ambience: as you walk into this restaurant you experience a market type vibe with many cheeses, meats, artisanal breads, pasta, desserts, fresh produce and gelato (in other words absolute heaven 😍 & what i would expect italy to actually feel like!)

food: i opted to have the famous lemon chicken caper salad- the flavours in this dish were out of this world & i can definitely see why it is a restaurant favourite. the pastas and pizzas also looked unbelievable & i will definitely return to try them. i shared the cheesecake with a friend & it was so creamy & lemony- delicious. eating at this restaurant is pricey but at the end of the day you are paying for the best quality.

service: our waitress was so friendly & helpful in suggesting the best mains/ desserts- the service was quick too!

conclusion: i'm definitely returning asap!

everyone who knows me knows how much i value good service, human to human. the staff at this branch absolutely shine. i would literally give them a 5/5 rating for that alone; so friendly and considerate, but not in that awkwardly intrusive way. prior to our dinner, i spent a few minutes browsing around the in-store supply of endless italian goodies😍 not only did this set a really authentic ambiance, the staff were so helpful and friendly it got me super excited to eat here!

the food was really delish, although it took forever and a day to arrive. my steak was a little too rare for my asking, but the pasta (sauce) for my friend's dish was to die for 😍 my dad's polenta was yummy-winter-comfort-food but the meatballs were tiiiiny, we couldn't see some of them hidden in there😶 my momma's burger was hugemongous😂🙈 and my sister opted for the deli selection of assorted veggies and salads! super fun and super filling ☺️
the hero of the night was the take-home panacotta, among a plethora of dessert options to choose from 😍❤️ i got too into the food to take photos - oh well guess i'll have to go back. fab!

what a lovely spot in a great centre. i visited this restaurant recently on a fairly cold evening but it was worth it. just walking around this restaurant to see all the different italian items you can buy from cheese to wine. there is an abundance of different and unique imported items that you do not see locally.

it is really not far to travel here if you are coming from joburg and definitely worth the journey.

the cheese board we ordered was very enjoyable as was my vegetarian pasta main dish. thr portion sizes are of a good size. don't forget to finish off your meal with a great desset, cappuccino or a creamy hot chocolate.

the service and ambiance here is great all round. i will definitely be visiting this branch or its sister branch in umhlanga in the near future.

if you are looking for some great, authentic italian food, you should definitely check this place out! the set out of the restaurant is beautiful, with a little market to purchase some goodies and desserts! the food is incredible and the drinks are very italian inspired! beautiful spot! you must be sure to try the cronut amd the conut with gelato!!

i went with my boyfriend on a lunch date. i had the pasta- tagliatelle all fungi.

i really must go back when i have more time to browse through the imported wines! warm atmosphere, good service and good food. the deli is beautiful and invites you to buy more. bread delicious and nice to take home.

friendly and professional staff. food has been excellent and tasty every time. gets very busy so go early to get a nice seat. we will be back!

i walked into what i thought was a very tiny restaurant to a mini italy in the middle of pretoria. the restaurant is huge.
i went on a friday night so as expected it was quite busy, we were put on the waiting list and started off with drinks at the bar. the bartender was the funniest, very talkative and his service was excellent.
to have something to nibble on whilst waiting for our table, i ordered the emmenthal cheese which was served with artisanal bread. the cheese was soft and delicious.
once our table was ready - in 15 minutes - we ordered our mains. i had the grilled filleto with mushroom sauce on the side. very tender and yummy. i wasn't feeling the rustic chips though. i had a bite of the lemon caper chicken. the zest of the lemon was on point. the couscous salad was very refreshing. the kitchen closes at 21:30, which is quite disappointing for a friday night.
and because i can never leave a restaurant without trying any of their craft beers, if they have, i had the citizen patriot light lager. loved it.
the service from our waitress was fantastic.
the hostess though, needs an attitude adjustment. she really didn't look like she wanted to be there.

took my mom here for breakfast. i love the set up with the deli, butchery and bakery. very well thought out with attractive finishings.

i always come out having bought things i never knew i "needed" until seeing it displayed.

the coffee is good, the food was tasty and well portioned. but for me the star was the 70% chocolate brownie i bought to take home later, the best brownie i've bought to date.

this branch is much larger than the durban one which i visited recently... it was a great experience to share with my friends... i find the concept quite refreshing and invigorating... though i just settled for mac and cheese this time... it was pleasant not phenomenal... im scoring it a 4 because the concept of the entire franchise is quite brilliant... i shall return to sample other parts of the menu...

3,5 stars ... i'd rate it higher if only they didn't stuff up the one fundamental breakfast item that's an integral part of their menu. all three of us ordered poached eggs with runny yolks and 5 out of the 6 eggs were over cooked.
this spoilt an otherwise delicious breakfast
they are generous with their portion of perfectly cooked bacon , mushrooms and delicious artisanal breads baked in house.
the service however was great and made up partially for the eggs.


there is a great vibe sitting on the street but walking through the store is a revelation. the fantastic variety of predominantly italian foods on offer is phenomenal

a must try is their cannoli.. it is deliciously decadent and will not disappoint

a true hidden gem amongst the hustle of pretoria life, this place offers everything a foodie can dream of. from pasta that will blow your taste buds away to their wide variety of meats, cheeses and craft beer! a win for anyone that pays old town italy a visit !

we were quite curious about old town and we were not dissapointed.

they have a comprehensive deli and the variety is awesome.

they are also expanding and will be open 2 evenings a week from middle june.

promise to be a great experience!!

we were greeted by the friendly gin cart outside the entrance. a fairly busy restaurant but attentive service. the cocktails are delicious with a bit of a kick. we ordered a pizza, cured meats and sides to share. overall a good experience. pay a visit to the bakery if ur in the mood for a treat.
