lonestartaqueria is an awesome joint with a good variety of yum mexican food. it’s quick and has a fun vibe. i was here in winter but i would imagine the outside area would be excellent in the summer. would highly recommend.

the best place in salt lake if you're trying to eat delicious, authentic burritos and tacos. forget chipotle or barbacoa, lonestaris cheap, delicious, quick--the best. my personal favorites include the carne asada (steak) burrito or fish tacos.

is there anything better than a fresh, vibrant, well made taco? i can’t think of much, and i also can’t think of many better places to enjoy one that lonestar taqueria in midvale. a local’s favorite well before it graced the big screen in guy fieri’s triple d show – lonestar has been cranking out terrific tacos since 1995. pictured above are two delightful camarones (shrimp) tacos ($3.29) – perfectly cooked shrimp, layered with crunchy cabbage, zesty cilantro and luscious tomato. zap on a squirt of lime and a lashing of the accompanying creamy cilantro sauce and you’re all set for taco heaven. lonestartaqueria 2265 fort union blvd, salt lake city (801) 944-2300 www.lonestartaqueria.com the post lonestar taqueria: shrimp tacos appeared first on best of slc .

lonestaris a must. its one of my top 5 places to eat in the state. food is phenomenal. service is how it should be. they haven't changed anything since they opened and havent needed to. the ingredients are fresh and the fish tacos are the best i've had; using a different fish each day based in the freshness. love this place.

great food, great service. last night was our first (but not last!) time to eat at lonestartaqueria. i skimmed the suggestions in reviews here on us and decided to try the fish taco, shrimp taco, and carne asada burrito.

the shrimp taco was pretty good and i would try it again.

we actually received something other than the fish taco and it wasn't that good (i think it was carne asada).

the carne asada burrito was huge and amazing. it took both of us to eat it and we still had a few bites left over. i especially liked it when i dumped some of the sauces on. try them all because they have very distinct flavors.

we showed up 2 minutes before closing (9:30pm) and they were still very happy to serve us. we then stayed longer than most of the customers and even though they were closed and cleaning up the trash and the tables, they were smiling and told us to take our time... not what you would expect from a traditional "fast food" restaurant.

i hear the chips and salsa are good so i guess i'll be coming back soon. i'd still like to try the fish taco that everyone raves about so that will be in the next review.

amazing food, killer restaurant. going to lonestaris a great experience- fast service, friendly employees, insane fish tacos, a salsa bar with whatever you might want to dress up your food, all within a great hole-in-the-wall place to get an authentic mexican bite. just ask guy fieri...

best fish tacos in slc!. it is so hard finding a decent-tasting mexican restaurant. you either get cheap, greasy crap or you get bland, flat, boring meals. lonestarsaved my opinion of vibrant mexican food in utah! okay, it may not be entirely authentic, but the fish tacos are actually made with fresh fish! i live down the street and this place is always busy! i'm telling you, if you enjoy a good fish taco, this place is a must-try!

best tacos and burritos in the valley!. lonestaris a funky little mexican joint. i love the fish burritos and the crema sauce that comes with them. everything is good. it can get kind of crowded as there isn't a ton of indoor seating. they do have a nice outdoor patio as well. it's also not taco-bell cheap, you know? you are paying for really good food so the price reflects that.

the biggest problem that the lonestartaqueria has is the parking situation. i did laps while waiting for a spot, and when i finally found one, i had to "ignore" two love birds hug their good-byes, followed by ominous glaring (probably because the good-byes were prompted by my car waiting with the blinker on while they chit-chatted sweet nothings under the grey skies of post-thanksgiving december). but believe me: the hard parking is worth it. as you enter lonestartaqueria's (lst) parking lot you realize a couple things: (1) there's never enough parking, and (2) it looks like a psychedelic hippie cowboy decorated the joint just before he went the way of all the earth. amazingly, once you get inside and taste the tacos, neither of these matter in the least.

fish tacos!. whatever the fish of the day is it will be marinated to perfection and moist and flavorful. you can't go wrong with the fish tacos here.

carne asada burrito is fantastic. lonestarlives up to the hype. fish tacos are tasty, and i really like their carne asada burrito. it's huge.

the restaurant is in an old malt shop or something, but they've done a good job with decorating the place with tacky, kitschy decorations that will make even the whitest gringo feel right at home.

the next time you're coming down off the mountain after a long day of skiing, stop by and check out lone star!
