old town italy

i love the interior, deli and ambiance - went for lunch twice in the past month - first time disappointed as the lasagne was “out of stock” my husband then ordered ravioli and was served “zio’s pasta” he decided to eat what was served! the beef carpaccio was delicious and the waitress friendly.
the next time the lasagne was available but not at all juicy and cheesy as italians serve it, in fact it was tasty but dry.
our waitress - memory was attentive and friendly.
missing in this italian restaurant is the presence of a real italian waiter or manager - haven’t seen anyone looking italian!
i will goback- even if only for the carpaccio and ambiance!

first time visiting the restaurant. atmosphere is good, music a little too loud.

food was excellent, well portioned and tasted fresh and well cooked. huge selection of wines, of which many are very high priced.

staff were very friendly and helpful and a mistake on my order was quickly rectified and the chef/manager (not sure) came to apologise himself.

i enjoyed the meal and will definitely bebackto try the other options on the menu.

friendly staff, beautiful restaurant with imported products. their food is homestyle italian filling good quality for money food. their gelato...... i have no words. best i've had. i would definately gobackfor more.

the best meal i have ever had in pretoria. been meaning to try this place for ages and it did not disappoint! the best fries i have ever had and the cheesecake was just so amazing! so smooth with the most delicious base! can't wait to gobackagain soon!

if the food at old town italy doesn't wet your appetite then i don't know what will. their passion fruit cordial is to die for and has such an authentic taste, compared to artificial products today. my four salad dinner was one for the books!

this restaurant brings mebackto italy so much!!! literally feels like you’re in a restaurant in italy. this is a purely authentic italian based restaurant serving only the freshest and most home-made italian foods you can imagine, from pizzas and pastas to the most tastiest gelato you can find...the flavors are mind-blowing! oh and did i mention there’s a cute italian grocery store in the restaurant...only the best you can find. definitely one worth to try. it’s a bit pricey but definitely cheaper than going to rome for some authentic pasta.

we went to old town italy for a late lunch today and ordered a very basic aubergine panini and an arancini starter.
the service was terrible and shocking. no specific waiter served us and we continuously called someone to get any form of service.
the two meals ordered were not even served to us at the same time with an extreme delay with no apology or explanation.
furthermore the side dish of french fries was served even after both meals were served again with another delay.
we confronted the manager about our horrible experience and he did not seem to care or offer any form of an apology or do anything to make up for the poor performance.
i will certainly not gobackto this place and would not recommend it to anyone.
horrible service with crazy delays, over-priced average food and management simply do not seem to care when we voiced our concern and disgust.

hands down the best pizza i have ever had. the vibe was great, service was good even though they were busy and the italian sodas were very refreshing. can't wait to gobackagain.

the atmosphere in old town italy is just electric. the deli stocks imported italian wines, cheese, biscuits, preserves and just about anything your heart desires. their gelato stall is a great stop off for desert too. on the whole food here was good but i must say i was slightly disappointed with my gnocchi. it’s a favorite dish of mine and i was intrigued by the inclusion of butternut and dried cranberries but the cheese sauce was very bland and therefore the whole dish was just very plain. the waiters are great, and all their other food seemed beautifully presented and very yummy. i will definitely comebackand give the gnocchi another go some other time.

our parents landed from overseas and we decided to take them to old town for lunch yesterday,we were well taken care of by our sweet friendly and professional waiter zeb. the service was so smooth throughout but was absolutely gutted when l arrived to find majority of dishes were changed, but zeb quickly recommended  250g fillet special with peppercorn sauce served with vegies and sweet potato fries, it was absolutely succulent.we will bebackbecause service is on point and amazing decor, really love it

perfect for a date night. loved the ambiance, you get a real taste of italy. friendly staff and good service. we enjoyed the pasta and look forward to gobackand try the pizzas.

spent a night here with some friends not knowing what to expect. between the meat anc cheese platters we were extremely impressed with the food, setting and the amount of work done to give it an authentic feel. can’t wait to gobackagain and try out their desserts.

i used to visit this place at least 3 times a week as the food is really good, but today a had a really bad experience as the quality of food was not the great and did not taste well, i said to them just bring me the bill as the food was not tasting right , instead of asking to make a new one he asked would you like that take away...pathetic !!!
if you continue to treat loyal customers this way soon you will have none!!!
just because your food is great this does not mean you can lack on your service,
i will be not comingbackto this establishment nor will i be telling any of my clients to schedule any meetings and i will be advising everyone i know do not go to this establishment.
as to me this is all about principal which is what i explained to your gentlemen at your place , he just looked and smiled and said hope to see you again ....absolutely pathetic

i really hope for your sake your service levels improve as eventually you will jot have enough customers to be sustainable !!!
