one hot mama's american grill

my wife, three children and i wanted to try one hot mamas due the positive reviews and our love forgoodbbq. on 4/4/18, we decided to give it them a try. the food was verygoodand the service from our waitress was also very good. unfortunately, however, one hot mamas evidently does not care about their customers. our five-year old daughter accidently forgot her backpack in our booth. the backpack unfortunately had all of our daughters easter presents as well as keepsakes she collected during our week visiting hilton head. we did not realize that the backpack was left at one hot mamas until the next day, 4/5/18, however we had already left on our return trip home, a 20-hour drive. my wife called the restaurant to see if the backpack was in fact there. they confirmed that is was there and in fact identified the bag before my wife could even describe it. my wife asked if they would be willing to ship the backpack to our home in wisconsin, if we would pay for the shipping. the hostess who answered the phone said that she would have the manager call us back to arrange things. on 4/9/18, we still had not heard back so we called and emailed the restaurant. we were again told that someone would call us. we did not get a response to our email either.  several days passed without a call back. on 4/12/18, we again called and spoke to the “manager.” she was rather short with me but stated that they would ship the backpack to us on the following monday, 4/16/18. we thought great!  unfortunately, several weeks passed without any sign of the backpack. i called them again two additional times without any response or call back.  after five phone calls and an email we have now given up. we understand one hot mamas is a very popular restaurant and staff is surely busy, however to be treated or disregarded in this fashion, is unnacceptable.  it’s the definition of bad customer service. they clearly have no regard for their customers, at least only up until they fork over a couple hundred dollars eating in their restaurant. i strongly advise avoiding this restaurant, unless the poor service and behavior is ok with you.

very good. i'm not a big meat eater, but shared an order of chocolate ribs as a starter and just about licked my plate clean.goodfamily place.

still licking fingers. where to begin its all amazing the server was quick attentive and knew the menu inside and out from both a what's what perspective and the more important personal knowledge of how each dish tasted. the decore was nice, very vibrant and bold, hard to place exactly how it feels but it works wonderfully. from the management perspective it was easy to see who was running the place, its fantastic to see the effort to help that i saw tonight planing how flow was to go and keeping communication active to all the servers.

now for the most important part the food, presentation wasn't fancy which wasgoodit felt like a good, overflowing plate ofgoodfood which it was. the table had chicken ribs and a shrimp taco. the ribs were soft enough that when i tried to cut the first one to pick it up the fork come out with a chunk of beautifully cooked pork. a nice thin crust provided the smoky and rich bbq flavour lying in wait under a sweat bbq sauce. the chicken was what i always imagined southern fried chicken, i cant explain howgoodthis is other than i was picking at the coating for 10 min after i was "full". the taco was great, spicy with a little sweet twist and was very fresh.

i will recommend this openly to friends relatives and complete strangers while im down here. i will be in this area for the next month, i might actually try and finish this menu before i leave.

the wait is killer. no where to sit. once you do get down to business, it's verygoodbbq. thought we were going to die with cranky kids shoved under bar with super humid day. they kept doors open and it was not fun. but they had a lot of great food but you have to go early. parking is limited too.

i usually don't like ribs but these are verygoodones ! chicken wings can be better though. waiters are nice and funny too! nice place !

came in based on a recommendation forgoodfood, a chill atmosphere andgoodservice. the brisket plate provided ample portions, although the slaw was so-so, but the fries were solid. the south in your mouth salad provided a great dressing, delicious bacon and pulled pork as toppers. the server was amiable and offered insight into hhi and the menu.

a new favorite. we have been vacationing in hilton head for several years, but we just tried one hot mama's for the first time on this trip. the atmosphere was pretty neat and the staff was friendly. we love wings, so we asked the host what flavors he recommended. he suggested the award-winning hot asian or maui wowii wings, which are both grilled. i prefer fried wings, so i ordered the ranchenero and italian stallion wings with a side of fries. the italian stallion wings were delicious and i would definitely order them again. the ranchenero wings were also good, but they were very spicy (although the menu warns you of that). i like agoodbit of spice so they were still edible to me, but some may find the spice a bit much. i found it difficult to taste any ranch flavor because the spice was so overwhelming. the fries and ranch were verygoodalso, and the carrots and celery were a nice touch (and helped cool down the wings). my dad ordered ribs with slaw and french fries. he really enjoyed the entire meal, and said that the ribs may be the best he's ever had. my mom tried the hot asian wings, which she loved. i tried a bite of them also, and i thought they were very good. just the right amount of sweet and heat. we were very pleased with our experience at one hot mama's and will definitely be back next year. it's a new hilton head favorite!

we actually came here twice, the first time was for their brunch buffet which was just a teaser ofgoodthings to come.  i’ll focus on our dinner for this writing. originally we wanted to order 2 of the best bbq combos and try each of the pulled pork, sliced beef brisket, rib tips, and smoked fried chicken.  unfortunately they were out of the rib tips, which is a popular item, so we got the pulled pork and brisket together and an order of the baby back ribs with the smoked fried chi

food was amazing. we went to this restaurant because of the reviews. we were amazed at howgoodthe food was. i had wings as an appetizer then had a full rack of ribs. best ribs and wings i have ever had. my wife had a salad and hamburger with bleu cheese and was the best hamburger she ever had. waitress was very pleasant. the food was sogoodthe last full day we spent on hilton head we went back. food was just asgoodthe second time. make sure you visit when you are in town.

enjoyed the food, we had bbq chicken, fried chicken (unique flavor b/c they smoke it 1st), brisket & some sides. verygoodmac n cheese! was looking forward to some carolina style bbq sauce since my husband & i are not from here, but honestly the sauce was like pure vinegar & runny. the mustard base sauce was the same, just mustard & runny. we did enjoy the sweet sauce though. would go back if on another vaca here.

i live in a town with not alot of options for real bbq. i was excited to have some at ohm. i was not disappointed. i had the bbq half chicken. it was fall off the none tender and perfectly seasoned. the sauce was sogoodi bought some to take home.

good bar food. not fine dining but verygood"bar food". the prices are very reasonable, especially if you hit them during happy hour. we tried a variety of items and they were all good. we come back year after year when we visit hhi.
