great brekky cafe. happy new find in kingston quay area!. what a great little cafe! go there - you'll love it. good food. good coffee, friendly waiters, interesting decor, nice view. very inviting when you are walking along the quay. sunny spot, with eclectic chairs and tables, plants etc. (even a happy dog, sitting under thetablewith water bowl provided at the side).
after having walked past another very sterile industrial looking cafe first, i'm glad we found this one!
as it was a bit breezy outside, so we decided to sit inside.
we were immediately greeted by a pleasant young man (who looked like reece mastin) and picked our own table.
funky distressed walls and wooden furniture, open light globes, a very cool interior.
admittedly it was 10am on friday morning and we decided just to go for coffee on the new quay waterfront area at kingston. but when i saw the menu, i had to have the poached eggs on rye with ham and avocado. we both had coffee that came with a cute little piece of paper that described how the coffee was made and where it came from. the ham was so good, with perfect runny eggs. rye toast was a bit hard, but the avocado and pea sprouts were a yum addition. coffee was lovely. maurice, the friendly waiter came and told us about how the coffee was made, when we asked about it. he's obviously dedicated to making the coffee as good as he can, trying it every morning and modifying the ratios, to be consistent and enjoyable coffee for his customers.
lots of people came in later in the morning. an obviously popular place. (i overheard a woman say "this is my favourite place at the moment"
other choices of food seemed healthy and appealing.
just a bit different from other cafes. price was middle of the road, but quality is high.
our experience was such a pleasant surprise. we'll be back soon! ;-)
