very enjoyable sweet during the busy working day afternoon. we tried mascarpone cake and cheesecake, extremely delicious. mascarpone cheese layer is soft, plus sliced freshstrawberryand coconut slice inside and on the top. different taste mix very well. the ny style lemon cheesecake is my love. taste very light, not heavy at all. it's the must try sweet in sydney cbd.

ok so i really enjoyed their specialty cake. 5+ as i thought the creamstrawberrywas refreshing with the layer of meringue and caramalised sugar. however my husband found it a little to sweet for his liking. if you’re a sweet tooth like me, lorraine’s would be a 100% guaranteed satisfaction 😋 ps: purchased the cake oct 2019! #throwback

love this little patisserie. the hit is of course theirstrawberrylychee cake but i also love the chocolate cloud cake, kalamansi & rhubarb pie. i have heard a lot about their ny cheesecake so tried it on my latest visit. it was the lightest and fluffiest ny cheesecake i have had with a very distinct lemon flavour and ginger crumbed base. it was enjoyable but not a traditional ny cheesecake. service is efficient & robotic.

the best new york cheese cake we have ever had!!!!
everything in this patisserie is amazing!
this little patisserie tucked away underneath the ivy is our go to dessert and bakery.

the recommendations so far is the ny cheese cake, thestrawberrymuffin, and the chocolate croissant.
we usually get there in the morning as they are baking and wait for the first batch to come up so it’s freshly out of the oven!

my absolute favourite dessert place and the reason for my numerous trips back up to sydney, lorraines serves up delicious, authentic french desserts. 

their cheesecake($10) is simply amazing - its light and almost mousse-like with a subtle tartness from the lemon which balances out any richness. the crust is also on point, perfectly crunchy but not brittle or hard. i could eat this every day and never get sick of it. the toffee vanilla choux puff($4) was also perfect - the toffee adding crunch and sweetness, vanilla cream perfectly thick and creamy and of course the choux was light and airy. i loved the way the flavours harmonised together. i loved the strawberrymascarpone cake($10) which completely blew me away on the first bite - fluffiness and crunch from the meringue, nuttiness from the coconut while the tart strawberries worked so well with the rich mascarpone. i did find it a bit too rich towards the end because of the coconut and cream however it may have been due to the sheer amount of cake i had. my friend also enjoyed their raspberry choux($7.50) but make sure you eat them fresh for the best experience!!! overall an out-of-this-world sweets experience and well worth the price.

unfortunately the store is very small and they don't have any seating available but i'm more than happy to take as many trips as are necessary to try all of lorraine's offerings! my only wish for this place is that hopefully the guy who is serving will be more careful when getting the cakes as he almost just tosses them into the box and it happened on both occasions i visited t_t

theirstrawberrymascarpone cake was out of this world! was extremely surprised at how amazing it was. wish i bought more. so good!!! would definitely recommend.

thestrawberrymascarpone cake is amazing!❤ i highly recommend you to try this cake💕 this cake is not too sweet and light. the mascarpone is really delicious, the crisp coconut dacquoise was crunchy, and thestrawberryadds extra freshness to the cake. i will definitely go back to try another cake!

lorraine's patisserie is unquestionably the #1 bakery in sydney. the patisserie makes several small batches of each sweet delight at various times of the day. hence, you can taste the freshness and the crunchiness of the cakes and tarts. my favourites are the rhubarb pie andstrawberrymascarpone (sold out very early).

unlike black star where thestrawberrywatermelon cake tastes like an inconvenience marriage of three separate sections (strawberry, watermelon slice and cake), the mascarpone cake is a holy union of pure delight.

i tasted theirstrawberrymascarpone cake and it is the beststrawberrycake i've tried ever!
the coconut was very good as it was crispy and taste good with the cake
the strawberries were fresh
mascarpone cream was amazing
and every layered taste differently but matched each other! definitely will come back and will try different cakes available

i had the mascarponestrawberrycake slice. some of the price tags will shock you at first but work with me here because this is one of those delicately created, moan out loud kind of dessert bake places that are rare in the city and this could very well be the only answer in sydney to the legendary watermelon cake from another place who we will not name! it's got its on thing going on and i just love the velvety texture and choppedstrawberryin this – luscious!

partner got me the mascarpone cake for my birthday and oh my goodness!!!! i highly recommend it, the mascarpone and strawberries definitely cut through the sweetness and there's a hint of coconut in there which complements so well! he got the 6 - 8 piece slice which was more than enough for 10 people! it's definitely up there with thestrawberrywatermelon cake from black star pastry.

been skeptical about this place, i had a look at the menu and been avoiding burning a hole in my wallet for cakes. i caved and picked up 4 pieces for mums birthday (ended up being about $35 ... sheeeesh). rubys cake was decadent, well balanced, smooth and just damn gorgeous. mascarpone cake was like nothing ive had before i love the different coconut, mascarpone,strawberryand brulee layers, amazing. new york style cheesecake was so fluffy and light - i loved it!!!! ive been hunting for the perfect rhubarb pie .. although it wasnt my favourite, it is definitely the best ive had so far. its difficult to get the buttery crust to the perfect consistency and thickness. slightly sour compliments the sugar coated top. my mum loved everything. i wish it wasnt so expensive... but id go back again to try their other pastries, cakes etc... maybe for birthdays only.

the mascarpone bake has topped thestrawberrywatermelon cake to be my favourite cake in sydney! highly recommend! it was so fresh and flavours all went super well together, impressed and well worth the 9bucks for an occasional treat :)

forget drops of heaven when you can get blocks! i often go to lorraine's for pie or sausage roll for lunch but today their mascarpone cake blew me away!

the thick rich fragrant creamy mascarpone engulf the senses when you first open the box and then each bite will melt your heart away! if you happen to pick up astrawberryin your bite then lucky you! the crunchiness of the crispy coconut dacquoise adds an extra layer of texture to the cake that is the perfect combination with the creaminess of the mascarpone. the cake is not too sweet but perfectly balanced. give this cake a go you will not regret!!!

thatstrawberryand mascarpone cake. oh em gee. i'll admit that everything i've had at this place is amazing but there's really no need to go beyond thestrawberryand mascarpone. game over. seriously the best cake. i have yet to try the infamous date tart but that's coz they rarely bake it and when they do, there's a darn 3 hour queue! no doubt i'll never get to try that one. but no problemo. i'm more than happy with thestrawberryand mascarpone!!!
