one hot mama's american grill

food is amazing"!. ok so maybe the service could use some work but thefoodmore than makes up for it. we come here every year on vacation and find ourselves sneaking in to this place 1,2,3 times in a week. it is that good. we have never tried the pork because the friend chicken - especially the kids - is soooooooooo good. the ribs are great and sometimes we just get the burger because it is well.....awesome! so many southern places are nothing but grease and salt, but not this. hghly recommend.

my wife, three children and i wanted to try one hot mamas due the positive reviews and our love for good bbq. on 4/4/18, we decided to give it them a try. thefoodwas very good and the service from our waitress was also very good. unfortunately, however, one hot mamas evidently does not care about their customers. our five-year old daughter accidently forgot her backpack in our booth. the backpack unfortunately had all of our daughters easter presents as well as keepsakes she collected during our week visiting hilton head. we did not realize that the backpack was left at one hot mamas until the next day, 4/5/18, however we had already left on our return trip home, a 20-hour drive. my wife called the restaurant to see if the backpack was in fact there. they confirmed that is was there and in fact identified the bag before my wife could even describe it. my wife asked if they would be willing to ship the backpack to our home in wisconsin, if we would pay for the shipping. the hostess who answered the phone said that she would have the manager call us back to arrange things. on 4/9/18, we still had not heard back so we called and emailed the restaurant. we were again told that someone would call us. we did not get a response to our email either.  several days passed without a call back. on 4/12/18, we again called and spoke to the “manager.” she was rather short with me but stated that they would ship the backpack to us on the following monday, 4/16/18. we thought great!  unfortunately, several weeks passed without any sign of the backpack. i called them again two additional times without any response or call back.  after five phone calls and an email we have now given up. we understand one hot mamas is a very popular restaurant and staff is surely busy, however to be treated or disregarded in this fashion, is unnacceptable.  it’s the definition of bad customer service. they clearly have no regard for their customers, at least only up until they fork over a couple hundred dollars eating in their restaurant. i strongly advise avoiding this restaurant, unless the poor service and behavior is ok with you.

nightlife!. if you want goodfoodand night-life this is the place to go!

still licking fingers. where to begin its all amazing the server was quick attentive and knew the menu inside and out from both a what's what perspective and the more important personal knowledge of how each dish tasted. the decore was nice, very vibrant and bold, hard to place exactly how it feels but it works wonderfully. from the management perspective it was easy to see who was running the place, its fantastic to see the effort to help that i saw tonight planing how flow was to go and keeping communication active to all the servers.

now for the most important part the food, presentation wasn't fancy which was good it felt like a good, overflowing plate of goodfoodwhich it was. the table had chicken ribs and a shrimp taco. the ribs were soft enough that when i tried to cut the first one to pick it up the fork come out with a chunk of beautifully cooked pork. a nice thin crust provided the smoky and rich bbq flavour lying in wait under a sweat bbq sauce. the chicken was what i always imagined southern fried chicken, i cant explain how good this is other than i was picking at the coating for 10 min after i was "full". the taco was great, spicy with a little sweet twist and was very fresh.

i will recommend this openly to friends relatives and complete strangers while im down here. i will be in this area for the next month, i might actually try and finish this menu before i leave.

the wait is killer. no where to sit. once you do get down to business, it's very good bbq. thought we were going to die with cranky kids shoved under bar with super humid day. they kept doors open and it was not fun. but they had a lot of greatfoodbut you have to go early. parking is limited too.

excellent customer service!foodwas delicious...ribs were outstanding, burger was delicious, and pork sandwich was great! this will be a regular for us on future trips to hilton head.

i've been coming to the island for 20 years now and by far the best wings on the island. award winning sauces really taste like award winning sauces and the spice is accurate. ordered to go so i can't speak to the service but the place was packed when i showed up and thefoodi saw looked legit. i will definitely be back

horrible. the service was awful. the table that was sat after us was served first. we waited on a table and was told the table in the back was reserved. we were there until closing and no one ever came in to sit there. we watched other tables get refills on their drinks while our cups were empty. the kids ordered no onions on their salad and burger but there was onions on them. ourfoodcame out before the appetizers. everything was cold. the waitress never offered to take thefoodback. the fried chicken i had was under cooked. we never got our to go cups. so we just left after 20mins. i will never go back...

never again. after a 45 minute wait to be seated we were definately hungry. the first disappointment was learning the menu on the web site had not been updated so the one vegetarian item we chose thr list resturant for was no longer being offered. the service was okay, hefoodwas okay, nothing special

great food, great service, and a great family place. we had 18 people (including 9 kids) andfoodcame out quick and everything was delicious. our waiter rob did a great job and the other staff helped as well. it's located in a cool little plaza with other bars and restaurants. great bbq! highly recommended!

food was amazing. we went to this restaurant because of the reviews. we were amazed at how good thefoodwas. i had wings as an appetizer then had a full rack of ribs. best ribs and wings i have ever had. my wife had a salad and hamburger with bleu cheese and was the best hamburger she ever had. waitress was very pleasant. thefoodwas so good the last full day we spent on hilton head we went back.foodwas just as good the second time. make sure you visit when you are in town.

i dont want this taste to leave my mouth. thefoodwas amazing!!! everything we ate was delicious!!! cornbread stuffing...wow!!! sweet potato fries...soooo yummy! brisket...juicy and tender! but the chicken...i don't normally order chicken, but something inside of me said to try the smoked fried chicken

late night dining. we are newlyweds on the island for the first time. the closing time said 12:30. we got there around 11. the server never looked up from counting her money and managed to say in a nasty tone, "i don't think they are serving anything but friedfoodat the bar." my husband went to the bar to ask and they were not serving at all. i just think customer service sucked!

bad manager. the manager in hilton head s.c was very mean.my 2 year old son did not wantfoodfrom there so i bought mcdonald. so we went to hot mama's sat down. my son was eating and the manager comes and says "you need to get thatfoodout of here."so i asked why and she said "because it is very unrespectable to bring thatfoodinto my restaurant ." the i said if my son can't eat here then i'm leaving. she said ok leave. so i left.we also heard roomers about the manager that she is very mean.she was very unrespectable

good food. went for lunch,foodwas good, service was good. i would go back.
