly and efficient, the rib-eye steak & shrimp platter weorderedwas above excellent along with the salad and baked potato. if you are at the boardwalk in bossier go, without drinks we spent around $70.

normally love it, this time, not so much.. we are regular patrons to this saltgrass, we even have the vip card. night before last was unbearable and miserable. we wanted a special family dinner. it took 17 minutes to get tea and order, then it wasn't sweet. our soup came after 15 minutes, which basically means we sat at the table for 40 minutes (including the time before our waitress even graced our table with her presence) which got the night off on the wrong foot. keep in mind we had a 3 year old. iorderedprime rib, but was served a sirloin. another at our table got the wrong steak, and had to wait while the manager and waitress debated who put it in wrong, for ten minutes....at our table. we stayed calm, in hopes to salvage the night .....hoping they would make it right. his correct steak finally came out, after 15 minutes, and it was under temp. he ate it anyway, as we were so beyond giving chances. when the bill came, there was zero discount, not even an i'm sorry. the waitress mentioned in passing that she was sorry she put his steak in wrong. but, let's be honest, they have no idea how to treat customers. sad, really, it used to be so good. the one in dallas doesn't even let your drink get half empty. amarillo has a ton of "foodies" so they won't last like this.

thumbs down. my first time to a saltgrass, it was so disappointing! service was horrible, waited 15 mins to get a drink order & order a appetizer after waiting 20 mins we get the appetizer but still no drinks. weorderedwaited 45 mins got the main course but where was the salad before the main course? waiter didn't even realize till i said something. the filet iorderedwas the bleu cheese bacon wrapped filet, it was a plain filet. the salad i got for some reason had bleu cheese in it. after all of this i was ready to go, i had the waiter wrap up everything in a to go. the food was good but horrible service, waiting & a messed up order i will not go back.

excellent steaks and shrimp platter.. i had the smothered steak, orderedmedium well, and cooked to perfection. melt in your mouth good.
my wife had the shrimp platter, and again with sauces made in house. she said the cocktail sauce was very, very, good. also i tried the bacon wrapped, cream cheese stuffed shrimp, basted with a barbecue sauce, and it was dilectible.
overall, great food, great atmosphere, and great service. i highly recomend this restaurant.

aweful experience!. been to a few and it's been great all around, good fast service, extra tender, juicy, cooked exactly asorderedbut the one in shreveport boardwalk had the worse service by far from anywhere i've been to. the waitress was rude and unnatending. my food was delicious but it did not compensate having to eat it without a drink, no forks until we asked a passing by waitress, no steak sauce, and i dare to say when we tried to get her attention she totally ignored us. the manager was made aware and although i believe in paying for what you consume i think he took it lightly.. i am a supervisor myself and i believe the waitress attitude is a consequence of poor managment. will not be going back i do not care how good the food is if i am being charge for everything i defently expect to have everything!!!

really struggled with whether to like or not like this place, so i will just explain our experience. from lubbock, in town for the weekend. we came on a saturday night around 7:30. there was a 35 minute wait and host staff was friendly. our waiter was nice, but he had quite a few things working against him on this particular night that were outside of his control. 1) weordereda bottle of wine. the waiter asked the bartender to ring it up and apparently he rang up a glass of wine, so initially we were sent that and it was sent back. once this was corrected, they sent the 18 year old (this was confirmed) to present and open the bottle for us. you could tell he was nervous, and he accidentally broke the cork. he took the bottle to the bar to see how to remedy the issue and apparently they sent him back with the same bottle (after retrieving the cork). however, we had cork floating in our wine, so our waiter had to fix that and bring us a new bottle. 2) my salad came out with about a teaspoon of ranch dressing on it, and we had to wait a bit for our waiter to bring more (he got distracted and forgot). once i got more though, i quickly realized the dressing was fabulous (and for all you southerners, it's buttermilk ranch). husbandorderedto prime rib and iorderedthe sirloin and shrimp (coconut and bbq brochette). prime rib was good, but texas roadhouses is more flavorful. i enjoyed the sirloin, but it was more fatty and tougher than what i get at texas roadhouse. we bothorderedour steaks medium rare and both steaks came out as ordered. overall, our waiter did a good job trying to accommodate us, but the other staff made it a bit hard for him. i was particularly unimpressed with the bar staff. when you go to a restaurant priced like this one, you don't send a bottle of wine w a broken cork back to the table. write it off and move on.

under cooked steak. i was not pleased with my first time to salt grass in amarillo. the service was prompt but the steak was not cooked. iorderedmedium rare, and started eating but as i got to the center i realized i have been struggling because this steak was on the grill for seconds not minutes. this was not even rare, shows a lazy cook and no quality control. the cook served this a runner to it to the bar and bartender served and not one person looked at what they served. i am just as quilty to have noticed halfway into the steak.

mediocre ribeye. we love salt grass. it's a special treat when we go, but this time was different. we bothorderedpat's ribeye and it was a perfect medium rare, but it was a horrible steak. very thin, lots of gristle that had to be spit out. lots more fat than normal. very disappointing. we've come to expect much better quality. i can get better ribeye from the grocery and cook it at home and it's much better and cheaper. baked potatoes, bread and salads were good. blue cheese dressing is mediocre. i prefer it with chunks of blue cheese. this was just a thin liquid. the bad steak overshadowed anything good about the meal. we will be very reluctant to come back. plain iced tea was expensive - $3 for a glass.

i ran across the saltgrass as i got into town this evening. they are pretty reliable, so i stopped. it was a bit of a disappointment in some ways. iordereda t-bone (medium), with a bowl of baked potato soup. it took about 10 min to get any attention, and it turned out to be a manager. between the manager and the servers, i had four people at my table over the course of the meal. it took a while, but my soup arrived; it was pretty good as i would expect from a saltgrass. my steak arrived five minutes later. so now i had a lot of food on the table. the steak was more to the rare side. i let it sit for a good 10 minutes while i ate soup; it eventually got to between medium rare and medium. it was pretty tasty, though. the second side was a baked potato that needed a bit more time in the oven baking. the iced tea was excellent. service seemed rushed and less than attentive. it was not the saltgrass experience that i expected. i hope that they were having a problem compensating for some i
