best italian food in rochester. move over perlo's, agatinas, proiettis, and northside inn. real italians eat atottotomotto's. incredible flavors, endless choices and prices as they should be for pasta. thought that the flavors were vaguely familiar. the owner then told us that he worked at soccer sam's in webster from 2000-2003. mille grazie for restoring our faith in finding authentic italian food locally!! we'll be back and i will be sure to tell everyone including all my friends at the d&c!!

i went toottotomottos with a work colleague while we were in the area for a business trip. this may be the best italian food i had ever had in my life. i have veal piccata and it was wonderful. my collegue and i are both southerners by birth, but were living in the dc metro area at the time. the chef/owners mother sat at out table with us and gushed over how happy she was we had stopped by and how proud of her son she was. she has every right to be proud. i have referred everyone i know that may end up in that area to stop in. of my travels bring me back in the area i will gladly wait for a table.

amazing!!!. it was our second time visitingottotamatto's. we went aug 23rd for our 26th anniversary( which is the 22nd) we are always greeted with such a warm welcome. we even got to see mama, as she made her way around, asking how everything was. i felt like i was in a big family dining room. we started with soup for myself. and salad for my husband. my soup was a creamy tomato clam soup. i'm sorry can't remember the exact name. i just know, i couldn't eat it fast enough, it was so darn good. then i got the special with penne pasta, sausage, chicken and beacon, peas and greens with tomato sauce, and melted goat cheese. omg... it was so yummy and such a large portion. i could not finish all of it. my hubby had the lasagna and meatballs. and he too was a happy man. we ended up taking their amazing dessert home. a trio of cinnamon sugar deep fried bread, one filled with choc, one vanilla and the other strawberry. i could go on about about this place, lol.. but i'll just say this, if you like italian and good portions, ottotomattao's is the place. great food, great people. and thank you to our waitress erika, for being so nice. when we walked out, everyone wished us a good night. i told my husband when we leave the restaurant, i always feel like i just left my italian family home after a great dinner. that's how nice everyone is there. thanksottotamato's we'll be back again. maybe next time we'll try lunch. :)

great !. i've eaten in italian restaurants the world over and this is comparable to any great dining establishment. i think those who had unfortunate experiences at otto's need to give it a second try. we find it to be good quality, very friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. i also like to patronize local business , rather than chain restaurants, andottotomotto is a great local place to dine.

the wife and i decided to go toottotomotto's on a sunday night when our favorite italian place is unfortunately closed. i was really excited based on the good reviews of both the service and food. unfortunately, while the service was pretty good, the good was about as good as olive garden. i ordered chicken parm which was lukewarm and appeared to have been sitting in a warming dish and thrown on some very average spaghetti. totally underwhelmed. chicken parm should be hot and crispy not soggy, over poked and barely warm. my wife ordered something that i can't remember, but she was pretty sure it wasn't what she ordered. it was a chicken dish that was swimming in sauce (not in a good way) and was topped with some giant and confusing fried spaghetti thing. anyway, to sum it up, service was good, food was pretty bad. if you like really good italian food and don't consider olive garden "good" than i would steer clear ofottotomotto's.

best in town. we just had our first experience there. i must say it was fantastic. the place is small, so expect it to be crowded. get there early or make a reservation.
you get hit in the face with good smells as soon as you walk in, like your waiting for sunday dinner to be ready.
we had the fired calamari andottochips for appetizers. both were fantastic. theottochips are listed as italian nachos........i gotta learn how to make these., they would rock at a party. homemade potato chips, smothered in alfredo sauce, bacon, kalamata olives and green onions with roasted red peppers.
i had seafood tomotto fra diavlo which came with giant tender scallops, my wife had the tortellini pomodoro. i snuck a bite of hers and it was great.
the service was really fast. the servers and bus people never go anywhere with empty hands and that is great. it really helps them turn over tables, but it also means we didn't have to wait for anything.
the bill came, and for two entrees, two appetizers, and two glasses of ruffino, we were still under seventy bucks. i was very pleased.
we will surely be eating here in the future, and they even have take out.

say hi to mama when you are there. she was everywhere, making sure everything is as it should be.

for my 40th birthday dinner i choseottotomotto's so you know it must be good. the food is awesome - they have a ton to choose from and everything is great. i had the chicken and shrimp diablo and really enjoyed it. and then for dessert you must try the italian "twinkies"! the service is always top notch and when mama comes around and asks how everything is it's a nice touch.

wonderful!!!. we have been toottotomato's about 4 times....tonight (a saturday) was our first weekend visit. while we were unprepared for the amount of people waiting to be seated, we knew how good the food/service has been, so we decided to wait. we had reservations for 7:30 p.m. and were told they were running late. anticipating a long wait, we were pleasantly surprised that the wait was only 10 or 15 mins. we were seated at a table in a very close corner. my husband was very uncomfortable. he asked our waitress if there was a chance for us to move to another table, and his request was immediately granted, even though the restaurant was full. we were very impressed with the courtesy shown to us on such a busy night. as before, our dinners were prepared as requested, were absolutly wonderful, and our server was knowledgeable and friendly. good service, good food, wonderful wines = a great dining experience!! i am so glad we stopped in atottotomato's on the spur of the moment a month ago because we found a wonderful place to dine!! thank you tim, his mom and dad and the wonderful staff!!

yum!. we went toottotomotto's for the first time last night, and loved it! we got there around 5:30 on a friday evening, and the place was packed. we were told that we would be seated by 6:30, but actually got seated by 6. while we were waiting, we saw many people come and go with their take-out...one way to handle a busy restaurant! service was very quick, with menus as soon as we sat down, salads within a few minutes of ordering, and our dinners out in a timely manner. our food was great--i got the seafood pesto, which i loved, and my husband really liked his lasagna--especially the house red sauce that came with it. we'll be back--hopefully we'll save room to try a twinky next time.

can't wait to go back. my parents took us along with our 3 kids toottot's a few weeks ago. everyone loved it. five of us took some of our meals home since they were very generous portions. i tried everyone's meal and they were all delicious.
as we were pulling out of the parking lot my husband was already planning what he was going to have the next time. he keeps asking me if i have made reservations for next time.
service was wonderful for 7 of us. the prices were very reasonable even though my parents treated us!

what a find!!. our family just ate atottotomotto's for the first time & we already can't wait to go back. everything was fabulous. from our appetizer of fried calamari, which were clearly made fresh & not frozen to our entrees & desserts. the desserts were their own creation called twinky's (no, not your twinkies from childhood)--a fried italian bread with cinnamon & sugar (like a fried dough) filled with buttercreme. we tried the classic and also a chocolate one & both were so decadent & delicious. our kids are very picky eaters & they loved everything they ate. i was also very impressed with the service. when we went every table was filled yet our service was great. our waitress was very attentive and the owner's mother came over to our table several times to chat with us--even my kids mentioned how they liked talking to her & how nice everyone was. i love the family atmosphere & what a refreshing feeling to not eat at a chain restaurant. you can taste the passion that goes into the food. my son already stated he wants to go back as his special birthday dinner and i will be dreaming of those desserts tonight. what a great find!!!

disappointed with service. i went toottotomotto's with a 7-person party and found the service to be extremely poor. our waitress was not accomodating and was quite snotty. she did not want to even check with the kitchen to see if they could get a different kind of meat on a dish. she rushed us through our entire meal, became irritated when we asked for extra sauce, water, or napkins. she asked us multiple times if we wanted boxes for our meals even though we were clearly still eating. she acted like she did not want to "deal" with us and just wanted us out of the restaurant. i ended up getting my meal boxed up anyway just to stop her asking. the food was so-so. my salad was nice, but the bread was hard and crusty and my pasta was bland, despite the fact that it was supposed to be "cajun". i would not go back, simply because our waitress was so unpleasant.
