4* star rating as the prices are a tad higher. i understand it's a high-endrestaurantbut have been to other such places and prices are relatively lower. had been there for my birthday. it has lovely ambience with cottage like structure above the water. the plants and trees surround the area with fishes in the water and it's beautiful. coming to food :
bangkok veg platter - 4.5/5. it had mock fish (soybean), garlic steamed tofu and king oyster mushroom's. the sauces for the mushroom was nice. everything else was decent
phad kee mao - 5/5 . beware, it's spicy but with good amount of veggies. taste was good
coconut influence - 4/5. a coconut based desert, 4* because of price vs portion.
the chutneys and sauces in the side were also good
also, it was my birthday so they provided a complimentary pastry which was good :).

we had initially reached the bar 6pm and had asked the staff there to make a reservation in rim naam for 7.15pm. we had an infant with us. the staff at the bar confirmed the reservation and then we went to rim naam to dine there and to our surprise they informed us that therestaurantwas full and our name was not listed in the reservation. we told them that we had informed the bar staff and they had confirmed it. all of this was happening while we could clearly see that half therestaurantwas empty. then we had to go back running to the bar and catch hold of the waiter and make him speak to therestaurantstaff and the whole ordeal took us 30 extra minutes. now we were tired waiting with the baby. after our meal we paid in cash and were due to receive rs.670 in change. however the waiter returned 500 saying that there was no change available. does this the behavior suit a 5 star chain ? it utter disdain we left therestaurantand vowed to never return again

gardenrestaurantwith very good ambience.

definitely the best home made ginger ale i’ve ever had anywhere in the world!!

the red wine sangria is okayish - not that good actually.

tom kha soup - really good, but it has mushrooms so ask for it without the mushrooms if you don’t care for them.

papaya salad - pretty good.
jasmine rice and thai green curry chicken - decent, but i’ve had better.

a fabulousrestaurantno doubt! and have always been a big fan of the oberoi service until today. happened to visit rim naam without a reservation - though therestauranthad literally 2 tables occupied we were politely declined a table stating it was fully booked. we were at the polo club for the next one and a half hours, post which therestaurantwas still empty without a table being offered to us.
have always had the best experience at oberoi’s pan india, where they have gone out of their way to make exceptions/experiences, but least expected an experience like today. hoping it’s just a one off with perhaps an untrained staff and don’t experience the same again !

rim naam - a hidden gem within the oberoi hotel bangalore. when i say gem i am seriously only talking about its location, decor and ambience. beautifully set up within the gardens that have an artificial pond with fish, bamboo trees, palm trees et al. one certainly must make a booking before dropping by as the place is decently busy both with inhouse and visiting guests.

when you walk into such a place you expect old world hospitality which has always boasted of immaculate ambience, best of service and outstanding food. but unfortunately we experienced run down ambience, slow and unattentive service and very average food,

so as we walk in we were seated to a very nice table. the table was so wobbly that everytime i picked my glass up to drink water it would come up like a sea saw.. the table was not yet set up after the previous guests had left. so we were given the cutlery and glassware after we sat down. and this is when only about 20% of therestaurantwas occupied. the glasses that were brought for us had lint - which tells me the cloth used to polish the glassware is really old and must be retired. it even had water marks .the cutlery was not even polished properly and is obviously old and run down full of scratches. we literally had to wave our hands to attract attention of a server for water. after about 10 mins we finally got water that was at ambient temperature. this happened all night long. we must have carried our own water. couple of times we also got cold water but the consentation on the jug was dripping all over the place while the waiter was pouring. whatever happened to our old friend - the waiter's cloth.

tom yum soup and tom kha soup had oil floating on top and were pretty avg. no distinct flavour of galangal or lemon grass and a typical kick of thai chillies definitely lacked in tom yum.

for main course we had phad med mamung i.e. stir fried chicken with dry red chilly and cashew nuts and
koong phad prik horm sab i.e. deep fried prawns with chilly onion garlic in tamarind sauce, chicken pad thai
chicken pineapple rice. i am a firm beliver that you experience a meal with your eyes first and then the taste comes into picture. well they lost the plot in the visuals itself. both prawns and chicken looked exactly the same. they were so alike that even the server served prawns to the entire table saying its chicken. plus all four dishes were brought from the kitchen on the same plates as the dinner plates given to guests. just like a road side dhaba you eat and get served on the same plates. in today's evolved dining scene i don't think that acceptable. the chicken lacked the flavour of dry red chillies and the prawns were just bad. chicken pineapple rice was exact same fried rice with garam masala that we toss in our home kitchens out of leftover steamed rice for evening snacks. pad thai are traditionally road side noodles but don't think that they mean indian-chinese road side noodles. the food i am sorry but was a total disaster.

the saving grace was complimentary waterchestnut in cream. seemed like fruit cream with all exotic fruits from thailand. i think the manager relaized the shortcomings hence gave us complimentary desserts.

its only because thisrestaurantis sheltered by the oberoi name that it enjoys such gentry flocking it. if only this place was located outside the hotel where the competition is stiff they would have realized the difference in them and an actual good restaurant.

we went here as a large team of 10 duringrestaurantweek. we had reservations for 8 and were wait listed for 2. when we called, they graciously accepted to accommodate us. therestaurantis beautiful and when we arrived our table was already set. eating surrounded by trees and a pond with the soft sound of flowing water is extremely relaxing and therapeutic.

we started with thai corn cakes, spring rolls, thai raw papaya salad and potato samros for the starters. they were all great but the samros were outstanding. our main course had jasmine rice with green curry. hands down, the best green curry i've tasted. when it hits your tastebuds you smell the lemongrass, taste the sweet thick coconut milk and then the thai chilli hit your palette last. the balance is stunning. i talked to the chef later to confirm that the curries have a mix of canned coconut milk as well as fresh coconut. the latter definitely shows in the dish ! our sides were tofu and asparagus with bok choy which were delicious. the tofu was soft and flavorful. for dessert we had the warm banana and passion crumble with coconut ice cream. this was amazing. the sorbet was brilliant. our second dessert was the walnut brownie and vanilla ice cream. simple but well executed. the lemongrass and pandanus thai coconut custard was very subtle. the brulle on top was very well done. the water chestnut jelly in coconut milk was served in a cocktail glass. it was just the right sweet and the jelly reminded me of the consistency of tapioca in boba tea. a very interesting dessert.

on the whole, we had a very delightful experience. must visit !!

rim naam is undoubtedly the best restaurant. i had been to rim naam to celebrate my friends birthday. i booked us a reservation for lunch. as you walk towards the restaurant, you will find the entrance through a cave. as you enter and exit through the cave you will find therestaurantdecorated and refreshed with garden views. so, my friend and i immediately decided to put away our phones and enjoy this unique ambiance. there is a beautiful pond with fishes beside the hotel. we sat next to the pond. the music was very nice and soft. therestaurantoffers thai food.

our favorite dish was sattay kai re nuea re kong (chicken) with peanut sauce.

the chicken was very soft and tender. cooked to perfection.

we also liked the kaeng phed (chicken) which is a red curry and we paired it with jasmine rice.

at the end of our meal we received a complimentary birthday cake. the cake was really soft and melts in your mouth. the service was exceptional. give my compliments to the waiters and the chef!

in short, it is a beautiful and romanticrestaurantto celebrate any occasion. the quality of food is very good. best ambiance. great service.

cost for two - rs-6000 approx.

rim naam has been a no brainer for years now for thai food. many a calories gained eating at this beautiful romanticrestaurantwith my partner. the only thing that’s a bummer are the insects and mosquitoes due to the numerous plants .

while oberoi is in general my favourite hotel in bangalore, rim naam is fine dining elevated to the next level. while i am no expert on thai food, rim naam takes you by storm and the food here is an experience for all the senses. you find yourself wondering why you haven’t gone deeper into thai cuisine, after visiting this place. you find yourself scrambling through the menu to try out more dishes. if arestaurantcan achieve that, it is not just doing something right, it is upping the game. rim naam does just that.

i went to rim naam on 6th november 2021 on a dinner date with my wife and it was totally worth it.

thisrestaurantnot only lives upto its ratings and hype but it exceeds it. the service provided was flawless, the view was breathtaking and the food was delicious.

we mostly had chicken based dishes that included of couple of starters and then flat noodles alongside chicken in thai curry and jasmine rice. we finished with the rim naam mandarin dessert.
everything was lip smacking, however, if i have to be extra critical, the virgin mojito could have been a little better.

also, special kudos to mr. sidharth who made our visit extra special and his service and recommendations were just amazing.

overall, if any place is worth paying the extra bucks for, its rim naam.

the place is worth the rating. first of all, extremely beautiful outdoor setting. therestaurantis not too big giving a cozy feeling. the dishes are very unique and bursting with flavours. we had tom kha soup & corn and almond cakes for starters, pad thai noodles for main course and coconut influence in desserts. we just loved this place.

a special day and this place, just the setting of therestaurantwon't let you down! add to it the very efficient service from the staff- mr.murugesh, who waited our table was very good with his suggestions and ensured we enjoyed our time there. we ordered the tom yum soup and the grapefruit salad. both made very very well, tasted great. the thai green curry with jasmine rice was not bad but nothing to write home about. then came the amazingly yummy chocolate pastry- i was never a fan of chocolate pastries but this one was so well made n presented that i took a looking to it immediately! had a great time there n going there for again din't disappoint us at all.

we booked this place in advance for a special occasion but realized finally that therestauranthas some serious issue with their table reservations system. this is second such experience with us but this time it was worse than before. in spite of having an advance table booking and also getting a confirmation from the hotel, we reached therestaurantto find our name missing from the list. the worst part is that no staff member has any clue of who takes the bookings or how their system works. they have a register maintained with thousands of names scribbled in pencil and overwritten on other reservations without any date or time details(which they themselves were not able to understand). one of the staff asked us to wait for 15 muins till he arranges a table. but we ended up waiting for 40 mins without any response/ acknowledgement or update. the food and ambience is good (based on past experience) but highly disappointed this time. there is norestaurantor f&b manager to guide or manage the guests. one goodrestaurantgoes off our list!
