good food, decent coffee, pleasant but unorganised service. had an unnecessary wait of about 30 minutes as the host was overwhelmed with seating a large group of us (7 pax). rather than just move some tables together he set his hopes that a group of 3 would leave a large outside table.

upon finally being seated, the service was prompt up until meal delivery, where one of our party inexplicably waited an extra 10-15 minutes for his food to be served. the staff offered no explanation for this, but were polite and apologetic.

the coffee was decent and the food was fresh and flavoursome. i will be going back to try again, but with a smaller group and during a less busy time of day.

i was pretty surprised when i first saw the menu. it was really simple, they only had four choices all of which were quite clean and green. not that this was a bad thing or anything.

three of us went saturday morning.food brilliant.coffee was cold but had the makings of good coffee.staff friendly but not very organised.still great and even better when it gets over new business hurdles.

great, but often busy. visited here a few weeks ago to try the coffee and green juice and loved it. service was reliable even though it was busy, the only problem is i've tried to return two separate weekends since and there's been a considerable line and forced to go somewhere else, the lesson is get in early i guess or prepare to wait a little while.

the best coffe and food. local press has the best coffe and food that i ever have tried. it is fantastic, and it has a good environment, the service is so great. i am sure i will come back always again.

after my first visit to local press in kingston, i was kicking myself for not discovering this gorgeous cafe earlier. i was impressed immediately by the decor as i entered the cafe. the rustic and creative furniture complements the artfully distressed walls to create a very funky vibe. cute cushions, cool knick knacks and nautical-themed accents adorn the cafe.

dropped in for lunch after 2 family members were recently put on quite challenging food restrictions. what a great find. several choices on the menu which met the restrictions. woohoo! food came quickly.... woohoo again! presentation was very inviting and both dishes were seriously yummy. woohoo a third time. tea in teapots with tea cosies...woohoo one more time. only downside is that we live at the opposite end of town - about as far away as possible. but it is such a great find it is worth driving the distance. we will definitely be back!

unique and delicious menu, good coffee and friendly staff. our food was a little slow to come out but the staff acknowledged the delay and took our coffees off the bill... cheers!

if it wasn't obvious, i adore local press cafe already. the healthy and wholefood dominant menu might not be everyone's thing but i'm well and truly sold on this concept. the ambiance of the cafe is inviting and relaxing and add the water views and the attitude-free staff to the equation means i will definitely be a regular. as i said, local press is still in it's infancy so if a slightly longer than average wait for your food is likely to annoy you or if you are in a hurry, i would suggest that you give the cafe a few weeks to find it's feet and for the hype to settle down. but if like me, you believe wholesome and delicious food served with big smiles is worth the wait, go now!
