delicious whole foods! i had a berry and dragonfruit smoothie with seeds while i read my book. was delicious and lasted agoodwhile withgoodviews of the lake and people watching as i drank. returned for breakfast one morning to have the waffles - extremely tasty and filling, would definitely recommend! the waffles seemed to be made of almost an orange and poppy seed muffin texture that went perfectly with the fresh fruit. service was also quick and friendly. couldn't recommend more highly!

verygoodlocation right on the water and at the end of the wharf.
chicken salad - this was great!
lamb salad was pretty good. very fresh, crunchy salad. the downside was the lamb, which was tender, but bland.
eggs on toast - really, really good.
zucchini & corn pancake - very delicious as well.
service was very friendly.

one of my favourite brunch places in canberra! haven’t had a dish that didn’t tastegoodyet.

this time i tried the lp breakfast with the minty kiwi smoothie and my friends had the salmon on rye. the flavors were balanced wonderfully, however my one gripe would be there was too much avo, but i am not a big avo fan.

the smoothie was very coconutty and you couldn’t really taste any kiwi or mint (didn’t really live up to its name) but i guess it was healthy. i probably would go for the salted peanut caramel one next time though.

overall a great meal.

this place is great! right on the foreshore so very nice views. busy but not too much so. we had the breakfast tortilla (verygoodand kept him full all day!) and two plates from their ‘make your own plate’ section. i loved this because i’m trying to eat low carb and it allowed me to have a yummy breakfast with out tempting toast on the plate. i had the mushrooms, ham and two eggs - a very generous serve and very tasty. also the cold pressed juices are very nice.

once in a while, on that special day when everything is perfect, you find that moment in life where everything feels right. that's what i felt eating these beetroot fritters! holy crap i had a mouthgasm at this cafe in front if my cousin and his girlfriend and i wasn't even embarrassed.

the local press cafe sells wholefoods and targets the new hipster audience where eating sustainable and healthy is the goal. obviously this does not mean you need to forgo eating delicious food, and this cafe has struck the right balance. this is a immensely busy waterfront cafe, we only had to wait 15 minutes for a table but the whole time we were eating there were people waiting in a long queue for a table. we were lucky enough to havegoodweather, so sat outside under the shade of umbrellas enjoying the sunny weather from the safely of shade.

i ordered the beet fritters with added salmon florette and a glass of their greens smoothie which on that day happened to be rockmelon, banana, kale, apple and ginger. the smoothie was okay and nothing to rave about but the fritters! hold on to your socks, the combination of salmon, eggs, fritters, relish and goat's cheese will blow your mind! my cousin and i both ordered the fritters and we were both just amazed at the flavour.

the service was pretty interesting, they are run like an asian cafeteria, you are allocated a seat, then once you've decided on your order you go to the cashier to place your order and pay, then collect your cutlery and water bottle and glasses if required. the food and drinks are brought to your table when ready. this doesn't detract from the experience but was just a novelty. service as stillgoodand the atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. if your looking for a place with awesome food where you can chat and catch up with friends, don't hesitate to check out the local press.

great local cafe, fresh & bright. we stopped here for late lunch on a hot hot day. but you hardly feel the heat inside the cafe. interesting decor filled with cute nik naks. the food were simple yet exciting. i had the chilli scrabble, essentially scrambled eggs with blue swimmer crab with the extra kick of chilli. the egg was smooth & there were agoodchucks of crab. my friends were also happy with their duck salad (lean yet tender), and the 12 hours lamb shoulder on flat bread. the juices were very refreshing as well. all round great cafe, happy that we ventured out in the heat.

it’sgoodto try, but i think next time i’d go for the wild mushrooms sauteed in garlic, thyme and sage oil with pine nuts, almonds, meredith chevre, greens and poached egg on souorcough bread $19…. …or customise a meal with things like smoked trout $4.50, kale and almonds $3.50 and tomato and basil $3.50 that all comes with sourdough toast.

absolutely appalling customer service! drove 30 minutes to come to this cafe, and asked if we could wait for a table outside, to which the waiter replied sure, just grab a table when it pops up. which is what we did after waiting for about 20 minutes, one table got taken, so we took another table, the same waiter came up and said, sorry you can't have that table, that's for 5 people.goodto see that money is more important to you then looking after your customers.

i love local press cafe! it is one of my favourite places for breakfast in canberra and i love bringing family and friends here when they visit from interstate. the food is always fresh, delicious, healthy and full of flavour. the use sustainable produce and often supportgoodcauses. i love the smoothies, juice, coffee, decor and the atmosphere too! it can get really busy so the earlier you arrive the better. definitely worth the wait if you have to wait though.

sssssstonkinglygoodcoffee. if you're after one near the kingston foreshore/markets, the local press won't disappoint. also tried the slices, which i can recommend. the look of the meals coming out as we waited in queue to order also looked delicious. the fact that the place is absolutely buzzing on a nice day says a lot.

didn't have to wait for long despite what looked like a full house. came here for a weekend brunch and food was great.goodportions and was full of flavour. i like how their fresh juices were pre packaged in cute glass bottles and ready to go. on another note, service wasn't the best. rushed seating, no explanation on how to order and was not handed a menu. the waiter also tried to clear my plate before i had finished. overall agoodexperience though.

this popular cafe was worth the short wait we had this morning. food was interesting and very generous. if you are not too hungry i definitely recommend sharing one of the brunch dishes. we had a dukkah egg, kale, quinoa, fetta dish which was lovely and arrived quickly. pay at the counter deal. great location next to the lake. we had to wait abiut 10 min at 9.30 on a sunday so i think getting there early is agoodidea - i imagine the wait at 11am would be long!
