absolutely love this littlecakeshop! my favourite cheesecake. i've loved everything i've tried here. you just can't go wrong! if only there were seats here.

very enjoyable sweet during the busy working day afternoon. we tried mascarponecakeand cheesecake, extremely delicious. mascarpone cheese layer is soft, plus sliced fresh strawberry and coconut slice inside and on the top. different taste mix very well. the ny style lemon cheesecake is my love. taste very light, not heavy at all. it's the must try sweet in sydney cbd.

none of the famous cheesecake available so i have a piece of ruby'scakeand it was great - mostly mousse with lots of flavour and just a bit of crust that stuck to the bottom. stupidly expensive for such a tiny piece ofcakethough and i hated their rigmarole of taping a tiny piece ofcakeinto a box and then putting it in a bag. i folded up the packaging as tight as i could get it and it was still five times the size of the cake. so wasteful.

ok so i really enjoyed their specialty cake. 5+ as i thought the cream strawberry was refreshing with the layer of meringue and caramalised sugar. however my husband found it a little to sweet for his liking. if you’re a sweet tooth like me, lorraine’s would be a 100% guaranteed satisfaction 😋 ps: purchased thecakeoct 2019! #throwback

tried the coconut mascarponecakeand it was really fresh.they have a lot of varieties to choose from.a bit over priced compared to othercakeshops but the taste makes up for it.

an uncle from the us visits and is keen to try hidden local food gems. this just happens to coincide with your cravings for the best cheesecake sydney has to offer. but the store has been closed till today, and he's flying back to the us tonight and you're busy during the day. so what do you do?

you spend the week leading up to today hyping the cheesecake, even visiting the shop with him while it's closed for the new year holidays, so that, subconsciously, he's been primed to visit today.

all goes according to plan. while you're out with your brother and his friend, your uncle sends you a text saying, "sos: help needed to share 2 pieces of ny style c-cake". you say thank you and have a good flight and give a silent cheer. later on, you're joined by another couple and you all have kbbq. you kind of sit on the side, preoccupying yourself with cooking and service rather than conversation.
a trip to oliver brown later and you're at home.

you pull thecakeout of the fridge, place it on a little saucer, and go to town on that fluffy, zesty cheesecake. it's more delicious than you remembered. so delicious that you feel compelled to leave a 5-star review for lorraine's patisserie midway. 

once you're done, you return to what you were doing before - eating the cake, listening to "shake it out" by florence + the machine, and reflecting on how often you are the third (or 5th) wheel. but you don't cry because you're not sad.
you just keep eating that delicious cake.

their most popular mascarponecaketasted amazing! the lightened mascarpone cheese layered with crisp coconut along with strawberries, this combination is a magic. but still, only take away...

love this little patisserie. the hit is of course their strawberry lycheecakebut i also love the chocolate cloud cake, kalamansi & rhubarb pie. i have heard a lot about their ny cheesecake so tried it on my latest visit. it was the lightest and fluffiest ny cheesecake i have had with a very distinct lemon flavour and ginger crumbed base. it was enjoyable but not a traditional ny cheesecake. service is efficient & robotic.

the mascarponecakewas sold out so i chose the rubys cake. at first, i didn’t give that a high expectation because i don’t like any orange flavored chocolate. but this is the best one i’ve ever tried! it looks ordinary but it’s amazing! i will definitely try it again!!

the desert here are gorgeous. the best new york cheesecake we have ever had. this shop is super charming. mascarponecakeis to die for. i will definitely come back to this place

forget black star. lorraine’s is in my opinion, much better. do yourself a favour, make your way to this little patisserie in the cbd and order the mascarpone cake. bestcakei’ve had this year. used to always make sure black star would be on my itinerary every single sydney trip, but now i’ll come to lorraine’s instead. the only pity is that it is takeaway only, but we got around that by walking to the botanical gardens and indulging there.

third of all, i just want to come back and eat some more.

the mascarponecaketasted amazing! such a delight to try. love the caramelised top and the balance that the fresh strawberries provide. definitely wish to go again and try another sweet treat sometime soon. this place would be a 5/5 if seating were available but i guess we can’t have everything.

the desserts here are gorgeous. it’s such a quaint little place and i had such a hard time picking! ended up trying the frangipane tart - and promptly went back for the new york cheesecake, and brought ruby’scakehome. the frangipane tart is well balanced - not too sweet, and would be a perfect any occasion treat. the new york cheesecake has a more interesting flavour - the lemon is prominent and it’s much lighter than other denser versions i’ve tried at cafes. it’s acakethat would need to be enjoyed depending on one’s mood on the day. the ruby’scakewas nice but perhaps the least favourite - the flavours meshed well however. keep in mind that there is no seating however. will definitely be returning to try the other offerings!

this little patisserie tucked away underneath the ivy is our go to dessert and bakery.

the recommendations so far is the ny cheese cake, the strawberry muffin, and the chocolate croissant.
we usually get there in the morning as they are baking and wait for the first batch to come up so it’s freshly out of the oven!
