this was nothing special. we lived in las cruces and santa fe and texas for years, and i do not understand all the glowing reviews here. read the neutral and negative reviews first, much more accurate. i get better tacos at del taco. they cover up indifference with cilantro and onion, there is no imagination to thefoodand it is kind of flat. we had three different dishes, a burrito, some tacos, a tamale that was actually quite disgusting. the guacamole is more like green goddess, or they totally screwed it up. 

save yourself some trouble, don't go, we will not be back.

greatfoodfor the price. super friendly employees, can get overly crowded on weekends and service becomes too slow. but love this place otherwise.

thefood- quite tasty. the piano player - tickled the ivories superbly. the view - exquisite if you love to see the temple(like the old primary song says), but slightly dull if you don't really care for seeing the temple. the desserts - plentiful and delicious.

the reason i dropped a star. well there are two of them. first, the price. although the roof is nice, i don't think the niceness justifies the $$$ spent. second, although thefoodis good, there isn't a whole lot of variety offered. they have like 4 actual dishes depending on the night, and it's all cramped into a tiny little area where everyone has to cram into to get their food. needs a remodel to add a little elbow room(like the old racist school house rock song says).

i'm from out of town and was with a friend. we searched for a mexicanfoodand found this place. the reviews and ranking was pretty high so we decided to drive there. we were shocked that it was a little fast-food type location but the place was busy so we went with it. wow! i am so glad that we stayed. chips, salsa, fish taco, and burritos and we were in heaven! fabulous gamble that really paid off. great food!

hands down best fish tacos and tamales i ever did try. great service.foodwas served fast. clean restaurant, great atmosphere. fresh, delicious. the chips and salsa were amazingggggggg

yumbo in my tumbo!. have loved this place ever since it was mentioned in sunset magazine years and years ago. it was also featured on thefoodnetwork show "diners, drive-ins and dives". they make absolutely delicious fish tacos!!! they do other tacos too as well as burritos, quesadillas, tamales, nachos and salads. you can also get a cerveza here too :). the place is small and parking is limited but you've got to give this a try. they have a drive-thru so you can always get it to go. don't go on sunday though. everyone needs a break from the grind.

tasty tacos!. i visited this establishment first based on the suggestions of diners, drive ins, and dives and wasn't disappointed! i've since been back two or three times and am always impressed with the quality offoodand the friendliness of the staff!

this restaurant. this place is so bad! its run by a bunch of mexican men and women who dont speak a lick of english. the entrance and exit to the parking lot are labeled in spanish so i dont know where to go. thefoodis good though and its not expensive.

lone star is a must. its one of my top 5 places to eat in the state.foodis phenomenal. service is how it should be. they haven't changed anything since they opened and havent needed to. the ingredients are fresh and the fish tacos are the best i've had; using a different fish each day based in the freshness. love this place.

so so. seems like they just got lucky by getting on ddd.
i like the variety of fish they include, but you can get just a large of a burrito for cheaper & just as good of ingredients near downtown. i think this obtains such good reviews because it is near so many gringos that are surrounded by fastfoodlike taco bell, a&w, etc.

overhyped. i think this place has rave reviews, because its mexicanfoodthat is not taco bell in cottonwood heights. if only people would venture a bit further you can get the same tasting burritos on the street in downtown sl. i didn't find anything special about the taste of the burritos other than they are packed full.

moreover it was dirty.

still 3.5 out of 5.

goodfoodbut the people can lack.... went to buy nachos, a quart of guac and a big bag of chips...after they somehow messed it up 3 times, i was sitting there for over ten minutes at the window they then asked for an additional $1.80 to make up the difference of their mistake (big bag of chips versus small). they acted like i was annoying them by wanting my order correct. my nachos were soggy as heck when i got home and then i realized i had actually been overcharged by about $7.00. i used to love this place. not any more. greatfoodand lousy attitude. it started downhill after they felt they became "famous".

maybe my expectations were too high after seeing a rare 92% rating and reviewed by so many people, but i found thefoodto be overpriced (our bill for just the two of us was $20 and we have no idea why) and just decent. the guacamole was admittedly very good, and i'm picky about my guac. but the fish tacos were just 2 steps above del taco...if i lived in the area, i guess i'd pop in here for the quick mexican food-fix, but it's not worth the drive. i'm still partial to red iguana if i'm going to end up spending $20 just to get 2 little fish tacos, some guac, and 2 little bean tacos. it would be a great quick lunch place, but hardly something i would return to again and again. fun outdoor dining though. (3 out of 5 stars)

good not amazing. here's the thing. we drove from sugarhouse to try it out because of the hype. was it good? yes. we had shrimp tacos that were delicious and we split a chicken burrito smothered in green sauce that was also a good portion and very tasty. what we didn't understand was why everyone was out on the patio when we got there, well as soon as we sat down inside it was very clear. flies. there were at least 20-25 flies in the restaurant because they left the door open and they were all hanging out near the sauce bar. we had to shoo them away while eating and to get our sauces, come on people that's just gross and no one seemed to care (that was working there) in short, good service, goodfoodbut next time i go back if there are still flies hanging out i'll let them stay and i'll go, thefoodwas not great enough to deal with that again.

go immediately. this my friends, is the best mexican in utah i've found so far. they have amazing prices, amazing flavors, amazing service, and amazing options. i was completely blown away with how delicious theirfoodwas, and will definitely be returning soon. though next time i think i will certainly have to try the fish tacos and bring a jacket or go on a warm summer night!
