visited mamasitas last weekend and had very high hopes after the rave reviews it has. must say the cocktails are great and look super pretty service was greatstaffwere lovely and knowledgeable. my friend and i shared the feed me banquet and must say the food was good portions were smaller than i expected. however i had higher expectations for the flavours of the meals. still a good feed but a tad expensive for what you get.

liked this place a lot. my wife and i had the feed me banquet. i liked each dish for its difference. the chips were awesome and the goat meat was insane. waitingstaffwere really friendly, the whole place just had this great vibe of a good restaurant. caramel dessert was prove the highlight

perfect for those late night feeds, mamasita is an upbeat joint filled with mexican goodies to spice up your night. no complaints about service, everything came out within reasonable time andstaffwere friendly too!

my first time here , i had high expectations and were met :)
the waitstaffare lovely and on the ball with drinks and asking how the food is .

nice ambiance ( quite dark ) the colour of the walls and romantic lighting i found a little different for a mexican type restaurant ,i was thinking it would be bright and very colourful . would be a a nice first date ! )
the table arrangement are very tightly positioned together and a bit loud at the end of our dinning experience ( we could still have a conversation though which is important )
we arrived at 5pm so no lines . filled up very quickly around 6pm .

the stand outs : corn on the cob , and the four cheese quesadilla , gf liked the vegetarian taco a lot also the smokey tequila margareta was ace . i would love to come back to try more of the tacos they were morrish . i had the fish ( grilled ) on the waiters recommendation , it was nice fresh fish flavour and perfectly cooked .

pretty spot on with the serving sizes , as after all it's really for sharing . (is not cheep though )
**only real negative was our popcorn on top of the corn flavoured ice cream it was stale and not salty or caramel flavoured enough .
the creme brûlée type desert was nice .

one taco each (one fish one veggie )
one shared "vegetarian "quesadilla
one plate of three shared corn bite (veggie ) entree
two deserts to share .

overall would i come back ? yes
would i recommend: yes , come early !

a birthday celebration sadly at easter. so a group of 8, too for ever to get seated asstaffmilled around with not much to do. but we needed to wait for the host ... a wait of around 5 minutes.
seated. menus. drinks took too long.
drinking. order taking took too long
food was good ... banquet was a great blend of foods, extra chili in the side could have been good for those that like it hot
alcohol service was variable - some v quick and some painfully slow

ok. it was easter weekend. 15% surcharge hurt. but an eftpos surcharge on top of a surcharge was rich. the service was not that good!

mamasita is of the finer mexican restaurants in melbourne. we went for a work lunch on a random tuesday afternoon, but it was still very busy. despite this, thestaffmember was engaging, attentive and helpful when it came to our menu selections and how much to order for a big table. the popcorn ice cream dessert topped it off 👌🏻

first time here. didn't have a booking but was offered seating at the bar with full menu.
lovey food, friendlystaffand very well priced.
definitely would be back to sample the tequilas

super hidden little spot in the spring st end of collins st. so hidden you barely know it is there. head upstairs to discover the yummiest mexican food. very authentic. i had the chicken tostadas. complimentary corn chips with salsa and guacamole- delicious !! my tostadas had a great kick to them. so fresh. friends indulged in fish tacos and chicken tacos. also bit hits.staffwere super friendly. work lunch so service was excellent also. will be back !!

in lurveeeee with the fish tacos and those corns ! mmmmm so delicious i mean it, fish tacos all the way!! service is great,staffis very friendly. this place is insanely busy especially during fri/sat nights. one negative about this place is probablh the price but i can shake it off because the quality of the food is yasss

stellar service and impressive food. a restaurant we've never quite made it to for dinner, we decided on a lazy saturday lunch, and the atmosphere was nicely low key. the beetroot tostadas were a standout, if a little colourfully messy. we had the duck carnitas, chicken wings, fish tacos, chilli garlic potatoes, and the helm riesling. the dishes were interesting and very tasty without being overbearing, and the portion sizes just right. service was fantastic,staffwere friendly, attentive and just chatty enough - and offered to put my flowers in the cool room so they'd keep. a very enjoyable experience, would happily recommend mamasita for a casual meal.

first thing very friendly ladystaffeleanor and the head chef. very good interior and ambiance. food is not delay everything on time.

we order so much but i can't post all dishes here. but some of them beyond on taste, the tacos and desserts.

we just disappointed with their fish,may be the flavour's are missing on it.

over all its a good mexican restaurant to try in melbourne colin's street.

amazing food, impecable service and great creativity in the drinks department.  chef martin is very, very talented and thestaffare (very obviously) well trained in the finer points of hospitality.   

ps> i'm mexican - so i'm naturally cynical about mexican food outside of my home. this team exceeds any pre-conceptions of what mexican food outside of mexico might be.  in fact, the contemporary twist on classic dishes is not only more than welcome, it's a fantastic culinary experience!

this place is great - great mocktails, great food, great service. the tacos are fantastic, and thestaffare super friendly. my complaint is one that i found the stools up by the front windows my friend and i were directed to to be immensely uncomfortable. i couldn't find a comfortable position, and eventually gave up. i was planning on ordering dessert, but we eventually left and found somewhere else with proper seats.

i loved the food, and the service was great. but guaranteed i won't go back unless i can get a proper seat for a meal, and not a stool.

one of the travelmints team brought her parents here 12 years ago, and subsequently returned here with her husband 1 week after she got married in 2021. things are still the same, mamasita serves extremely good quality fresh mexican food and they also offer a fun tequila tasting board!

thestaffhere are very friendly and attentive too. there's no doubt that this place is the place to go if you ever want to enjoy mexican food and vibes!

great food, wonderful atmosphere, the best margaritas always. we ordered every taco they have on the menu including special black pudding taco. the margaritas are amazing, probably the best in town. thestaffare attentive and quick, perhaps too quick. went with the family with our daughter. after paying the bill as we were leaving, a waitress who wasn’t even serving us came running after us screaming at top of her voice “have you paid the bill?...have you paid the bill?” as if we were running away, drawing attention of everyone around that was a very embarrassing. i didn’t hear her asking anyone but specifically us, we all felt that she was biased towards us because of our ethnicity. it ruined our whole experience of the evening being treated in front of everyone like we are sneaking away without paying the bill. i think thestaffshould be screened and trained as there is no place for racism left in the world, ironically when you serving another country’s food in australia, simply not acceptable.
