maybe i expected too much. after hearing so many people rave about this place, maybe i was just expecting too much. i guess it is just me because i drive past this place every day and it is packed, but i found it just okay and overpriced. perhaps if i hadn't set my standards so high based on word of mouth -- i dunno. i just know that it was a big let down. maybe one day i will try it again and hopefully see what everyone else does.

great eats at a great price! hilariously kitsch, and completely delicious. get the fish tacos, and cerveza on tap. i will definitely visit again.

why not just go to a street vendor for $3?. i got the "adovada" burrito just like that freak on diners, drive-ins, an dives and thought: "meh... it's not a bad burrito..." the size of the thing made it worth the price (think two wide-mouth mason jars end to end... maybe a little smaller than that... i finished it and was in serious pain...)

for me, street vendors and beto's both beat this place by a long shot. go get a california or a carnitas burrito from beto's or a chile verde burrito from a street vendor downtown. less money, better flavor.

i would put the fish taco up against any other taco in the state. i've been known to buy their fish sauce in bulk to take home for my own tacos

this was nothing special. we lived in las cruces and santa fe and texas for years, and i do not understand all the glowing reviews here. read the neutral and negative reviews first, much more accurate. i get better tacos at del taco. they cover up indifference with cilantro and onion, there is no imagination to the food and it is kind of flat. we had three different dishes, a burrito, some tacos, a tamale that was actually quite disgusting. the guacamole is more like green goddess, or they totally screwed it up. 

save yourself some trouble, don't go, we will not be back.

great mexican food!. chili verde burritos are crazy good. also the fish tacos are great and carne asada is great as well. since eating cafe rio, i compare every mexican place to it. it just might be better...;)

great food for the price. super friendly employees, can get overly crowded on weekends and service becomes too slow. but love this place otherwise.

this time we are at lone star taqueria and this outlet was our bestest ambience and the staff was friendly

the food - quite tasty. the piano player - tickled the ivories superbly. the view - exquisite if you love to see the temple(like the old primary song says), but slightly dull if you don't really care for seeing the temple. the desserts - plentiful and delicious.

the reason i dropped a star. well there are two of them. first, the price. although the roof is nice, i don't think the niceness justifies the $$$ spent. second, although the food is good, there isn't a whole lot of variety offered. they have like 4 actual dishes depending on the night, and it's all cramped into a tiny little area where everyone has to cram into to get their food. needs a remodel to add a little elbow room(like the old racist school house rock song says).

lone star taqueria is an awesome joint with a good variety of yum mexican food. it’s quick and has a fun vibe. i was here in winter but i would imagine the outside area would be excellent in the summer. would highly recommend.

i'm from out of town and was with a friend. we searched for a mexican food and found this place. the reviews and ranking was pretty high so we decided to drive there. we were shocked that it was a little fast-food type location but the place was busy so we went with it. wow! i am so glad that we stayed. chips, salsa, fish taco, and burritos and we were in heaven! fabulous gamble that really paid off. great food!

hands down best fish tacos and tamales i ever did try. great service. food was served fast. clean restaurant, great atmosphere. fresh, delicious. the chips and salsa were amazingggggggg

this place is amazing. perfect spot to enjoy some good food, a cold beer and a beautiful view. if you are fortunate enough you will be there as the fresh fish is put out around 5 p.m. everyday. if you are really lucky you are there when it is salmon day! best, freshest and tastiest fish taco i have ever had! perfection
