lone star taqueria

lone star taqueria is an awesome joint with agoodvariety of yum mexican food. it’s quick and has a fun vibe. i was here in winter but i would imagine the outside area would be excellent in the summer. would highly recommend.

this place is amazing. perfect spot to enjoy somegoodfood, a cold beer and a beautiful view. if you are fortunate enough you will be there as the fresh fish is put out around 5 p.m. everyday. if you are really lucky you are there when it is salmon day! best, freshest and tastiest fish taco i have ever had! perfection

good eatsgoodprice. i don't live super close this place but i eat here every other month when i can. i usually get their shredded beef tacos and fish tacos. it is cheap and better than other places that offer tacos. it is just enough to fill you up but not over fill you.

this restaurant. this place is so bad! its run by a bunch of mexican men and women who dont speak a lick of english. the entrance and exit to the parking lot are labeled in spanish so i dont know where to go. the food isgoodthough and its not expensive.

finally a unique place.. this place has very verygoodfish tacos. the staff is super friendly, and they always make jokes and keep it light. very different mexican food, it is not like those cheap betos places, it is not like cafe rio or red iguana, so this place is certainly unique and worth a stop. parking lot is indeed too small though.

not as amazing as red iguana or cafe rio but i love to eat here. lots of people do.goodluck parking

so so. seems like they just got lucky by getting on ddd.
i like the variety of fish they include, but you can get just a large of a burrito for cheaper & just asgoodof ingredients near downtown. i think this obtains suchgoodreviews because it is near so many gringos that are surrounded by fast food like taco bell, a&w, etc.

overhyped. i think this place has rave reviews, because its mexican food that is not taco bell in cottonwood heights. if only people would venture a bit further you can get the same tasting burritos on the street in downtown sl. i didn't find anything special about the taste of the burritos other than they are packed full.

moreover it was dirty.

still 3.5 out of 5.

it's all good.. lonestar taqueria is absolutely delicious. their fish tacos are the best i have ever had. their nachos are good. the burritos aregoodas well. they have really uniquely flavored sauces that are just right and you have a choice between mild medium or hot. i have been eating her for years as i grew up just around the corner and i have never been disappointed.

best tacos in town!. fish tacos are magnificent. carne adovada is incredible. taco's are top notch. burritosgoodas well.

good not amazing. here's the thing. we drove from sugarhouse to try it out because of the hype. was it good? yes. we had shrimp tacos that were delicious and we split a chicken burrito smothered in green sauce that was also agoodportion and very tasty. what we didn't understand was why everyone was out on the patio when we got there, well as soon as we sat down inside it was very clear. flies. there were at least 20-25 flies in the restaurant because they left the door open and they were all hanging out near the sauce bar. we had to shoo them away while eating and to get our sauces, come on people that's just gross and no one seemed to care (that was working there) in short,goodservice,goodfood but next time i go back if there are still flies hanging out i'll let them stay and i'll go, the food was not great enough to deal with that again.

great food, great service. last night was our first (but not last!) time to eat at lone star taqueria. i skimmed the suggestions in reviews here on us and decided to try the fish taco, shrimp taco, and carne asada burrito.

the shrimp taco was prettygoodand i would try it again.

we actually received something other than the fish taco and it wasn't thatgood(i think it was carne asada).

the carne asada burrito was huge and amazing. it took both of us to eat it and we still had a few bites left over. i especially liked it when i dumped some of the sauces on. try them all because they have very distinct flavors.

we showed up 2 minutes before closing (9:30pm) and they were still very happy to serve us. we then stayed longer than most of the customers and even though they were closed and cleaning up the trash and the tables, they were smiling and told us to take our time... not what you would expect from a traditional "fast food" restaurant.

i hear the chips and salsa aregoodso i guess i'll be coming back soon. i'd still like to try the fish taco that everyone raves about so that will be in the next review.

awesome food! but.... i love lone star! i have been going there for a couple years now, with my wife. a couple weeks ago some family came in town from az. my brother asked me "where do people in slc go for somegoodgrub?" i automatically thought of lone star. we went and there were 6 of us total. since we were all together i asked if we could be all on the same order. they said "hey, we do things our way. we'll give separate numbers out. its hard to get everything out at the same time". i totally understand. so we had two separate order numbers. when our food came out (15 minutes apart) they had gotten everything wrong. everyone at the table was understanding, but the servers gave us a huge attitude about it. it really ruined our dining experience. i will continue to sing their praise, but if you go there don't go as a large group or you will be disappointed! for that my score is 3/5

best fish tacos in slc!. it is so hard finding a decent-tasting mexican restaurant. you either get cheap, greasy crap or you get bland, flat, boring meals. lone star saved my opinion of vibrant mexican food in utah! okay, it may not be entirely authentic, but the fish tacos are actually made with fresh fish! i live down the street and this place is always busy! i'm telling you, if you enjoy agoodfish taco, this place is a must-try!

best tacos and burritos in the valley!. lone star is a funky little mexican joint. i love the fish burritos and the crema sauce that comes with them. everything is good. it can get kind of crowded as there isn't a ton of indoor seating. they do have a nice outdoor patio as well. it's also not taco-bell cheap, you know? you are paying for reallygoodfood so the price reflects that.
