lovely place and quite a popular spot. food isgoodbut as only one of two customers in the store for breakfast i would have expected more attentive service.

everyone who knows me knows how much i valuegoodservice, human to human. the staff at this branch absolutely shine. i would literally give them a 5/5 rating for that alone; so friendly and considerate, but not in that awkwardly intrusive way. prior to our dinner, i spent a few minutes browsing around the in-store supply of endless italian goodies😍 not only did this set a really authentic ambiance, the staff were so helpful and friendly it got me super excited to eat here!

the food was really delish, although it took forever and a day to arrive. my steak was a little too rare for my asking, but the pasta (sauce) for my friend's dish was to die for 😍 my dad's polenta was yummy-winter-comfort-food but the meatballs were tiiiiny, we couldn't see some of them hidden in there😶 my momma's burger was hugemongous😂🙈 and my sister opted for the deli selection of assorted veggies and salads! super fun and super filling ☺️
the hero of the night was the take-home panacotta, among a plethora of dessert options to choose from 😍❤️ i got too into the food to take photos - oh well guess i'll have to go back. fab!

what a lovely spot in a great centre. i visited this restaurant recently on a fairly cold evening but it was worth it. just walking around this restaurant to see all the different italian items you can buy from cheese to wine. there is an abundance of different and unique imported items that you do not see locally.

it is really not far to travel here if you are coming from joburg and definitely worth the journey.

the cheese board we ordered was very enjoyable as was my vegetarian pasta main dish. thr portion sizes are of agoodsize. don't forget to finish off your meal with a great desset, cappuccino or a creamy hot chocolate.

the service and ambiance here is great all round. i will definitely be visiting this branch or its sister branch in umhlanga in the near future.

i really must go back when i have more time to browse through the imported wines! warm atmosphere,goodservice andgoodfood. the deli is beautiful and invites you to buy more. bread delicious and nice to take home.

we were greeted by the friendly gin cart outside the entrance. a fairly busy restaurant but attentive service. the cocktails are delicious with a bit of a kick. we ordered a pizza, cured meats and sides to share. overall agoodexperience. pay a visit to the bakery if ur in the mood for a treat.

there is poor front of house as this is a restaurant and shop setup. adding to the confusion is that there are two entrances . this place needs strong management to drive this bus !! we were basically ignored and we had to ask for a table and if we could have a meal. . all though fairly empty, staff pushed for time. pizza was good....

although the food here is great, the service seems to spoil the experience everytime. with the space being made smaller, it really feels crowded at peak times. if you are ok with waiting long for your food, it has always beengoodwhen it eventually arrives.

hands down the best pizza i have ever had. the vibe was great, service wasgoodeven though they were busy and the italian sodas were very refreshing. can't wait to go back again.

this really is one of my favourite restaurants of all time. the durban branch is the reason this place came to fruition and is well worth a visit, if you’re in the area.

service isgoodon agoodday and bad on a bad day. waiters are usually running around, but managers are attentive and try to connect with customers.

decor is beautiful and matches the authentic italian menu. it’s divided into sections, meats, cheeses, deli & baked goods (the section you’ll find in heaven one day).

menu is diverse. brekkie, lunch and dinner available. opens early and closes late. their breakfast’s are delicious, i had a continental & hubby had the french toast. i often have the ovo sapiens or shakshuka - all delightful. their gelato is some of the best ice-cream i’ve had and their cronuts are worth driving for!

oh, also the authentic canoli is another standout.

i had a hard time rating this restaurant. i have been here a few times because of the feeling of the place and the fact that it’s something different. the menu is wonderful with somegoodchoices re pizza and pasta. what let us down the last time we went was the service. our waiter neglected to tell us that the kitchen was closing in half an hour, and had i not asked we would have not been able to order anything. we were told the bar would be closing at that time too, but then noticed another waiter carrying drinks to an outside table about an hour after we were told that we won’t be able to order anything more. a slight frustration on our part was the unprofessionalism of the waiting staff. as a paying customer, it is not fair to have to be subjected to loud laughing and pretending to fall over while patrons are trying to enjoy a meal and chat. it was done right by the pastry section, 4 or 5 waiters, just chatting away and oblivious to the people around them. it took ages to get our bill because our waiter seemed more interested in joining the communal chat rather than serving customers.

the atmosphere in old town italy is just electric. the deli stocks imported italian wines, cheese, biscuits, preserves and just about anything your heart desires. their gelato stall is a great stop off for desert too. on the whole food here wasgoodbut i must say i was slightly disappointed with my gnocchi. it’s a favorite dish of mine and i was intrigued by the inclusion of butternut and dried cranberries but the cheese sauce was very bland and therefore the whole dish was just very plain. the waiters are great, and all their other food seemed beautifully presented and very yummy. i will definitely come back and give the gnocchi another go some other time.

great food but service is shocking! manager was extremely rude and had a very bad attitude! very disappointing as we have been here before and we had agoodexperience! you need more waiters for outside area we weren’t the only people complaining about the service
