ate there ages back. the first time was such a good experience that i decided to go back .
being a five star there is a certain level of expectation i carry. before coming to the food
1. the plates has scratches and looked old and surely seemed they need to buy new dinnerware.
2. select staff need to be attenttive abd not forget about order placed. fresh lime water in my case.
now coming to the food. we ordered
fish masaman, khad pao, kee mao, a pork in mild pepper and garlic gravy, a simple fried rice and chicken wrapped in pandanus leaf and deep fried
overall an unexpected less than average food
. it missed flavor and quality that is not expected of a 5 star.
the pork in pepper and garlic gravy was average to taste lacking in flavor. but most importantly the size of the crushed peppers were such that you would be biting into it while taking a bite. thats a rather irritating feeling. the masaman curry was served with smelley fish. not only have i had much better masaman, it is appalling that the fish served was smelling rather bad. the only good thing annoy the food is that all starters are within 150 calories abd maincourse under 300 calories.
overall the food quality and flavor was distinctly poor

a fabulous restaurant no doubt! and have always been a big fan of the oberoi service until today. happened to visit rim naam without a reservation - though the restaurant had literally 2 tables occupied we were politely declined a table stating it was fully booked. we were at the polo club for the next one and a half hours, post which the restaurant was still empty without a table being offered to us.
have always had the best experience at oberoi’s pan india, where they have gone out of their way to make exceptions/experiences, but least expected an experience like today. hoping it’s just a one off with perhaps an untrained staff and don’t experience the same again !

went there on my birthday last year. it is one of the oberoi restaurants which is like a little wooden house with open walls, constructed on a lake. it is so peaceful in the evening you almost feel you are away from the din and bustle of the city. full marks for the exotic ambience.
we had ordered on kiwi and one litchi cocktail. both were equally good. for starters we had one prawn and one lamb dish. again excellent! the quantity was also quite filling for two people. we should have straightaway skipped to desserts. but we ordered phad thai for mains. i personally do not fancy thai food much. perhaps that may be the reason why i didn't like the dish too much. but overall, a very fulfilling experience.

the best thing about the restaurant, according to me, is the staff. they are extremely courteous! excellent hospitality. the table which we were seated at wasn't the best, but the food was amazing. hands down the best thai food i've had. i usually don't review restaurants, but i was so impressed with the way we were treated by the staff that i had to write this review. special thanks to anjan, who waited on us at the restaurant, for giving us a pleasant dining experience.

rim naam - a hidden gem within the oberoi hotel bangalore. when i say gem i am seriously only talking about its location, decor and ambience. beautifully set up within the gardens that have an artificial pond with fish, bamboo trees, palm trees et al. one certainly must make a booking before dropping by as the place is decently busy both with inhouse and visiting guests.

when you walk into such a place you expect old world hospitality which has always boasted of immaculate ambience, best of service and outstanding food. but unfortunately we experienced run down ambience, slow and unattentive service and very average food,

so as we walk in we were seated to a very nice table. the table was so wobbly that everytime i picked my glass up to drink water it would come up like a sea saw.. the table was not yet set up after the previous guests had left. so we were given the cutlery and glassware after we sat down. and this is when only about 20% of the restaurant was occupied. the glasses that were brought for us had lint - which tells me the cloth used to polish the glassware is really old and must be retired. it even had water marks .the cutlery was not even polished properly and is obviously old and run down full of scratches. we literally had to wave our hands to attract attention of a server for water. after about 10 mins we finally got water that was at ambient temperature. this happened all night long. we must have carried our own water. couple of times we also got cold water but the consentation on the jug was dripping all over the place while the waiter was pouring. whatever happened to our old friend - the waiter's cloth.

tom yum soup and tom kha soup had oil floating on top and were pretty avg. no distinct flavour of galangal or lemon grass and a typical kick of thai chillies definitely lacked in tom yum.

for main course we had phad med mamung i.e. stir fried chicken with dry red chilly and cashew nuts and
koong phad prik horm sab i.e. deep fried prawns with chilly onion garlic in tamarind sauce, chicken pad thai
chicken pineapple rice. i am a firm beliver that you experience a meal with your eyes first and then the taste comes into picture. well they lost the plot in the visuals itself. both prawns and chicken looked exactly the same. they were so alike that even the server served prawns to the entire table saying its chicken. plus all four dishes were brought from the kitchen on the same plates as the dinner plates given to guests. just like a road side dhaba you eat and get served on the same plates. in today's evolved dining scene i don't think that acceptable. the chicken lacked the flavour of dry red chillies and the prawns were just bad. chicken pineapple rice was exact same fried rice with garam masala that we toss in our home kitchens out of leftover steamed rice for evening snacks. pad thai are traditionally road side noodles but don't think that they mean indian-chinese road side noodles. the food i am sorry but was a total disaster.

the saving grace was complimentary waterchestnut in cream. seemed like fruit cream with all exotic fruits from thailand. i think the manager relaized the shortcomings hence gave us complimentary desserts.

its only because this restaurant is sheltered by the oberoi name that it enjoys such gentry flocking it. if only this place was located outside the hotel where the competition is stiff they would have realized the difference in them and an actual good restaurant.

amazing place! i went here with my family on my sister's birthday and it is definitely one of the most amazing thai restaurants in bangalore. we had a chicken starter which was soft, delicious and flavorful. the phad thai was great! the basa fish was recommended by our server and it tasted amazing! loved it. would want to visit again 💕

this is one of the best places in bangalore to have authentic thai food. the whole place gives off thai village vibes with the wooden roofs and flooring, the fountain in the backdrop, the beautiful gardens and the cave-way entrance is just so thrilling. the place is beautiful beyond words and the food is drool-worthy. we had some classic thai dishes like phad thai, som tam, some jasmine rice and duck roast. it was a beautiful experience and totally worth the cost. thankyou rim naam.

we went here as a large team of 10 during restaurant week. we had reservations for 8 and were wait listed for 2. when we called, they graciously accepted to accommodate us. the restaurant is beautiful and when we arrived our table was already set. eating surrounded by trees and a pond with the soft sound of flowing water is extremely relaxing and therapeutic.

we started with thai corn cakes, spring rolls, thai raw papaya salad and potato samros for the starters. they were all great but the samros were outstanding. our main course had jasmine rice with green curry. hands down, the best green curry i've tasted. when it hits your tastebuds you smell the lemongrass, taste the sweet thick coconut milk and then the thai chilli hit your palette last. the balance is stunning. i talked to the chef later to confirm that the curries have a mix of canned coconut milk as well as fresh coconut. the latter definitely shows in the dish ! our sides were tofu and asparagus with bok choy which were delicious. the tofu was soft and flavorful. for dessert we had the warm banana and passion crumble with coconut ice cream. this was amazing. the sorbet was brilliant. our second dessert was the walnut brownie and vanilla ice cream. simple but well executed. the lemongrass and pandanus thai coconut custard was very subtle. the brulle on top was very well done. the water chestnut jelly in coconut milk was served in a cocktail glass. it was just the right sweet and the jelly reminded me of the consistency of tapioca in boba tea. a very interesting dessert.

on the whole, we had a very delightful experience. must visit !!

this place serves some of the best food in the city. it's a must visit if you don't mind spending double or more of what you would at any other fine dine restaurant. i ordered the thai corn cakes which were excellent. for mains, it was thai flat noodles with some veg stir fry that was customised to my taste. both were excellent. the dessert that made with water chestnut and coconut milk was not to my liking but they got us cheesecake with some ice cream which was good. great ambience too.

rim naam is undoubtedly the best restaurant. i had been to rim naam to celebrate my friends birthday. i booked us a reservation for lunch. as you walk towards the restaurant, you will find the entrance through a cave. as you enter and exit through the cave you will find the restaurant decorated and refreshed with garden views. so, my friend and i immediately decided to put away our phones and enjoy this unique ambiance. there is a beautiful pond with fishes beside the hotel. we sat next to the pond. the music was very nice and soft. the restaurant offers thai food.

our favorite dish was sattay kai re nuea re kong (chicken) with peanut sauce.

the chicken was very soft and tender. cooked to perfection.

we also liked the kaeng phed (chicken) which is a red curry and we paired it with jasmine rice.

at the end of our meal we received a complimentary birthday cake. the cake was really soft and melts in your mouth. the service was exceptional. give my compliments to the waiters and the chef!

in short, it is a beautiful and romantic restaurant to celebrate any occasion. the quality of food is very good. best ambiance. great service.

cost for two - rs-6000 approx.
