new favourite. after only a week on the canberra cafe scene this little gem on the kingston foreshore has made a big impact. focussing on whole foods and cold pressed juices, localpress hits all the right notes for me. coffee was smooth and i love that they use bonsoy. the daily green juice was perfect, not too sweet and a great balance of flavours. and then come the babagounsh on sourdough, a great combination of flavours and at $12.50 it is fantastic value. so nice to see a place that is passionate about providing customers with quality food at reasonable prices. the interior is perfect and i can definitely see myself coming here a lot.

i always love visiting some of canberra's favourite eateries and checking out what they have to offer. we gavelocalpress cafe a shot on a sunday at around midday - plenty of people were about and we waited in line for 10 or so minutes prior to been seated. i was pleased that we were able to score a table to ourselves, as the share table in the middle of the cafe didn't look very comfortable given the little space between customers (this is particularly uncomfortable for some). i thought the decor was really cool and the mood vibrant - it's generally a pleasant place to have breakfast. i was a little confused why such a popular cafe wouldn't offer table service - ordering at the counter is very old school and my opinion is it's well worth a popular cafe doing that little extra for their guests. the coffee was really nice. whilst busy, the 55 odd minutes we had to wait for our breakfast is a tad long, especially considering we ordered eggs on toast and beetroot fritters. the food however was really nice. eggs were cooked perfectly and the fritters were incredibly tastey. we were happy with our experience here - but whilstlocalpress appear to do the most important things well, i thought the length of time we had to wait for our breakfast and the service were a little disappointing.

a friendly piece of advice for management - charging customers a 5% surcharge for paywave and credit card purchases on a weekend (2% during the week) is unnecessary. (sorry to end on a negative note!)

once in a while, on that special day when everything is perfect, you find that moment in life where everything feels right. that's what i felt eating these beetroot fritters! holy crap i had a mouthgasm at this cafe in front if my cousin and his girlfriend and i wasn't even embarrassed.

thelocalpress cafe sells wholefoods and targets the new hipster audience where eating sustainable and healthy is the goal. obviously this does not mean you need to forgo eating delicious food, and this cafe has struck the right balance. this is a immensely busy waterfront cafe, we only had to wait 15 minutes for a table but the whole time we were eating there were people waiting in a long queue for a table. we were lucky enough to have good weather, so sat outside under the shade of umbrellas enjoying the sunny weather from the safely of shade.

i ordered the beet fritters with added salmon florette and a glass of their greens smoothie which on that day happened to be rockmelon, banana, kale, apple and ginger. the smoothie was okay and nothing to rave about but the fritters! hold on to your socks, the combination of salmon, eggs, fritters, relish and goat's cheese will blow your mind! my cousin and i both ordered the fritters and we were both just amazed at the flavour.

the service was pretty interesting, they are run like an asian cafeteria, you are allocated a seat, then once you've decided on your order you go to the cashier to place your order and pay, then collect your cutlery and water bottle and glasses if required. the food and drinks are brought to your table when ready. this doesn't detract from the experience but was just a novelty. service as still good and the atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. if your looking for a place with awesome food where you can chat and catch up with friends, don't hesitate to check out thelocalpress.

greatlocalcafe, fresh & bright. we stopped here for late lunch on a hot hot day. but you hardly feel the heat inside the cafe. interesting decor filled with cute nik naks. the food were simple yet exciting. i had the chilli scrabble, essentially scrambled eggs with blue swimmer crab with the extra kick of chilli. the egg was smooth & there were a good chucks of crab. my friends were also happy with their duck salad (lean yet tender), and the 12 hours lamb shoulder on flat bread. the juices were very refreshing as well. all round great cafe, happy that we ventured out in the heat.

nested in the middle of the kingston foreshore boardwalk, thislocalcafe offers a healthy, vibrant vibe to start the day. with lovely views across the lake, the menu exhibits mostlylocalfresh produce.

service is order by the counter. help yourself to the water bottle and cups. fresh cold press (bottled) juices available for order alongside the usual coffee, tea and smoothies.

available all day are breakfast and lunch options. the wild mushrooms a little greasy and slightly overdone. the granola and sago-chia pudding however was delightfully healthy and well presented with a medley of fresh fruits, coconut cream and mango sago pudding. coffee is perfectly acceptable although not quite as robust in flavour or depth as another cafe 50m down the boardwalk. beautifully peaceful weekday mornings, this place is a buzz of activity on weekends.

it's a little expensive, with additional surcharges for the weekend. but popular for a reason. alocalgo-to.

went to thelocalpress for a lazy breakfast /brunch (lunch menu avail from 11am) with a group of mates who were all visiting canberra. everything we had was great a few of us went for the brekky menu (delicious wild mushroom, green pea pancake - pictured) and others went for lunch which from all accounts was just as good! service was relatively quick and efficient with the only slight area the experience that could have been improved was the fact that we had to go up to make an order meaning all our food came out at different times, didn't help that the place was packed! all in all great spot and will definitely be paying it another visit when back in canberra!

local press is great for breakfasts. we went on a weekday when it was a little quieter, but on weekends it's super busy. our picks from our most recent visit were the waffles with butterscotch pears and the oat porridge. both were delicious and very pretty to look at.localpress do great coffees and juices too. worth checking out.

i lovelocalpress cafe! it is one of my favourite places for breakfast in canberra and i love bringing family and friends here when they visit from interstate. the food is always fresh, delicious, healthy and full of flavour. the use sustainable produce and often support good causes. i love the smoothies, juice, coffee, decor and the atmosphere too! it can get really busy so the earlier you arrive the better. definitely worth the wait if you have to wait though.

when twohappybellies decide to go on a weekend getaway, we are always searching for highly rated and recommended places to eat our next meal, so when choosing where to have brunch on a saturday morning, the highly ratedlocalpress café was an easy choice. located on the bank of lake burley griffin in boat harbour, localpress café enjoys a picturesque backdrop with wetlands and hills situated on the otherside of the lake. we arrived mid morning to a busy cafe but luckily did not have to wait too long for a table. orders need to be placed at the counter although they do bring coffee and food out to the table.

sssssstonkingly good coffee. if you're after one near the kingston foreshore/markets, thelocalpress won't disappoint. also tried the slices, which i can recommend. the look of the meals coming out as we waited in queue to order also looked delicious. the fact that the place is absolutely buzzing on a nice day says a lot.

i usually stick to the breakfasty items on the menu atlocalpress, but this visit was definitely at lunchtime, so i ventured into the actual lunch offerings. i was tempted by the kangaroo sirloin, but being a warm day decided for the cooler salad option – a soy ginger chicken and black sesame vietnamese salad. the plate came out and i was impressed with the vibrant colours – getting stuck in, the salad was just as fresh as it looked. the snowpeas, capsicum and broccoli were all

having seenlocalpress cafe featured on sydney weekender i was keen to give a try, we were not disappointed. the daal by dhaval was delicious as was the spiced pumpkin & lentil bowl. the only 'gripe' the spiced pumpkin came cold and being a blustery winters day this was disappointing.

this morning bron suggested breakfast atlocalpress on the kingston foreshore. she was going for a bike ride around there and we could meet at 8 for a bite to eat. this morning was bright clear and fresh.localpress opens on weekends at 8 am but there was activity inside and outside prior to 8. the menus are available on the tables and once you’ve made a choose you order and pay at the counter inside. bron was interested in one of thelocalpress juice drinks and enjoyed an orange, carrot and turmeric root juice, which she said was very refreshing. the available other selections included a green drink with kale, celery, banana and spirulina the other was a coconut and passionfruit based concoction.
my beveridge needs focused purely on coffee. i like the way the cups and saucers are colour coordinated.
the sugar bowls look good on the distressed dining tables.
