terrible!. i live around the corner from otto tomotto's and had been looking forward to dinner at a locally owned italian hot spot. there is always a crowd, so naturally i expected great things.
when my husband and i arrived, there were two open tables and a couple in front of us. we were told we'd be seated momentarily. it took them 25 minutes to bring us to a table. i don't mind waiting, they should have just managed our expectations a little bit. our waiter failed to give us a wine list. no big deal, we grabbed one from the emptytablenext to us.
i ordered the soup of the day, since it was chilly outside and quite drafty in the restaurant. i kept my coat throughout dinner. when it arrived, i was told it that i was "lucky" since it was the last cup of the day. however, it was freezing cold... and wasn't supposed to be. combined with the high salt level, i debated sending it back to the kitchen.
then our wine arrived. it wasn't opened at the table, the cork wasn't provided, and the label was completely ripped off. there were also wine drops down the bottle, which made me wonder if they had poured several open bottles into this remaining bottle. regardless, a bottle in this condition should have never been served at a restaurant.
our entrees were excellent. the food was full of flavor and the portions were generous. the service during the meal was poor. no one refilled our water glasses or asked us how our meals were.
while we were eating, we overheard the owner telling retard jokes. this is completely unacceptable in any setting, especially in a restaurant where your guests could overhear your stupidity.
based upon this experience, you couldn't pay me to go back. further, i was so upset that i'm writing this review... which i never do. otto's has some serious service problems that ruined our evening.
