lime and basil thai restaurant

everything is perfect here. recommend to make a reservation since it gets full especially on weekends. i love everything on the menu. cheers!

we tried their crispy catfish salad, shrimps in a blanket, the steamed lapu lapu in lime dressing, their chicken sate, and the pineapple rice. the shrimps in a blanket were fairly straightforward, nothing too notable about them. the crispy catfish salad was pretty good. the steamed lapu lapu has a very very delicate flavor, others might find it a bit bland for their taste, but the fish was very well cooked. the pineapple rice and the chicken sate were both just fine. overall i wouldn't say that the food is that much of a standout, but there's no better thai food in the area, and the location is very picturesque, making it an ideal place for special occasions.

this is the go-to thai resto. it's hard to find a thai cuisine that is as good as this one in manila, you'd need to go to tagaytay just to taste the goodness.

food selection and flavor - it is indeed an authentic thai restaurant. i think it is a bit pricey though (when you consider the portion size per order).

maganda ang presentation ng pagkain, malaki ang serving, pwedeng pang 3 to 4 persons. recommended ko na itry nyo ang fresh spring rolls nila.. ang sarap ng combination ng gulay at ng herbs. nagustuhan ko din yung tofu. malambot at firm, di tulad ng pangkaraniwang tokwa. masarap din yung beef with curry.. para akong kumain ng kare-kare na may curry. kung type nyo maiba naman at mahilig kayo sa may gata at curry na pagkain.. this is a must try restaurant!

i suggest that they change their directions on their website. quite confusing because the yellow arc is no longer there. keep it up!

this is a hidden gem in tagaytay.   ambiance is quaint, food is tasty and parking is ample.  prices are reasonable for their generous serving sizes (each dish can be shared by 3 people with moderate appetites).  service is prompt and attentive.  surroundings and dinnerware are clean.  eating there is very relaxing with the garden-like ambiance, and you can taste the freshness of their ingredients.  the resto is not pretentious at all like other over-hyped and over-priced restaurants in tagaytay.

thumbs up for their food. very tasty and worth of money. my only complaint was there were a lot of mosquitos when you eat outside (specifically the couch area). they gave us candles but not very useful because of the electric fan. but overall experience was great. will definitely go back but maybe next time we will just eat inside.

this place was one of the best places i've ever eaten in. i'm not a big fan of thai food, but everything that we ordered was exquisite. the ingredients were fresh, the portions were just right for the price, and the food was delicious. the place also has a great ambiance and my friend who loved the outdoors really felt relaxed in the restaurant. servers were also attentive and friendly. i would definitely go back, and i would highly recommend this place for people who want to have great thai food with a relaxing ambience.

thai food here is excellent! i loved all their dishes especially the soft shell crab salad and pad thai! their chicken satay not only is very tender and tasty but was good enough to share for up to 3 people. we also had the pineapple fried rice with prawns and i absolutely loved that as well.

i’d skip the spring rolls as i’ve had better elsewhere and missed the shrimp or crab that usually came with it. the variety here is all veggie so it would be good for hard core vegetarians.
the ambiance is very relaxed and cozy. date night or fambam bonding would be very nice here.

service was really warm and the staff are quick to take your order and can explain the menu really well.

good place to escape from the city hustle and the price won’t break the bank. against cafe voila — the servings here would be the deal breaker. as for taste, i’m honestly torn because both are very good. try it for yourself!

food:
i’d say the food is very much worth every penny. i have tried the ff: thai milk tea, paneng nua, fresh spring rolls, saté gai, pad thai gai, and sticky rice. when i tried this resto, me and my friends are on a food trip. we have tried around 5 restos in tagaytay, and this topped my list as the best one.

price:
it’s quite pricey but the quality of the food you are getting is commensurate to the bill.

ambiance/venue:
it’s kinda dark inside the resto but you may opt to eat at the garden area or at the balcony. the fixtures and designs may still be improved to have a more thai feel because it looked more like a cozy home with some thai items around rather than an actual thai resto. it also has an “organic” vibe.

lime and basil thai restaurant is like a home away from home. we were seated outdoors. it was cozy and serene, which gave us a feeling that we were in our own garden.

the food was outstanding. each of the meal we ordered was flavorful and fresh. i consider this restaurant as the best thai restaurant i've been to yet.

recommend: make sure to try their fresh spring rolls, yam som o salad, kaeng deng kha moo (crispy pata with red curry sauce), pad thai, and thai iced tea!

skip: gai hor bai toey (chicken pandan). it was too dry for my taste.

the service was good but not outstanding. although our server was attentive, i do wish that he was more friendly and smiled more. this didn't bother me too much since the ambiance and food were amazing.

will definitely go back! ❤️

thai food craving satisfied! but it’s best to make a reservation, we were lucky we got there early and there are still a few tables available. back to the food, we’ll definitely go back to taste the other dishes. so much love for this restaurant. pet friendly too. lastly, superb service. ❤️🥰

in terms of service, ambiance, price, taste, for me its perfect. highly recommended dishes are the pad thai, tom yum, fresh spring rolls. serving is good for 2-3 persons. a must visit in tagaytay.

tried lime and basil out on the way back from our trip to batangas. ❤️ gotta say, we all made a good choice choosing this place. not only did the place look cute and cozy with their thai decor, garden and homey atmosphere... the food looked and tasted great too! 🤤

⭐️ pomelo salad: pomelo was sweet, and the overall flavor profile of the salad was a mix of spicy, salty and sweet. best salad i ever had! and that says a lot, since i’m generally picky with salads. 🥗

⭐️ pad thai: the crunchy stuff on top turned out to be egg! 😮 noodles were sweet and salty, and springy too! it came with bits of chicken and is best enjoyed with a dash of lemon juice on it for a sour flavor that binds it all together.

⭐️ sticky rice with mango: great way to end the meal with something sweet! mangoes were delicious, and the sauce that came with it was a mix of milky and sweet. nice contrast to the sticky rice! 🍚
