kids loved it. we came with extended family on a rainy weeknight and were glad to have made reservations. the place was busy, but our table was ready. the service was friendly and efficient. it is a very small place, but not overly noisy as it can be in that size dining room. there seemed to be a lot of regular customers around which gave the room an air of comfortable familiarity. fresh bread and butter was served. the butter had been mixed with garlic powder i think though and tasted a bit artificial, but the bread was very good. we all got salads, and i did not like the apple poppy dressing which was cloyingly sweet and thick. i think the ratio of acid was off. the balsamic i tasted on my daughter's salad wasgreatthough. four of the six of us loved dinner. the young kids had spaghetti and meatballs and an adult order of chicken french. they both ate everything on their plates. the cavittelli with sausage was enjoyed, as was the fettucine with marinara. the veggie pasta had good flavor, but the outer layers of red onion were used and were not appealing, and the carrots had not been peeled. the vegetables seemed to have a very rough chop and looked almost as if they were the leftovers from afternoon prep. overall, it was a decent dinner but i don't think i'd drive from the other side of town for a visit.

delicious italian. a friendly atmosphere - always greeted by mama. consistent quality food (we've been about a half dozen times now). chef circulates to check in with diners. water always kept full. the calamari is excellent. our go-to place for italian.greatto support a local, family-owned restaurant rather than a chain - that's why we just went there again rather than stop somewhere at the mall!

amazing!!!. it was our second time visiting otto tamatto's. we went aug 23rd for our 26th anniversary( which is the 22nd) we are always greeted with such a warm welcome. we even got to see mama, as she made her way around, asking how everything was. i felt like i was in a big family dining room. we started with soup for myself. and salad for my husband. my soup was a creamy tomato clam soup. i'm sorry can't remember the exact name. i just know, i couldn't eat it fast enough, it was so darn good. then i got the special with penne pasta, sausage, chicken and beacon, peas and greens with tomato sauce, and melted goat cheese. omg... it was so yummy and such a large portion. i could not finish all of it. my hubby had the lasagna and meatballs. and he too was a happy man. we ended up taking their amazing dessert home. a trio of cinnamon sugar deep fried bread, one filled with choc, one vanilla and the other strawberry. i could go on about about this place, lol.. but i'll just say this, if you like italian and good portions, otto tomattao's is the place.greatfood,greatpeople. and thank you to our waitress erika, for being so nice. when we walked out, everyone wished us a good night. i told my husband when we leave the restaurant, i always feel like i just left my italian family home after agreatdinner. that's how nice everyone is there. thanks otto tamato's we'll be back again. maybe next time we'll try lunch. :)

great date night. charming and warm italian restaurant. mamma is the hostess and she makes you feel like you are eating in her kitchen. food is delicious: my favorites are the mussels and the fra diavlo.greatplace to have a conversation and good food with family and friends.

great lunch!!!. they first serve you with warm bread to start off. my husband couldn't keep away from my side, the homemade pasta salad even though he had this awesome tasting grilled chicken caesar salad pizza. my son said his burger was delicious. the 3 of us walked away all agreeing that the food wasgreatas well as the service. the prices of the lunch sandwiches were very on par with other lunch establishments like penera's.

great !. i've eaten in italian restaurants the world over and this is comparable to anygreatdining establishment. i think those who had unfortunate experiences at otto's need to give it a second try. we find it to be good quality, very friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. i also like to patronize local business , rather than chain restaurants, and otto tomotto is agreatlocal place to dine.

not much to complain about!. i made a 6 o'clock reservation. we arrived 5 minutes early and were seated fairly quickly. the dining room is quite small, the help was courteous. i believe the chef's mother is the main presence in the dining room - she is on the ball and attentive. the service was quick, drinks were quickly served and our server was friendly. the four of us ordered the seafood medley, lasagna, haddock bruschetta and the seafood cream pesto dish. i also ordered the calamari as a appetizer. the calamari came out quickly and was a very large portion for the 7.95 price. it was served with marinara and a poppyseed sauce. i've never had calamari with poppyseed dressing, but it was good. i would love to see that poppyseed dressing with a bit of spice, maybe some cayenne in it or horseradish (as a option since not everyone likes spicy) the size of the marinara could have been bigger. the calamari was sliced tubes only and was cooked well, although it could have been a bit crispier. he may make them himself as they were very tender and you usually get more rubbery calamari with frozen. overall it was tasty! next the salads. i really like a restaurant that takes pride in their salads, it says a lot about the chef. the salads were of good size, had what looked like homemade croutons, nice tomato slices and olives. i do have one complaint. the greens where a tad wilted and room temp. i assume they have been sitting outside of the cooler for some time. one of our party members ordered the french onion soup. it was not your "normal" french onion, which was actually refreshing. the portion size was perfect, broth was flavorful and not overly salty. there was a couple small pieces of bread and some grated parm or romano cheese over it. it could have been melted a bit more, but it was easier to eat than your normal french onion that has gobs of melted cheese. the dinners were of good portion, i had the seafood pesto cream sauce with pasta. the seafood was cooked well, the scallops and shrimp were tender, the pesto cream sauce was flavorful and seasoned perfectly. the pasta was cooked perfect. the lasagna was nice sized with plenty of meat and sauce, the haddock bruschetta was great! nice big piece of haddock - flavors were good! seafood medley wasgreattoo, generous portions of seafood. the two dishes that had pasta were big enough where we had enough for another meal! overall? i'll go back!! the bill was under a hundred dollars for the four of us, dinners a app and 4 glasses of wine. love the prices! i think due to his low overhead/small dining room he can afford to serve awesome food in nice portions for less. i have seen many restaurants decide that want to grow and want a bigger place and in most cases i have seen the food suffer due to this (portion/quality/price) - i hope the chef continues to keep this in mind, because he has a winning combination right now. definitely call for a reservation!

wonderful!!!. we have been to otto tomato's about 4 times....tonight (a saturday) was our first weekend visit. while we were unprepared for the amount of people waiting to be seated, we knew how good the food/service has been, so we decided to wait. we had reservations for 7:30 p.m. and were told they were running late. anticipating a long wait, we were pleasantly surprised that the wait was only 10 or 15 mins. we were seated at a table in a very close corner. my husband was very uncomfortable. he asked our waitress if there was a chance for us to move to another table, and his request was immediately granted, even though the restaurant was full. we were very impressed with the courtesy shown to us on such a busy night. as before, our dinners were prepared as requested, were absolutly wonderful, and our server was knowledgeable and friendly. good service, good food, wonderful wines = agreatdining experience!! i am so glad we stopped in at otto tomato's on the spur of the moment a month ago because we found a wonderful place to dine!! thank you tim, his mom and dad and the wonderful staff!!

amazing food, amazing people!. we found this place on urbanspoon and after reading the stellar reviews decided to give it a try for my mom's birthday. happily, thegreatreviews were 100% accurate! all 5 members of our party (one in a wheelchair) agreed that the delicious food, fun atmosphere, and - most importantly - owners and staff combined to make this a new tradition. from the moment we walked in the door we were treated like family, and by the end of the night not only had the chef/owner stopped by several times to visit and talk with us, his mother ("mama") had as well. all involved were friendly and welcoming, even though my family and i had never been to the restaurant before. i can't say enoughgreatthings about this gem of a place - and i hope it's there for my family and i to enjoy for years to come. i highly recommend this for fans of tasty (and well-priced!) italian cuisine and a welcoming, family atmosphere. go now!

great little italian restaurant that is very cozy. we were seated right away, but you may want a reservation, because it's a small place and seems to fill up fast for dinner. they start you off with their warm bread, which isgreatand comes with a nice garlic butter. service was very fast and we got our salads fast. the salads were good, withgreathomemade croutons. as soon as we were finished our meals came. huge portions, so plan on lunch or dinner for the next day too. their chicken parm, and the sauce that goes with it were great. very warm and friendly atmosphere, with the owner constantly visible and asking if their's anything anyone needs. will definitely be returning.

loved it!. my husband and i visited otto tomotto's last weekend and had a reallygreatmeal. initially i was pushing for us to go to olive garden but my husband isn't a fan of chain restaurants. i'm so glad we checked out ottos. i was crazy about everything we had. gotta try the italian nachos and the italian twinky's. awesome!

great place!. went there with my wife for the first time last night while traveling in the area. what agreatplace. mama tomotto was very warm and friendly and we felt like part of the family. we live in webster so we don't get to victor often, but we will go there again and again anytime we are in the area. the food, atmosphere and service were excellent and you won't be disappointed, i wish they were closer to us, we'd go every friday night!

what a find!!. our family just ate at otto tomotto's for the first time & we already can't wait to go back. everything was fabulous. from our appetizer of fried calamari, which were clearly made fresh & not frozen to our entrees & desserts. the desserts were their own creation called twinky's (no, not your twinkies from childhood)--a fried italian bread with cinnamon & sugar (like a fried dough) filled with buttercreme. we tried the classic and also a chocolate one & both were so decadent & delicious. our kids are very picky eaters & they loved everything they ate. i was also very impressed with the service. when we went every table was filled yet our service was great. our waitress was very attentive and the owner's mother came over to our table several times to chat with us--even my kids mentioned how they liked talking to her & how nice everyone was. i love the family atmosphere & what a refreshing feeling to not eat at a chain restaurant. you can taste the passion that goes into the food. my son already stated he wants to go back as his special birthday dinner and i will be dreaming of those desserts tonight. what agreatfind!!!

omigosh, how incredibly delicious!. had lunch there today - my first time and definitely not the last. wonderful side of pasta salad (al dente to perfection, shreds of fresh cheese, a delicate dressing) complimented my sandwich. fresh roll, marinated chicken, portabello, pesto. perfect lunch - only thing that would have made it better was a glass of wine. not at lunch, though... :-) service was friendly, we were asked by both our server (handsome young man, girls!) and the chef how everything was. i just had to write the review today. congrats on anothergreatlocally owned place for fab food.
