came here for iftar yesterday
the seating area is very big
service was excellent
food choices are plenty
i liked the stuffed grape leaves and the umm ali a lot
grills are also good, they brought the grills to the table.
they also have a live louqmat station at the entrance, definitely try some if that on the way out.
there was also a band playing arabic music and eventually a saxophonist came to play.

went for asian lunch buffet and food was good, thoughh d serving of japanese food is quite small than the normal size. but overall, good choices of food...

have been here on diwali. they had put up that they serving good brunch for diwali but they didn't have much option . they served indain curry and didn't have any indian bread to go along with it. they suggested us to have arabic bread with it. not much vegetarian options as well. not up to the mark at all.

i have come across to see a blog with the specials of liwan and i’m so happy that i have found this gem! the place is amazing! from the superb service to the delicious food items, you will never regret of visiting the restaurant. hats off to melvin who was really accommodating and genuinely assisting us with the choices of drinks and the specials of the weekly theme. he was really a great help and you can really see that he’s very passionate with what he’s doing. rachel was also friendly and made sure that we will have comfortable seats. akash was also patient with our requests. overall, a highly recommended place with a nice ambience of everything. kudos to the team!

“around the world” brunch at swissôtel al ghurair launched with a swiss theme for its first weekend, and then we can expect a whirlwind tour of the culinary world for the season!

it has been my honour that i have been approached by @swissotelalghurair to review their iftar menu.

swissotel al ghurair is a luxury 5 star hotel located in deira in the heart of dubai and it’s surrounded by outstanding architecture and breathtaking designs. i loved the high-ceiling and the pearl-colored pillars which add a touch of elegance to the restaurant plus this place is also linked to the iconic al ghurair shopping center.

we had an iftar buffet at liwan restaurant with family and it was an amazing experience, due to ramadan the restaurant has elaborated the iftar pre set menu and this will be available throughout this holy month. this place has a variety of options for a good price plus you will get a warm welcome and efficient hospitality from the entrance till buffet area.

let's start with some iftar menu, we tried most of the items from their buffet like fresh fruits, salad, hummus, mutabal, halloumi, vine leaves, grilled lamb, yellow rice, white rice, grilled chicken, fried fish, spring rolls, cheese samosa, bar bq grill & kebab, fish curry, and lots of desserts i.e: um ali, cheese kunafa, baklava, custard, jelly, pudding, kheer, mini cakes & donuts.

all the items were made to perfection and we really enjoyed it especially after offering prayer the arabic coffee has been served on table to digest the food with dates to enjoy it.

i would like to say thanks to the whole team of f & b who were quite attentive, professional and soft spoken with the customers and especially to their head mr. khaled who was coordinating with them and making sure that every customers should be treats well.

i phoned to make ask about the prices and make a reservation. when we arrived we even asked if the information given over the phone was the same and they confirmed to our surprise though when we had to settle our bill things suddenly changed.

if i if i have to rate this place by money i would give it 50 dirhams max that's the value i got.
original price 160 but if you ask for discount you will get 160 for 2 ... like a bargain.
the target of this brunch is families so there's an entertainment corner and an inflatable castle bouncer.
seated on the table waited at least 10 minutes for a waiter to ask for water .
went for a stroll around the food stations.
arabic section,salads,live noodles cooking station,grill,shy seafood station
food quality average.
like the steak from the grill was rough as rubber.
other items ok
no alcohol was served very disappointed.
if i have the choice to come back i won't .

food are great, clean place, and most amazing staff especially mahi, rachel, selma, naresh and naveen..

we had a lunch buffet at liwan with family, ambiance is nice, quiet decent. the person serving are very courteous. the staff is good.
we had got discounted coupons otherwise the price is on the higher side. the live crepes station was not great at all they were dry and not palatable. what i enjoyed the most was salad and the lamb, lamb was cooked well. we were told by the staff that they have friday brunch buffet which has wide range of dishes with kid friendly activities and cooking classes for kids. hopefully will update the reviews if we go for friday brunch with kido.

came here with my family to celebrate our 4 year old daughter’s birthday. the food and ambience was great.
the staff was very nice and courteous esp mr mostafa who made sure we had a good experience at the hotel.

our company celebrated diwali in liwan last oct 2019.

food selection was great, their arabi mezza is so delicious

liwan is one of the best catch here in deira side. with all the restaurants around, this one is worth every dirhams. with the social media hype - i’m not easily convince even there’s b/vloggers reviews till i experience first hand! 😊 so it’s proven for us that their friday brunch is so family oriented and our kids loved it! variety of options for a good price. the staff , from entrance till buffet area are very warm and as expected, hospitable and efficient.
