the liwan restaurant hosted a buffet of arabic and international dishes as well as live cooking stations, and you can expect traditional favourites like lamb ouzi, shawarma, and fresh seafood, as well as a selection of desserts and cakes to end on a sweet note. consistently good and well presented, their iftar offering this ramadan is like a greatest hits from their menu .

"serves some amazing shisha", said my friend and sure it did. you get a great view of the fish roundabout. we sat in the balcony which was open air. it was pretty warm, but soon we got a shack that had the air cooler. we asked for the mint shisha. they have the use-and-throw pipes. the shisha was one of the smoothest and it lasted very long with the coal having to be changed just once! they had few items that were available late at night. i asked for the triple chocolate milkshake. the description looked interesting but it wasn't all that great when they got it. i also wanted a french fries. they had only some thin french fries (i think they were the read-to-eat ones which you just fry). they were much thinner ( the waiter had told me about it) and did not feel like i was having french fries at all. by itself it was a good snack, but they shouldn't sell those as french fries. they were served in an innovative way wrapped in a serviette! it was almost closing time, so they asked us to clear the bill and said that we could sit for some more time. after a few minutes, when we asked for the charcoal to be changed, the waiter said that the shisha guy had already left. this came out as a bit unprofessional, considering that the other satff are still there. but certainly a good place to visit for shisha!

my friend and i had visited this place for brunch .. the theme was mangoes.. they had tried to bring out interesting flavours... very good staff members especially mr.jill ... i had got the opportunity to try out various dishes... the star dish was poached mussels with lemon and oyster sauce

my husband and i went for friday brunch today for the first time in liwan restaurant at swissotel al ghurair. the food was exquisite. there was a wide range of dishes to choose from. my favorite section of the buffet was the grill section where you can order grilled beef and lamb steak - medium rare. yum! shout out also to karen in the front desk for the excellent customer service.

i had visited this restaurant for iftar buffet, the selection of food is good, the ambience is nice. staff were very polite. the arabic music was too loud but worth a try this restaurant

massive buffet , good variety, incredible display. the food quality is high in standard as well as taste.

i went on a saturday where they celebrated the asian theme. the buffet had loads of starters and salads, soups, sushi, dimsums, chaats, soups , main course and desserts. a foodie like me relished the buffet and enjoyed the food offered. also, it's a great relief for parents as the restaurant have an indoor play area.

few things were very disappointing
1- the buffet ends at 4pm, around 3 45 the staff dismantled the play area where we were still having our lunch.
2- air condition switched off sharp at 4( asking us to leave)
3- none from.the staff informed us that there is a special chef counter for kids. i learnt later through a friend. how do they expect us to know their facilities. also, it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

apart, from this do try the buffet for the food they have to offer on weekends.

great price for average buffet.
based on dubai standard and prices, liwan is standing out based on their food quality and price. they are not your pretentious 5 star buffet that costs you 500aed per person but they rather very normal, good quality buffet which have enough of food to eat and leave happy.

i won a instagram contest for this place, went there for dinner, loved the variety of dishes available, i particularly enjoyed butter chicken with plain rice and fresh naan made on the spot, the desert selection was vast , loved the chocolate cakes, also tried sushi for the first time. outdoor seating was also nice with cute lamps and view. enjoyed the experience. thank u liwan

one of the worst iftarat i had ever tried. i tried this on a friday night, wide variety of food but no focus on quality. they overbooked, tables were stuffed beside each other, most of the food ran out the first half an hour. moreover, they assigned tables for families with kids all beside each other in one closed corner so it was extremely loud and annoying. on the bright side, the music band with the saxophone player were very nice and entertaining.

the brunch is excellent. so much varities every where and many live stations! especially dessert section! can't complain much, most of the item tastes great.

just an average lunch buffet at liwan. the salad and sushi section put together was three times more the amount of main dishes available. although, a number of staff members were out and about the restaurant - none were available at hand when you needed them. save for 1 or 2 options at the dessert section, the lemon meringue tart included, there's nothing to write home about.

feels not worth for the payment. the setup, ambience and staffs are very good. but the variety of the dishes is not satisfactory. recently have tried friday brunch mother's day special. as per international buffet, but i could only fine some indian, arabic & italian dishes. i believe if you serve few country dishes you cannot call it as international, for that there should be more varieties. food choices also very less especially for kids, mother's day special so expecting some special foods for kids, but could not find any special kids menu items other than desserts.

this is one of the great restaurants in this area. the food is descent. they have a fair variety one could go through different cuisines. i think they ought to improve their desserts a bit. otherwise all 👋 good

liwan is a nice place for an evening out. its the all day dining restaurant of the hotel "al ghurair arjaan and rayhaan by rotana" i was there on a friday evening. the atmosphere is very calm and the staff were very friendly and attentive. they have a nice terrace where they serve shisha and i personally liked their shisha very much. the buffet spread has good salads though limited on the main course. the food its a hit miss, though the iranian grill was good. the desserts are also ok. the service was good and the hosts pampered us with a no rushed feeling. if food is not the only agenda which is a miss miss hit, liwan can prove to be a pleasant night out otherwise
