old town italy offers the abundance, the comfort and the pure joy that only italian food can render..

from its simple custom deli platters to its flavorful pastas and pizzas old town italy allowed us a night ofgreatconversation with awesome friends and amazing food...only to be outdone by the gelato (the perfect night cap)

i'd have rated this a little more, but the service needs a bit of work. lovely deli style place with seating indoors and out. focus on some really healthy options - i had the jolly green juice (celery, broccoli, cucumber - nicer than it sounds!). lunch options were calamari, melanzane, mushroom pasta and chicken - all very very yummy. followed by agreatcappuccino. nice find!!!!

had the greatest brunch here - it was a public holiday so the place was packed. nevertheless i was starving so we just decided to eat at the bar. loved the vibe - staff were friendly and efficient.
the pasta was just enough to keep you full but not make you feel like you over indulged and needless to say i’m a sucker for a wood oven pizza. this wasgreatcould taste every topping. i left with a huge box of desserts and to ming jars. completely content.

what a lovely spot in agreatcentre. i visited this restaurant recently on a fairly cold evening but it was worth it. just walking around this restaurant to see all the different italian items you can buy from cheese to wine. there is an abundance of different and unique imported items that you do not see locally.

it is really not far to travel here if you are coming from joburg and definitely worth the journey.

the cheese board we ordered was very enjoyable as was my vegetarian pasta main dish. thr portion sizes are of a good size. don't forget to finish off your meal with agreatdesset, cappuccino or a creamy hot chocolate.

the service and ambiance here isgreatall round. i will definitely be visiting this branch or its sister branch in umhlanga in the near future.

this branch is much larger than the durban one which i visited recently... it was agreatexperience to share with my friends... i find the concept quite refreshing and invigorating... though i just settled for mac and cheese this time... it was pleasant not phenomenal... im scoring it a 4 because the concept of the entire franchise is quite brilliant... i shall return to sample other parts of the menu...

3,5 stars ... i'd rate it higher if only they didn't stuff up the one fundamental breakfast item that's an integral part of their menu. all three of us ordered poached eggs with runny yolks and 5 out of the 6 eggs were over cooked.
this spoilt an otherwise delicious breakfast
they are generous with their portion of perfectly cooked bacon , mushrooms and delicious artisanal breads baked in house.
the service however wasgreatand made up partially for the eggs.


there is agreatvibe sitting on the street but walking through the store is a revelation. the fantastic variety of predominantly italian foods on offer is phenomenal

a must try is their cannoli.. it is deliciously decadent and will not disappoint

we were quite curious about old town and we were not dissapointed.

they have a comprehensive deli and the variety is awesome.

they are also expanding and will be open 2 evenings a week from middle june.

the restaurant was very very lovely, italian styled deco. the fact that the restaurant has a market makes the experience more enjoyable and unique.

the alcohol menu has many varieties of gin mixes so there's a lot to choose from. the pasta options are also extensive and gives you a lot of option to choose from

all in all the experience was agreatone and i will definitely go back.

we were on the road for 7 hours and thought that a nice meal at old town italy would end a fantastic holiday. what a disapointment. when we enter there was no sanitizer available at the door..we asked one off the 5 staf members that was standing around for some and just got a mumble and pointed finger look inside . after walking around looking for a table no one came to help us. we asked the one lady why they dont help the clients the only answer was sorry and she walked away..this is the last time this place will ever see us again.
for a restaurant to treat there guests this way in the difficult times we are in you would think the waiters will jump to get as many customers in and keep them happy with service and safe covid protocol. the sad thing is we dined here many times before lockdown and always hadgreatfood and service .
i suggest you to sharpen your covid protocol and your service....no one can afford to loose customers today

food was average, i expected more.greatplace and atmosphere although the waiter was a little rude and gave us stale cake, we couldn’t even eat it!

the food was absolutely incredible!greatportion size and tasted amazing and had agreatpresentation. the staff were excellent and the place was clean,greatatmosphere.

although i’ve never been to italy, i do feel like i have when i am here. the staff are welcoming and friendly, they always make agreateffort to make sure you are happy. the food is delicious, real comfort food but served so beautifully that you don’t feel guilty about the carbs!

finally got around to trying this absolute gem of a restaurant. fantastic decor firstly; literally italy in pretoria.

they have the best wine, beer, prosecco and non-alcoholic beverages on their menu. the starters were great; we managed to dig into some italian bread with hummus as well as arancini; both were perfect. the mains weregreattoo; salmon pasta, pork sausage pizza and rump to be specific. they paid careful attention to everything including the presentation of the food as well as the portion size which i appreciate.

the show stopper would be have to be their dessert selection. please please have their amarula tiramisu and red velvet cake.

i guess my only reason for taking away one of the stars in my ultimate rating would have to be the quality of service. i feel like this restaurant needs more passionate individuals from a service standpoint; in an ideal world if they could combine this restaurant’s food with fireroom’s service; we would probably have a 5/5 restaurant on our hands.

nonetheless; i’ll be raving about this place to everyone i know
